Do you have any other code that interacts with your categories (functions.php perhaps)? maybe there’s a conflict somewhere… Sorry I couldn’t help more :(

I use this on my categories page.

//if is articles page, get posts from this category id and show 9 of them.
<?php if (is_page('7') ) {//articles
 query_posts('cat=4&showposts=9');
} elseif ( is_page('9') ) {//freebies
query_posts('cat=5&showposts=9');
} elseif ( is_page('356') ) {//inspiration
query_posts('cat=30&showposts=9');
} elseif ( is_page('949') ) {//tutorials
query_posts('cat=6&showposts=9');
} else {
$cat = '';
}
?>

@IvorPadilla

This worked fantastic! I had a small conflict with some other stuff I was doing and finally tracked it down.

Note: that the code is displayed with some code tag/characters messed up. I could see the proper code when I replied to the post with “reply with quote” and the code quoted.

Thanks for all the help for all who posted to this query :).
