Hi, is it possible to link up the header text in the homepage to a post or home? or add a widget to the homepage?
which header text? can you elaborate? And no, it’s not possible to add a sidebar to the homepage by default
You know the text that says “Welcome The Force is strong with this one In my experience, there is no such thing as luck. I must face him, alone.” in the home page?
It’s it possible to make this as a link to a page? I wanted to make it like a news section to display here, but i cannot do a rotating text a simple link would already help a lot.
go to header.php and find:
<h1><?php echo $viewpoint['topheader_text'];?></h1> <h1 class="smallh1"><?php echo $viewpoint['topheader_smalltext'];?></h1> <h1 class="smallerh1"><?php echo $viewpoint['topheader_smallertext'];?></h1>replace it with:
<h1><a href="YOUR URL HERE"><?php echo $viewpoint['topheader_text'];?></a></h1> <h1 class="smallh1"><a href="YOUR URL HERE"><?php echo $viewpoint['topheader_smalltext'];?></a></h1> <h1 class="smallerh1"><a href="YOUR URL HERE"><?php echo $viewpoint['topheader_smallertext'];?></a></h1>Hi Thanks a lot for the great theme. I have some questions. I would like to set up my portfolio. I ve seen the shortcodes but where do i have to paste them? Also I would really love to have a slider on the intro background, is it possible? if yes, where do I have to paste the shortcodes? Thanks a lot for your reply, alison
For the slider, unfortunately it’s not possible by default. As for the shortcodes, they need to be added in the page content.
Ok but for the portfolio, what do I have to do? What s the page affected as portfolio?
What do you mean? You can use the portfolio shortcodes in any page content you want, check the docs for the syntax
Hi FinalDestiny, pre-purchase question here. We were drawn to your Impress theme for the parallax effect, but like the Viewpoint theme for load time and responsiveness. However, the specs list Viewpoint as a parallax theme, and I can’t see any parallax effect on Viewpoint’s preview at all.
It was removed due to some compatibility issues with mobile devices and tablets under iOS, I’ll add a little work-around for desktops like on SCRN in the next update(probably this weekend or next week)
Hey FinalDestiny!
I’ve tried a few times to change the BIG TEXT on the homepage, but its not working for me. Any ideas?
Hm, are you using any caching plugin? IF yes, try clearing your cache
Hi there -
New to WP themes but quickly figuring them out. Love this theme and want to build website using it (so haven’t bought yet but looking to do so quickly!). Quick questions though (apologies if this is a bit newbie):
Thanks in advance!
1) 3-4 pages in the menu? You can choose any number of pages you want 2) Yes, this is a WordPress theme, not a static html template so you can use it anywhere you want 3) with some customization yes, but I can’t support customization requests unfortunately, you’ll need to put the code in header.php
Much appreciated for the quick reply. Done – will purchase soon
I have tried creating a child theme from your template and done an @import for all CSS from parent theme. However, smooth scrolling and some CSS is missing in the child theme. Do you have a fix for creating a child theme?
answered via e-mail
Has anyone created a child theme of ViewPoint? If so, what needs changed to make the JS and CSS work correctly 100% site wide? So far, when I activate the child theme, most of the CSS is there and functioning, but some is incorrect (like the main nav) and the JS functionality does not work, like smooth scrolling. The only option I can see is to use the native theme but that makes theme updates dangerous. Any suggestions?
check your e-mail, please don’t post the same thing 2 times, via e-mail and on the site, it won’t help you get a better reply, it only slows me down from answering the other tickets.
Hello,
I’m interested in buying your theme, but I have few questions before to do so:
- does it work with WPML language translator?
- can I use it for a layer firm website for example, with regular licence?
- is it possible, in the blog, to get the top menu bar as in the rest of page when you scroll down?
- in the mobile version (seen on iPhone), there is an orange line on top and the home menu shows on two rows: the two lines on top/under the word are superimposing above one another: would it be possible to fix it and get read of the orange line?
Thanks!
- wpml is a commercial plugin, I didn’t check it with that one, but qTranslate should work fine - you can use it with any niche you want, just read the regular license explanation, one website = one regular license. - no, the menu bar only works when the divs with the content exist, so on the blog page they won’t exist, since it’s a separate page - yes, you can remove the orange line with some css code. as for the other issue, I’ll need a screenshot and it can be fixed.
WOW NICE Theme! Curious, can the level of parallax be changed (more extreme) and is it woocommerce compatible (I’d like to sell a few products on) and also can fonts be changed?
