Hello,

Could someone point me in the direction of a detailed tutorial on how to create custom options for themes.

Options I would like to have in a new theme include:

1: I have a banner which will contain the same text throughout the site – right now it’s in banner.php which is included into header.php … How do I make the text within the banner editable within theme options??

2: I am making a simple gallery/photo widget – Users will be able to add upto 20 photos to it… So I need to find some way of integrating this into the theme options too – I was thinking that there could be multiple fields where you could input each image URL – I just have no idea how to do this.

In fact, I have no idea how to make theme options at all…

Any help is appreciated.

An example of what I mean by “theme options” can be found on one of Kailoons themes: http://themeforest.net/files/41010/3_extraadmin.jpg

Thanks,

James.

Hey, I’m almost finished writing up a tutorial for creating a Theme Options page for the ThemeForest Blog.

It’s based upon code I’ve gave in this thread and uses the theme layout I’ve used in my GamePress theme.

Thanks Dan. I am gonna read through the tut you linked to in that thread. It looks okay’ish but seems to focus on style options rather than content – but at least it does mention how to integrate the options into other parts of your theme. Thanks again! :)

That sounds very promising Dan. I wonder when we are going to see it?

I’ve arranged with Jeffrey (Site Manager) to be publishing articles every Tuesday. So look for it then :)

Hi, I need a theme in caribbean style for a blog. I am looking for something like karibikurlaub (see www.karibikurlaub.de). Any idea where to find something like that? I will fly to the caribbean soon and would like to share my experiences in my blog :)

You are seriously bringing a 3 year old thread back to life? I suggest opening a thread in the Item Requests section of the forum since this thread has nothing to do with your request. Kind regards.
