So I just saw this morning that Wordpress launched version 2.8. I just wanted to see what everyone thought about this.

I have to admit that I am a little irked because I just upgraded one of my clients to 2.7 this past tuesday. Grrr! Plus, I am just now starting to feel comfortable with version 2.7.

It does however, look like there might be some pretty cool improvements. They say they fixed quite a few bugs and the admin interface looks pretty slick. I haven’t played with it yet, but am planning to download it this week and try it out.

What do you guys think about this new version?

One phrase – “Syntax highlighting rules!” :). I can finally skip desktop editors when making small fixes to the code, yay!

Yeah, I heard about it too.. however, there’s WAY less fuzz about it than with WP 2 .7

Stephanie, WordPress 2.7 included a one-click upgrade system. If you login to your client’s WordPress Dashboard, you will receive a notice that v2.8 is out. Press ‘Upgrade Automatically’, and it does it all for you! :)

The syntax highlighter is a fantastic touch, and the new Widgets manager is a great long-overdue enhancement.

Is important to say that the syntax highlighter doesn’t work on Google Chrome…

I like it very much, and my future WP themes won’t be backwards compatible with previous version because of the new widget class.
