Hi,

Is it possible to create a theme that allows registered users to upload products from the frontend (user account section). If so….

Will the newly added products be set up to be “approved” before going live (much like a comment)...

or even better,

Is there a way of setting up a charge to add products and the product is auto added upon the completion of a payment process?

Hey Tikki, If you are interested we could share the costs of a custom plugin for personal use and perhaps sell the plugin once completed to recover costs? email me if you are interested at mark@markmakingdesigns.co.za

The plugin would simply allow for a registered user to be able to upload his own product including a price, description, image etc. to an already existing product category, the plugin would have the option of allowing uploads to be “free pending approval” or if you want users to pay to submit then a “paid submissions” option as well as a setting for the amount it costs to submit.

If the product is sold the user/seller needs to be able to log on and mark the item as sold, also an email asking if the product has been sold (with a link allowing to mark the item as sold) needs to be sent on a weekly basis.

The idea was sparked when chatting to a colleague about a client that sells used Apple products, he was interested in creating a used products store that was essentially a classifieds website, however he makes commission on the sales so he needed the financial inspiration to run the site.

I personally believe a plugin that adds this functionality would really make a dent.
