Hi again
- I’m facing a problem with blog pages being generated where I can’t find them. I created a page called, “blog” under pages and assigned it the blog template theme. Then I went into the theme options for Viewpoint and I selected, “Blog” under “Page used for the blog page.” However, when I did that, it created two pages in my navigation menu -one was the page I created, and the other one was blog-1. I did this three times so now I have blog-2 and blog-3 too, but I have no idea how to find them or how to remove these extra pages? So, how do I: remove these random pages that the blog created? And also add a blog page to the navigation menu which displays my posts?
Make sure the blog page isn’t selected in ViewPoint theme options panel > Navigation
Sorry, I don’t know why my comment appeared with strikethrough but you can also see it here: brightlobe.com
Also, I’m now on Chrome receiving “Thanks your message has been received” by default on the contact form. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
Try reinstalling the theme
FinalDestiny
Thank you for your immediate responses. For the portfolio section, do you have a plugin that will allow for multiple images per modal? And video? at the moment as is, its only 1 image per thumbnail.
Also, is there an option for pagination on the portfolio section?
THANKS !
Not by default, sorry, maybe in the future releases. If you want a more advanced portfolio function, you might consider using a 3rd party plugin.
FinalDestiny
Yikes. Thats tough. Ok. Is it possible to implement these if i do in fact find a third-party plugin? In other words, is it flexible enough
this theme should support all the plugins well-coded.
Hi there, I created a page called, “Notebook” and then selected “Blog Page Template.” It shows up on the menu, which is fine, but then it shows up as a normal category instead of linking to another page with all the posts on it. How do I fix this? Any help is appreciated and thanks for the quick replies.
Don’t select it in the theme options panel > Navigation, select it in the General tab -> Page used for the blog page
The URL by the way is the same as in previous comments.
answered below
Hi there. I love this theme and have had very few hiccups while customizing it. Great job!
I have two straight forward issues:
1. The contact form “Submit” button does nothing when clicked
2. On smartphones… the Nav buttons are unresponsive unless you scroll up or down first
Thoughts?
Thanks!
1) URL ? Are you using the theme on a subdomain / subdirectory? 2) Are you using the latest theme release?
Hi again,
I did exactly what you said to do. I did not select it in the navigation panel, all I did was select blog page template when I went to make a page. It still doesn’t respond by changing the page. What do I do?
send me a wordpress admin account via the contact form on my profile, include the URL as well + the issue again and I’ll take a look on it
FinalDestiny
1.how do you erase the “Blog” section? 2.how can I take off the letter “P” and diamond-like shape that it sits in thats in between the menu at the top of the site? thanks
1) Go to the theme options panel and simply don’t select any page for the blog 2) Add this to style.css:
span.logo { display: none !important; }
FinalDestiny
Thank you for your response. The theme options aren’t allowing me to not unselect a page, so the BLOG button keeps showing up. What do you recommend? Thanks again!
send me a wordpress admin account via the contact form on my profile and I’ll take a look on it . Please mention the website’s login url and the problem again
Hello, Did you saw that on you theme became a problem with Twitter Messages in about page. Didnt show a latest tweet on page. In you theme sample link same sh*t. Please Can you check that problem what happened?
Go to functions.php and find:
replace it with
I sent you the relevant details and would really appreciate if you could look into it soon. Thanks.
I’ve probably answered you via e-mail
FinalDestiny
Thank you soo much for taking the time to look into my issue. Your awesome for that!
1 last thing (hopefully), I tried changing the background image, and in the control panel it looks like it loaded, but its not showing up on the site. Any idea whats wrong? thanks again
Make sure the colorization option is enabled and not disabled.
Hey FinalDestiny, I like your theme very much, but I’ve got some issues with shortcodes (is the experience-shortcode missing? I rebuild it using a DIV -structure) and – most important – with the contact form. Is the form supposed to work (send) out of the box or is something wrong or todo with a script? I filled out the “contact form e-mail”-field in ViewPoint > General Setting with several working adresses but no message never ever was delivered (although the form responded the mail was sent).
Another thing: On an iPad2 (Safari and Chrome) the Parallax Scrolling doesnt work properly when used in panorama mode: the logo/header section shows up overlaying everything while scrolling the site both, manually and via nav. In portrait mode the scrolling is fine…
But when in portrait mode some DIVs start to disappear (e.x the iMac in your WORK section).
Any help appreciated! Please!!
thx Pete
Link to the site (work in progress) http://www.dasdesignbureau.de/The iMac slider is supposed to dissapear on devices with smaller width. As for the overflow issue, are you using the latest theme release? Does it happen on my demo too? For the contact form, do you use the theme on a subdomain? Is the theme folder name called “ViewPoint”?
Is it possible to install a drop down menu?
Not right now, unfortunately.
Kudos on a great theme.
I’m having problems getting basic text styling (bold, italics, etc) and line breaks to render. I’m editing content via the HTML editor, and though the code is there and sound once I publish, the theme seems to ignore any styling or breaks.
Any ideas?
if you’re using them in the shortcodes, edit them in includes/shortcodes.php:
return do_shortcode(strip_tags($content, "<h1><h2><h3><h4><h5><h6><a><img /><div><ul><li><ol><table><td /><th><span><p><iframe>")); the allowed tags</p></span></th></table></ol></li></ul></div></a></h6></h5></h4></h3></h2></h1>FinalDestiny you have been super super helpful, so hats off. Just wondering, i’m trying to add a new page to my site, but not a [blog] page… i want to add an [about me] page, and give it a button at the top. I’ve tried doing it, the same way i created the [my work section] but it doesnt seem to be working.
what am i doing wrong?
MILLION thanks!
Why don’t you just create a new page and select it in the theme options panel -> Navigation?
I have a pre-purchase question if I may have it answered please.
I would like to go a bit deeper into the portfolio by giving each item its own page once it’s picture is clicked (Any suggestions for a picture for a code file?) giving each item it’s own possibly detailed description and perhaps a view and/or download link. I also would not wish to have these pages show up on site-wide navigation but only via clicking through the Portfolio page.
I absolutely love the design, I’m a developer and am not up-to-par on the design side. This really helps me out!
You can use the same portfolio layout as you see on the homepage but instead of having the lightbox show up when you click on the picture, you can have it linked to a separate page. Check page 11, at the bottom, I added the code for it there
I must apologize FinalDestiny, I do not see anything about editing the lightbox to bring it to a “hidden” page. I only seen you mention how to add HTML into the caption, which would not help with my use case.
Oh, sorry, I just saw it’s about ViewPoint. No problem, I can do the modification for you if you’ll send me the wordpress details via the contact form on my profile.
BUT , make sure that’s what you want. So you’ll have the same layout as the homepage, but, instead of getting the photo in a lightbox when clicking on it, you’ll be redirected to another page where you can add anything you want(another post, page, etc)
Response to “Why don’t you just create a new page and select it in the theme options panel -> Navigation?”
I can do that, but then it will replace [MY WORK ] page. I need to add an additional page, with its own button in the menu nav. please help
thanks
I don’t understand, if you’ll add a new page to the menu, it won’t replace another one, it will just add a new one.
