Hi guys, its been a long time since I developed a theme for wordpress and while browsing through the forums, I found about the “Wordpress Toolkit”. As an author, do I need to include the plugin with my wordpress theme? Or do I simply need to upload the `Optional WordPress Theme` ZIP ?

Just upload the extra zip, mate. The end-user can opt in to install the plugin themselves.
