Big news came out today in the world of WordPress – version 3.3 is out! We’ve taken some time to round up all of the new big features over at Wptuts, and you can also read up on the official announcement page at WordPress.org.

If you have any WordPress themes up in your portfolio here (or you’re about to release one), now would probably be a good time to test them out and make sure they’re working properly with the latest version. Upgrading your WP version is the single best way to ward off security problems, so it’s not something you’ll want to ignore (or expect buyers to ignore :P).

Side note to the admins: Now would also be a good time to add “3.3” as a radio option in the theme descriptions, so that will probably be showing up soon for all authors.

That is all. Carry on now ;)

Feel free to share your favorite new features with the new version (or annoyances if they exist) below!

Already tested our themes and all good – New theme in the queue also tested but no option yet to check 3.3 so placed in the description – devs please add asap as buyers really need the security of knowing this – thanks everyone :)

I was so excited when I saw the email from Matt announcing WP 3 .3’s release. I’ve been using the version in trunk for a while, but knowing everyone will be able to get this version now is fantastic :)

wp_editor ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_editor ) is really nice.. unfortunately the old method of using buttons and modal windows to add shortcodes does not work with the wp_editor function. maybe a tutorial in the future for this one?:)
