If our theme comes packaged with plugins, will they be uploaded and activated for the theme preview?
Hey contempo! This is an excellent question, and a bit tricky to answer. At the moment we’re still trying to figure out how to make live previews work in a way that still lets there be a lot of flexibility (i.e. custom content, custom fields, custom plugins).
I suspect we might have to make a system where you can either have a default preview or provide a link to a more advanced one. But I’m just guessing, have to wait and see what the dev team come up with
Sorry to be so vague
@ Collis – thanks for the reply, looking forward to what the dev team comes up with.
@ kailoon – i think that’s a great idea
@kailoon, thats an excellent idea. Since the authors created the theme anyways, it would be easier & much quicker for them to set up an online .
There is only one problem with us setting up the previews, I have had to take down a few wordpress themes off my demo servers because some idiot has hacked it and put a virus on, it seems to happen a lot on Wordpress sites so I don’t think a customer would be too happy if suddenly their computer is attacked, on the other hand it is near impossible for the wordpress preview set up on TF to work with all themes.
Its a bit of a stalemate situation me thinks.
Talk about bringing a thread back from the dead, this is from 6 years ago lol
