Don’t get me wrong, but if TF didn’t take down [author username removed]-guy, they won’t do anything to you copyright-wise.

As you took it down I can’t say whether it was inspired or ripped.

What I do know is I’m sick and tired of hearing “it looks like Orman’s” or “it looks like so and sos”, what, these guys invented the style?

I think not.

As for “create something unique” it’s impossible, EVERYTHING has been done before so everything is going to carry similarities.

If Orman or any other top author pushed a “similar” theme would it be rejected? I’m dubious.

Anyway, that’s my 2 cents.

If a person uses the same buttons, horizontal rules, borders, effects, typography that are on another site, it’s a copy, not an inspiration..

But i’m not saying anything more in this thread.. Do people upload copy cats? Yes! Does this make it right? No!

If top authors start to say that it’s ok to get inspired 80% from another website, then it’s clear where this marketplace is going.. Whatever..going back at creating something original :|

Ruben, although I took it down now, if you had looked at other areas of the site not just the downloads page you would see that it wasn’t just a copy. I did design it in Photoshop from scratch. While there are similarities to premium pixel and other zilla themes, it wasn’t a straight rip.

Example being I purchased and extended version of i Carousel for the portfolio page items and highly customized etc.

The buttons were generic and the same as nearly any other site. There wasn’t any border effects. The typography is straight helvettica. These things are very generic. If making something that is clean and generic is ripping, this whole site is based on ripping.

But its as dream-theme said I just need to find my own style. And that’s ok.

+1 to that, if the reviewers say its not unique its complete nonsense. The fact is unique doesnt even sell. Iv seen people here complain item quality is going down because templates have the same concept or they look similar, but the items that get sales are the ones that are similar to the ones that already got sales. Dont waste your time trying to create something new, buyers dont buy unique shit.
