Advertising PRO support is ok (at least for me). The problem sometimes seems to be distinguishing support from the neck massage services that were mentioned before.
I don’t think my support tab makes it hard to distinguish support from something else such as other services http://themeforest.net/item/antares-any-purpose-template-for-joomla/5549648/support
Do you mind if I copy it? :D

I really don’t care if people install themes, offer free customizations, etc. I just think that you should not be allowed to advertise these type of services together with the theme.
This is mostly what I opened this thread about, perhaps I could have worded this better.

I do fully agree to your statement and reasonable concerns. Themeforest should check this kind of advertisement while review process and reject items because of unfair competition, a different justification or the way KingDog already said. That simple I would say.

It is totally wrong to provide free complex customizations to the customers. Customers will start expecting the same thing from other authors as well and it will soon become a trend here.

Sometimes I encounter customers that don’t know anything about WordPress or have little knowledge about WordPress. They don’t know even about widgets and they start complaining that they are not able to setup the theme like demo. Sometimes it becomes necessary to setup the homepage for such customers. I think that is ok. But beyond that it is not a good thing to do.
