Hi everyone,

There is a bug in his file XML Dropdown Menu Elegance.

When you leave the menu in an html page the rollover effect or dropdown doesn’t go back to it’s original position when viewed in IE6 & IE7

Can anyone help with this issue.

I have send him seven unanswered messages.

Your help will be appreciated.

that just sounds like your mouse isnt in the flash movie anymore. AS3 has a new event called Event.MOUSE_LEAVE which would fix it, but not sure what to do if its in AS2 .

It’s not a bug in his file. Its just the browser.

to my knowledge there is only 1 event that fires when leaving the swf onRollOut. assuming AS2

so add anevent to that and make it do what you want

Thanks for the reply guys.

That’s correct it happens when exiting the movie.

When it doesn’t play in the most popular browser it is a bug. The file needs to be created with this in mind. Regardless if there is a flaw in how IE responds you need to create a workaround for this issue.

asman I don’t know how to do what your saying. The file already has an event telling it to roll back to original position which works when viewed as a swf file or through html in Firefox.

If anyone has purchased this file and knows how to assist it would be great. Thanks

set an event listener for onRollOut to the _root and call the function that tells it to roll back to original possition

been a long time since i messed with AS2 but something like this should do it

_root.onRollOut = function( ) {
// call function or do whatever needed to revert to original position
}

Thanks asman , I asked designesia if he could use your suggestion to fix the issue. I am no flash expert and I truly have no time to try to figure it out (already tried for a whole day) so I hope the author pulls through. Its a nice file, it will be a shame not to use it.
