Nice. You’ve got a lot of solid motion graphic set pieces on there.
My two points would be…
1. I’m not quite sure how template stuff comes over on a reel, if it’s freelance work or a full time position that you’re aiming to get with the reel. If it’s more for the benefit of stock clients, then no problem.
2. For me, to get your reel to the next level, you really need to have a couple of pieces of work on there that really push the boundaries a little. Whether it’s an incredible concept, an outlandishly brilliant and original piece of design work, a job that integrates high-quality shot material, a 3D job with loads of modelling and lighting in there…or any job really that pushes the concept, scope and production value above what’s easily achievable on a PC. The reel as it is will certainly open doors for you and it proves you can do it, beyond doubt. But if you want it to rise clearly above that “yet another motion reel” status, then at some point, you’re gonna need a couple of clips on the reel that go that extra mile.
Thanks felt, actually I forgot to mention, it’s not a real reel It’s actually made for fun, to try to sum up last 2 years. So, as I said, it’s mostly for fun. I find that I don’t have enough good freelance projects to make a really good reel. Any freelance work btw?
I like it, some good quality stuff you got there and agree with PixFlow about music.
You’ve done a great job on this footage.
But really, I like your Reel, have to make my own in next time for my works in 2012. But I still wait if World exists after Dec 21 before I make it for nothing…
