Mine?
I Freeeeeaaakkin LOVE IT !
There is so much talent on this site and it will make life for sooo many designers so much easier.
When a client asks me for a logo, I refer the work on to my friend (I’m terrible at logo illustration) – this is a godsend!
My personal favourites are by Rayzong, and personally i think he’ll be a key player in the category!
what are your thoughts?
I really enjoy doing logo design. I already have 4 logos approved and I have a ton more that I am working on.
Similar to Viz, I’m still against it. The whole category is cluttered with low-quality/generic/logos. Every now and then a winner shines through, but it’s not too often.
I strongly support the idea of a new marketplace for brands. Branding is such an important part of design that it shouldn’t be scattered here and there across a “graphic” marketplace.

Calling out specific authors in the forums and saying their files are crappy is not cool – hence the disabled post.

I’m liking what Xtortionist is putting out there, I loved seeing that Anglefish (didn’t realise it was you at first!)
Calling out users is not cool, a generalisation would do

Well I didn’t post any names
Anyways, this is basically what I said, with the offending paragraph omitted:
I’m still against it

I don’t really see how. I doubt a professional designer would buy a stock logo here and then give it to a client (Hopefully not, anyways). And companies that buy these stock logos (Some already being used by other businesses), are in many cases settling for a generic, low-quality, inferior product which is neither unique, nor a good choice for their business. They might be saving some money upfront – but in the long run it could be damaging to their company when it turns out that there are 20 (or 100? or more?) other businesses with essentially the same logo. Envato is, in a way, exploiting their ignorance.
There is also the fact that professional logo designers (e.g The people who understand that a quality logo takes time, skill, and a great deal of cross-communication to create) are losing clients and income because of it, which makes me kind of surprised and disappointed that Envato- the same company that runs FreelanceSwitch – has created the category in the first place. A logo shouldn’t be sold to multiple people, it’s a bad deal for the buyers, and it’s detrimental to the industry as a whole – an industry that all authors here on Graphicriver are a part of.
Just my 2¢
At first, just like a lot people posted, I was against the idea and agreed with most, if not all, of the arguments against adding the new category.
But having seen and liked some of the newer submissions and actually giving more thought thought to the issue, I’ve changed my mind. As a logo designer, I don’t agree that this is going to lose me business. Let’s face it, if someone only has $29 to spend on a logo, they can’t afford my prices for a custom logo anyway. So the people who would be buying logos from here, or any other stock logo site are not the clients I’d be targeting my skills at.
Given the amount of work which needs to go into designing a custom logo, I can’t see how anyone could provide that service for as little as $29 so I don’t see how Envato could be taking clients away from professional logo designers.
I do agree with concerns about selling the logos multiple times though – it would be nice to at least have the option for a one-time sell for those savvy customers who are wary of buying a logo that countless others may also buy and use.