Thnks!! I have to select a one pager, parallax by tonight and luv this one but need to know these things
GRT WORK
-Stelring
I removed the parallax effect in the latest update, it can be added back with some minor css changes but it won’t work fine on mobile devices / tablets(iOS mostly).
Love the theme What framework is this built on ?
If you’re reffering to the html “framework”, it’s bootstrap. For the theme options I used the NHP framework.
I meant skeleton, not bootstrap, sorry.
When it says ( widget ready : no ) does that mean you cant add widgets ?
Yes, there’s no place for widgets/a sidebar.
Great theme FinalDestiny! I’ve played around with this all day and I’m really liking it. I have a few short questions that I thought it’ll be easy for you to answer
. Just to get you warmed up
1. If I don’t want the contact me section (and even taking it away from the menu bar), how do I do that? 2. if i want to delete one menu bar option (for example ‘services’ in your live demo), how would I do that? 3. some reason [twitter_updates] shortcode doesn’t work. Any clues? Any additional plugins I need to download for it to work? I’ve entered my twitter handle already in the ViewPoint options page
Thanks!
Please send me your requests along with a wordpress admin username + your dashboard url via the contact form on my profile and I’ll fix them.
Great – will send over shortly, probably by the end of today. Cheers on this.
I am creating a very simple wedding details website and I would like to remove “Blog” from the navigation menu (because we will not be blogging) Under the ViewPoint options it does not appear so I cannot deselect it. How can I remove “Blog” from my navigation menu?
Here’s the site: abbeyandtony.com
Press on CTRL and deselect all the options
I have deselected all options and nothing has changed. There are only 3 pages that appear in the View Point navigation settings—the 3 that I have created. “Blog” and “Contact” are not visible in the settings, so I cannot deselect them. It says that your settings will only control the navigation if I am not using the Appearance > Menus. But that is also not visible. Is there a way I can turn on the default menu settings so that I can manage the navigation from there?
I would also like to remove the footer contact entirely.
No, that’sn ot possible. Contact is not a page, it’s added automatically. Do you want to remove this section?
As for blog, it only appears if you selected one blog page in the General section of the theme options panel.
For question 2: to elaborate, I don’t want to take the page away, but just the option on the menu bar. 3. I figured it out! – had to get into the function.php code per some other comments on this forum.
Well, you can create the menu in Appearance > Menus
Awesome. Thanks!
You’re welcome
Hello!
I finally purchased your theme and I’m having some trouble/questions:
- The “menu” option disappear from “appearance” when I activate your theme (but comes back when another theme is activated): how can I have it back on your theme, I prefer to set the menu with “menu” options because I need a specific order for the pages
- I need to have a logo instead of the letter: how is it possible to change?
- In the address I would like to have the zip code and city below, but it seems that html doesn’t work for it
Thanks
1) The menu option in appearance is not available in viewpoint 3) Go to index.php and find:
replace it with:
and you can now use html tags
2) Add this to style.css:
span.logotext { font-size: 0 !important; }and edit the logo image located in images/logo.png
Hello
1) Ok, but how can I get an ordered menu. Right now I’m working on a temprary site http://devargas.com.es/ascliente2/ the different parts are almost in order, but “área de actividad” that should go 3rd position in the top menu shows nearly at the end, but, inside the page, it is where it should be. How can I move it in the menu? As far as I can see, it’s not an alphabetical order, neither by date
2) OK, see how it goes
3) OK
Thanks!
Use the Order input field that shows up on each page, that’s what the theme uses to order the menu items http://prntscr.com/m0aht
I would also like to handle menu items via the admin Appearance > Menu tab, which by default does not appear for this theme.
Regarding the Contact Form, I see some snippets for form validation but nothing happens when a user submits a form without valid content or empty fields.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The form is submitted only when the details are corrected. And, the menus can only be handled in the theme options panel.
In index.php, there’s an error statement ‘Please fill in all required fields’. Shouldn’t empty fields trigger that to appear?
That’s from the html version, I forgot to remove it, since it was using a different technique for the mail section.
Two simple questions first before sending complicated ones to you via contact form: 1) how do you get breaks in text?
doesn’t seem to work that well for paragraph text 2) I can’t see Appearance>Menus after I downloaded this theme. Any thoughts on why and how to bring it back up?
1) Where do you want to add some line breaks? 2) WP Menus are not supported, you’ll need to use the options in the theme options panel.
Hello (sorry, I’m posting it again because I can’t find your previous answer)

I already replied your previous message
Hey Final Destiny – sent you an email with more details. Help appreciated!
Ok, will reply you there
Hello, I also would like the option for portfolio thumbnails to link to an outside URL. Is that possible?
Right now no, sorry, maybe in a future update
