I’m looking to integrate a promo/slider type jquery plugin in the header to my personal wordpress site that I’ve been neglecting to finish while building html templates for this place…

I see a lot of WP files on this site that tie categories/tags to posts and display the last few in the promo/header slider area. Do most people just write a custom query dropping the title, image and information in the promo area or is there a decent (free) plugin that can be used for this?

Thanks for any tips, I appreciate it.

jFlow is great – Also check out the newer version is now called KarmicFlow (from the same author) – It’s also superbly easy to integrate – and I just used it on my PixelCraft HTML template (soon to be Wordpress).

Is there a wp slider plug in that would support a short flash animation as the first slide, followed by stills? All those i’ve seen seem to be be just still pictures throughout.

Thanks,

Jimmy

Basically any slider just outputs some html.

So you can have whatever you want in that HTML , even a FLASH animation (provided the FLASH is the correct size to fit in the slider).

Oh and guys, let’s not forget Chris’ AnythingSlider – it can be so easily integrated with WordPress (it’s not a WP plugin)
