Now that prices have risen, can we have something new?

There are some great themes out there, and some great copies of great themes outt here, copies of the copies, then they are copied.

It’s a lot like Hollywood. Buffy & Angel made a great team (as long as Angel got to stay Grumpy), so then we get a continuous string of TV shows and movies which are all based around a mortal girl falling in love with a vampire. It was good when it was original…not so good anyore and it has totally watered down the teen vampire market (so much so that as a publisher, we won’t go anywhere near young adult vampire romance).

What is really needed now, and what is a realistic request/expectation at this point, is that the other categories get the same treatment as the WP category. Admin templates and site templates are suffering from the same ancient pricing points as the WP category was. There has been no bump in these categories for a loooong time but standards have gone up incredibly.

I would suggest that site templates range in price from $18-$25, while admin templates range from $25-$35. Given the work with goes into these items, this is pretty reasonable.

Can we atleast get a WP bundle? Im having withdrawls lol

I’m not saying the themes aren’t worth it, I’ll only pay 50+ if someone wants me to build them a site… I’m an impulse buyer :( ..and at 35.00 I didnt mind collecting them at all, I have half a dozen unused already. This week there has been atleast 3 themes I would love to snap up, but not at 50. The one thing that does confuse me tho is the prices on themes from 2 yrs ago are even at 50-60. With no updates in over a yr as well. I can see the point on the latest themes, with having new features and such… but I just went to buy a theme from 2010 and its now at 45 from 35 last week?..and the author hasn’t even answered comments in a month. sooo? I know this will all fall on deaf ears but feels good to say sumthin..I guess :(

I need a raise too!...siiiigh whatever

A prefect example of a Theme Forest price raise that is so NOT justified

[Link Removed]

This theme has not been taken care of at all and yet you raised the price and people are STILL BUYING IT

This theme should have been REMOVED , and any person who has bought it should have their money REFUNDED IMHO { at least those since the price increase at the very minimum } play fair envato

Please have a look Envato, and tell me I am wrong.
Has never worked properly since I paid for it and has never once received a reply, not even a ask in the support forum, nada, nuttin honey.

Thinks this author may have passed away or has been otherwise incapacitated and I am not joking. Has purchased a couple themes from him / her and he / she has been missing in action for months now on all of them.

All one need do is look at the comments on all of his / her themes.

Nuff said

Thanks for the time.

BTW , still buying fantastic work from fantastic authors here, just purchased Cardamon for 50.00$ but stuff like the one mentioned above needs to be resolved. Return Customers are important. I will return, but a new customer who pays for that theme I mentioned at first is so Not Coming Back Again

I also have stopped impulse buying to try them out. I pick very very very carefully now and only purchase from the tried and true authors.

Its easy to understand yall complain about items being too cheap then they increased the prices and ya still say it takes weeks to develop and the prices should be higher to the buyers but ya keep releasing themes left and right i saw 3 new themes from one author in 2 days.

Sorry, but your argument is invalid. You don’t know if he has been working on those themes for days, weeks or even months. All you know is that he decided to release 3 themes in 2 days. That’s it.

I have been reading and re-reading those forum rules over and over the last 2 days to make sure I did not post a link again and just was not able to find it. I did find a section that I am pretty sure pertains to why you removed the link. I think I understand now, it was not using a link that I did wrong, it was that while discussing the theme in question, I linked to it and you considered that ” calling out ”. While that was not my intention, rather simply to get the theme in question noticed, I understand now. Won’t happen again, it really was a misunderstanding on my part, I meant no malice. As a matter of a fact, actually hopes the person in question is well, as I fear they may not be.

I understand, that you’ve had some bad experience and want to share it…

But if you have concern about quality of certain TF items, please address it directly to envato support: http://support.envato.com/ I’m sure that if your complains are relevant, certain actions will be taken. This will be much more effective than posting it on forums ;)

I’m one of envato’s top buyers. And from a buyers’ perspective… there’s many competitors’ theme subscription sites where for $100 or so I can get dozens of decent themes, with unlimited site license. and those include dedicated forums with responsive, fast support.

google “wordpress themes” and you’ll see there’s lots of great theme sites, many which give you 20-30 themes (most are mediocre, but there are often at least 2-3 themes that are well worth getting), that for a full year you get dozens of themes and unlimited site usage license And great support on forums by the developers.

for $50-$100 elsewhere I can get 20-30 good themes that are usable on unlimited of my sites and get guaranteed support-forum detailed support (often within 24 hours, at most major WP theme subscription-plan based sites) and new themes added monthly, all included for the money… please get more competitive on pricing and/or licensing and/or support.

envato will continue to attract great theme developers, so that’s a plus… it’s just as loyal buyers (especially us ‘power buyers’), it would be good to get better support forums with dedicated fast response like your competitors offer, and less restrictive licensing, and more competitive pricing. I won’t be spending much on themes here at $50 each; in this global recession with bad economic times, charging more money than competitors probably isn’t a good idea.
