Wordpress Upload

Recently purchased the Themeforest Plus Grid Responsive multipurpose magazine template and can’t seem to upload it successfully to my wordpress dashboard.

I keep getting this message: The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Can anyone help? – I’ve downloaded the theme twice to insure I’ve downloaded the file successively from themeforest.

Right you will have downloaded a zip file, inside that zip is the actual zip theme it might be called

theme.zip, plusgrid.zip or something similar, upload that!

1. Download the final zip file from your downloads page.
2. Unzip the final zip file; you should now have a final download folder.
3. Do NOT upload the final download folder. Open up the final download folder.
4. Browse the contents and find the actual theme folder. If you look inside the theme folder, you will see a “style.css” file. This is how you know you have found the theme folder.
5. Via FTP, upload ONLY the theme folder to your “wp-content/themes” folder.
6. Login to your WordPress admin panel and activate the theme.

If followed accordingly, the installation should be successful. Good luck with the new site.

assuming your theme requires this plugin to be installed http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gantry/

its best to read the documentation that comes with the theme or check with the author directly
