Really? Where did you get your metrics at to make that determination? I don’t believe that is accurate at all. Many people come to this site via outside referral marketing. Either way, the design is not unique and that’s what ThemeForest is looking for right now.
It’s just an estimate based on my sales and sales of other themes that i’ve kept track of.
I can tell you with near certainty that if an item is not on the popular items page then its sales will continually decrease the further it is from the top of the first page.
It won’t decrease if you continue to market it outside of Envato.
How does that make any sense?
If it will decrease if you don’t market it outside of Envato, and the sales you get from Envato count as sales, then your sales from Envato will decrease over time. If you add on a static amount of sales from advertising outside of Envato how does that total not decrease over time?
