Bit strange that Woothemes are not including the PSD files when purchased through Themeforest…. Gotta say, seems like Woothemes struck gold and got a ton of free advertising for basically offering overpriced, questionable quality themes without common inclusions like psd files.

I think another buyer summed it up but just to +1 what they said, good authors on here have nothing to fear from a company that charge $55 for a no-frills business template when their equivalent products are selling for $40.

Pricing for any item is determined by ThemeForest people and not by the authors.

Incorrect – pricing is determined by what customers will pay, and Themeforest and it’s authors need to correctly judge what this is. Looking at their sales they’ve got it about right.

I don’t see any mad rush from customers to buy the new Woo themes, and this is because they’re competing with the more realistic pricing of Themeforest authors. In fact most of them don’t have any sales at all yet – I personally wouldn’t pay $55 for an ancient looking no-frills business template, even before comparing it to some of the stunning work provided by Themeforest authors.

According to this, no ie8 support = soft rejection.

But 20 out of 30 woo themes do not list ie8 as compatible browser.

More food for thought.

Simple solution for Envato:
From 27th March 2013, announce that IE8 as no longer a concern of browser compatibility for all themes. Lets all start forgetting about buyer reaction and their usability; so that we can earn “nice guy” label in the industry.

One thing is sure; too many things bent, twisted and tampered to urgently approve around ~30 items from one special vendor. Hope things wont continue this way in the future for any bulk uploaders.

Not only that, my theme was rejected because it was using Twitter API 1, and their themes are using the API 1 and there is no problem with that?

Are the rules same for everyone?

Another thing thats kind of odd, is Woo is allowed to use their own auto updater script, which from my understanding is a big no no for other authors.

I dont care that they do it but if they can, then it should be allowed for other authors to do so as well, Id love to implement my own upgrade system rather than dealing with Envatos API .

fyi I’m glad to see Woo coming here and I dont think its that big of a deal, they’ve done a lot for WordPress and could bring a different customer base that wasn’t already shopping on Themeforest.

It seems its definitely a “Envato” pick and chose the rules for certain entities, I remember a few other big names that had an “exclusive” badge that were selling themes elsewhere

When the big boss calls them up to join TF (http://notes.envato.com/general/100-gpl-option-now-available-plus-woothemes-arrives/ ), rules don’t matter anymore.
