Your associations with Envato sales

Sometimes i feel myself here as on fishing:) especially when i have more than 10 sales per day, it seems to me, that here came a large shoal of fish (sorry, buyers, i love all of you:))..And when i upload a new file, i feel like throw bait:))also, when i see a new purchase, i always say:”Thanks”, ha-ha:)) It’s interesting to listen about your associations and superstitions with Envato sales…

When I’m here I see all these people joining forces to pay my rent

Cool post Alexander – ya know, one thing I think for sure is like you said “saying thanks”...but well, having a thankful attitude is what I mean

I try to stay grateful for each and every sale and take none for granted. I only have to think a few years back to when I was scratching and scraping to make a living from music, and now the music is making my living!

As far as superstitions go, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a superstition, but I pray! Yes I said PRAY ! My life looks like 1000 coincidences all back to back to get me to where I am today…too much to just call it luck. I believe there is something more then chance….and well, the formula seems to be working pretty good so far

Let’s see..it’s a marketplace. You create and put out there a product, people are coming in with the pre-existing intention to search and buy such a product, if they like and find your product useful..sales are happening. And I get the satisfying feeling of a subtle inner “yay” in at least the two basic aspects of it: financial need and the feeling of satisfaction which comes from the fact that what you create finds a response and a crowd.

Pretty boring way of thinking or just realistic, that’s it, no ‘supernatural’ associations or anything like that. cause and effect, offer and demand and all that. I just hope that at some point I’ll be able to put more effort in it and make it bigger, I wouldn’t mind at all to be able to make my whole living out of it. So as long as sales keep happening, I guess the only association that happens along with the “yay” is the potential I see for it to take it to a bigger scale, if I can (time wise) at some point.

The marketplace on AJ is still a book with seven seals to me. I’m often sitiing in the studio, composing something and find my self thinking “cool, this is a catchy tune, it will probably sell nicely”. After uploading it, it’s not selling at all Sometimes i just do something random with no idea where it will lead to and beeing not even sure, if i should upload it to AJ. After doing so, realising it sells very well

So, to me the marketplace is a bit like playing black jack in the casino
