Wordpress Dev Help!

Hi,

I need some modifications to a theme I am using. I mostly work in design and not development, so as you can imagine I’m in a bit of a pickle as to how I can implement these changes.

I have a lovely sortable portfolio residing on my main page, currently the thumbnails link out to a new product details post, all I need from my portfolio is for it to just open the thumbs into a lightbox. My second change (this is not important but would be nice) is to somehow have my portfolio display random thumbs? It would be nice for visitors to view random thumbs from my portfolio instead of the same images every visit.
