Yup! I’d say that’s one thing.
The part with the loneliness it’s also true. But recently i started to go out in the middle of the day more often. A walk in the park with the family, a breath of air… It helps a lot to shoot that chair and just go out and look at some trees 
@miseld Try to build relations with companies/production studios, local customers and even if there is no guarantee for a minimum income I’m sure you have more than a chance to do better than a full-time job at an office. Good luck!

Yep… the underwear thing is not to be underestimated.
What better feeling in the world is there talking to seriously to a client about the fine details of a particular animation, coming across as confident, knowledgeable and in control… and thinking to yourself all the time, “I’m in my underwear”.....
And then realising you had your video camera on on Skype!

And i agree also about the pro’s outweighing the cons thing, i am doing the thing i love. Even if it gets tough sometimes i still am happy with what i am doing and i don’t see myself doing anything else ever. Sure i get lonely, who doesn’t when one spends 12+ hours a day in front of a screen.. but hey if i don’t feel like it i just go out and do something, the freedom is a pro that cant be outweigh ten ( is that even a word?) :d

Going full time here was SO FAR the best move I made. It’s been more than an year now.. It does require an enmormous discipline and you can get distracted by 1 million of things. Talking to myself ? sure.. I am accepting this as the price I pay for my freedom + but the working in my underwear (or even without it ) part does the ballance. You need a certain amount of self-confidence too. I am sure you will be just fine. Wife and kids are supposed to help and inspire you. Good luck man.
