Wordpress Theme Rejected (Need Ideas)

I submitted my first theme http://zexo.atinder.com on themeforest few days back but it was rejected and reviewer given the following reason

Get a better idea of the quality level of graphics, typography and general design that we require for approval.

the design needs overall, general improvements

Please suggest me what can i do so that i get it approved i have been working on it from 2 months.(i am not very good at design so i created a very basic but customizable design)

I don’t know what would get a theme approved, but I do know what attracts me as a buyer:

For starters, look into some better fonts for headings using Cufon or @font-face for a more polished look. Also pay attention to spacing around items. Sometimes the text next to a thumbnail is too close and it looks crowded, or a paragraph has too much space separating it from its header. The footer is also pretty plain…maybe spice it up by putting some of the sidebar widgets down there (e.g. flickr, sponsors).

I think what you have is a good start, and with some polish it could be a solid theme!

Hello,

This is a good beginning, but you need to add some more depth to your design. Right now it looks like a wireframe layout. Now add some good graphic design!

• Colors and borders are too “flat”- need to jazz it up with some textures/gradients/shadows/lighting effects
• Logo design too simple
• Slider animation is too fast
• Navigation menu links blend into the background. Need more contrast/better background.
• Read more buttons too simple, consider rounded corners
• Better, bold fonts on headlines. Consider cufon or font-face font replacement.
• Add soft shadows on slider image and thumbnail images
• Footer background too simple. Consider gradient or lighting effect.
• Add some good icons and/or button images
• This looks like a “blog” theme. Consider making it more corporate / business oriented
• Many links need good :hover / mouseover effect (for example, text links in footer)
• Also: best to use generic stock photos instead of Audi brand
