Dear Marketplace community, we have some exciting changes happening on our Community Team that we’d really like to share with you! We’d also like to give you a little more insight into how our team represents our entire community of talented authors and dedicated buyers. Not only that, if you keep reading, you’ll hear about a great opportunity to come and join us on the team and work for Envato!
Building the Dream Team!
Communications Specialist – Meet Scott!
Many of you will know me already but if not, where have you been for the past 8 years?! I have a new position on the Community Team as a Communication Specialist as I am personally stepping away from the Community Manager position to help support having the position based in our Melbourne headquarters. The past 12 months or so as remote manager in the USA for a team spread across four different continents has been a fantastic experience and journey! Unfortunately however, this just was not sustainable long term due to the many, long days working all day in the US timezone and then into the evenings to coincide with the AUS timezone. I’m extremely happy to report however that I will be staying-on within the team in my new role. I’ll continue to bring you great comms about exciting new projects, and as much transparency as possible (without letting our competitors know all our secrets of course!) throughout the continual refinement of the Marketplace experience!
Community Manager – Meet Nat!
We’ve been scouring the world to find a replacement for the Community Manager position and we’ve found a bright, sparkling, diamond who we know you’re going to love! I’d like to introduce you to Natalia Manidis. Nat brings over 6-years of community experience with her having previously worked for international translation company Gengo and also one of the world’s most well-known non-profit organizations, Oxfam. Nat is looking forward to getting to know you all and making sure your ideas and priorities are continually represented internally and that Envato continues to listen to and consider everything you have to say with all the many projects that affect you.
Elite Author Program Manager – Meet Dan!
Our Elite Author program manager, Dan Michael, is also moving across to our team! As all our Elite Authors can verify, Dan’s super friendly and helpful disposition will be a great plus for our entire community. Having Dan part of the Community Team is really going to help consolidate and improve the author experience here at Envato, not only at the Elite level, but from the very first moment an author submits their first item to our Marketplace. Our Elite program is growing so exponentially that some of our new authors reading this today will be seasoned Elite authors before you know it and we can’t wait to help guide and assist you along the way!
Community Officers – Meet Travis & Calin!
Most of you reading this will already be familiar with our truly dedicated Community Officers, Travis and Calin. They not only interact with you all via our forums and on social media each day, but they also help ensure our forum conversation remains fresh, friendly and on-topic. Our dynamic duo also help moderate thousands of item comments each week and attend to all the flagged forum messages each day. What you might not know however is that, Calin and Travis, along with the rest of the team, play a huge role in documenting and championing everything you guys like, what you want to see more of, and ensuring there’s less of what you want to get rid of.
Some of you may be wondering where our former team member D’zinc is. Sadly (for us!), D’zinc has decided to hang up his Community Officer hat to travel the world. D’zinc, like Calin and myself, started out as a community member who was so enamoured by our community that he wanted to help improve it. We’re going to miss D’zinc a huge amount but a little bird tells us that we will probably see him back as an author on GraphicRiver inbetween his new adventures around the world. Let’s hope so! On behalf of the team and our entire community here, D’zinc, we salute you and wish you well!
Want to Join Us?
With D’zinc off to see the world, we’re currently hiring for a Community Officer position on our team! If it has always been your dream to work for Envato and you are passionate about serving our community to help them succeed, now is the perfect time to join us! We are looking for someone passionate about our Marketplaces who is reliable, a team-player, and has fantastic communication skills. This is a part-time (20-hours per week), compensated position, and it doesn’t matter where in the world you live as we are a distributed team and encourage remote working. There are many people currently working for Envato that began life as a passionate community member so we know the right candidate could be right on our doorstep! We look forward to hearing from you if you are interested in this position!
What We DoIn the coming months, our focus will be to further refine our roles, vision and strategy with the overall of goal of helping you, our community, to succeed. While that’s going on, and as always, we welcome your feedback.
Your voice, your thoughts, your likes and your dislikes are hugely important to us. It’s important to keep talking to us. It’s important to be honest with us. It’s important to be patient but to know that all that you’ve told us and all that you continue to tell us, is always noticed. It’s always recorded. It’s always represented.
We know that there are many opportunities for improvement on the Marketplaces. Many of which are thanks to you and the time and effort you’ve taken to bring it to our attention. Please don’t ever stop. We encourage it. We don’t want this feedback and dialog to ever stop.
We cannot thank you enough for your drive, your passion, your patience, and your fervor for our Marketplaces. Thank you! We feel and share your passion for wanting to make our Marketplaces the best they can be.
We look forward to representing your feedback as passionately as you share it with us.
