You would need a better GPU for the retina screen but, a question for you, do you think theres a need for a retina screen? I get it for games maybe, but movies and other stuff may not look as good.

a. I think most desktop GPU can handle a hardware accelerated desktop, even at Retina resolutions. Even the Intel ones should be fine. The iPad needed an upgrade since its earlier GPU was, for the lack of a better word, wimpy for that monstrous resolution.

b. I like multi tasking and increased resolution == more stuff on my screen. I’m sure movies will look pretty decent once upscaled properly. Apps may have a difficult time since I’m not sure how much of OS X is actually resolution independent. We’ll find out soon, I guess.

I really can’t wait. Buzzing with excitement for iOS 6, new versions of Xcode and hopefully a new iPhone

I just spent $34 a few weeks ago to upgrade max os x from snow leopard to lion and now will have to spend more $ on mountain lion

Upgrade takes a lot of time, download + install, and I didn’t find a suitable window for upgrading to Lion until a few weeks ago

I predict that Apple will announce that they secretly bought the rights to the Amiga and have been secretly working on it. The new Amiga, with Workbench 4 will be released over the next few months and I can smile and start using Deluxe Paint, Amos & Blitz and playing Zool & Wizkid.

My prediction is that our credit card will suffer, a lot.
