Wordpress Theme Install?

Hi,

I purchased a beautiful theme tonight to use on Wordpress but I seem to be having difficulties installing a new theme. It just loads and then times out or says “Failure Notice” and asks me to retry.

Does anyone by chance know how to resolve this problem?

It’s probably best to contact the author of the theme in cases like these.

But I don’t think it’s a problem with the Template.

It’s wordpress. I cannot install any template, I get the same problem… Just keeps loading and nothing happens until eventually it finally says Failure Notice.

Any ideas?

How are you uploading the templates? Are you uploading them from the wp-admin area or via FTP ?

I resolved my problem.

I was uploading the template through WP-ADMIN. This is how I’ve always done it, but learned from another post that someone recommended just uploading it through FTP and setting it up that way.

All works now.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to ask why I had to do it this way rather than through WP-Admin?

I’m suspecting that some folder permissions are messed up..maybe the themes folder is not writeable and wp-admin isn’t able to upload in there.

This is not necessarily something bad and from a security point of view, it’s actually probably better that the themes folder is not writeable.

I’m looking for some intelligent help here if you are not capable of giving any then bow out!

So far I have found this same problem repeated in this forum numerous times. Is there not one of you that can solve it?
