Hey guys,

I know this looks somewhat like a shameless bump, but I think my timing was wrong and many of you might not have seen it…

I’d like to give a special thanks to Jason (our marketplace manager), Collis, whoever manages the ThemeForest Twitter account and everybody that RT-ed it ;)

Thanks guys, I really appreciate you helping spread the word! You sent so many people to Modforest that the site went down twice (fixed that with W3 Total Cache, partially)

Again, looking forward to seeing how people modify WordPress themes they bought here ;)

Have an awesome day!

I like the site and love the idea. I wish all my customers posted their modifications, I would link to them as a sales tool.

Is it possible you are advertising this in the wrong place? It seems like you need to reach more buyers and although they do spend time in the forums I feel like it’s mostly authors in here. I have nothing to back that up, just my impression. You may want to contact sellers directly and work on getting them to promote the site by placing links in their help document, item details page and even email signature. A contest may also generate some increase in submissions.

About the site design… just some observations of my own.

I find the body text hard to read. I think without the text-shadow, or possibly making it more subtle on the smallest text will help.

I would really like to know what theme a modification is based on, but there doesn’t seem to be a name or anything in the item details to say the original theme title, author, etc. A photo and link to the original demo would be great!

@Parallelus

Thanks a lot for taking the time to give feedback, I truly appreciate that.

The idea of working with authors to promote Modforest is awesome, I’ll definitely get on it right now ;)

I would really like to know what theme a modification is based on, but there doesn’t seem to be a name or anything in the item details to say the original theme title, author, etc. A photo and link to the original demo would be great!

I’m trying to keep the submit form as simple as possible, so that submitters won’t go away when seeing it.

The last 2 inputs (referral links) are meant to show what theme was used, besides the obvious possibility to earn. I’m not sure about a preview image of the original theme (though it would fit awesome in a slideshow like before/after), but theme title & author are a good point.

I also think I need to make it a bit clearer when it comes to these two inputs; most people forgot/misunderstood that they can place their referral link there and had to email me about it.

Last, but not least, body text -> spot on, I’ll try and reduce that text-shadow / mingle with line-height a bit more.

Again, thanks for your feedback, great points you made.

I’m open to suggestions, so if anyone has something to add, I’d love to hear :)
