Hi quick question,

I know the theme is based on the 960 grid but are there shortcodes for 1/4, 1/2, 1/3 of the page etc. ? thanks

AndonDesign

Hi,

I have not included 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 in the typography, however if you know a bit of HTML and CSS it would be very easy to accomplish any width you’d like, for example:
<div style="float:left; width:320px; padding:20px 0;">Your text goes here...</div>
<div style="float:left; width:320px; padding:20px 0;">Your text goes here...</div>
Or use percentages for width. The above code will give you perfect two columns in the content area where the total width is 640px. You could also use the 960 grid to accomplish that.

You are the second person that asked me that. I wonder if I should include shortcodes for columns in the next update or just post code samples like this in the typography demo page?

Thanks for the quick reply! I can only speak for myself but if you had the shortcodes for that and had demo it I already would have bought the template.

Being new to these themes I’m not sure if I’m making too much of the shortcodes or not??? But it’s pretty sweet when you see one or two of the themes here with 50+ shortcodes…

Oh, one more thing, as I’m still learning about all this, I’m seeing some people ask if certain themes portfolios can support video…does this one? Thanks again for a great theme…still contemplating the purchase!!!

AndonDesign

Yes, supports video, I just uploaded a couple of vimeo demos to the Portfolio page. You could upload YouTube, flash video, etc.

By the way, I just released another theme with more features, I’m not sure if it suits the look you’re looking for, here’s the theme’s page

Thanks for your efforts,

Eugenia

ps Can I contact you for some freelance work? Thanks

AndonDesign

Thanks for choosing my theme, I’m always available for support, but I’m not too available for freelance work this month (June). If you’re not in a rush, contact me toward the end of the month.

If you’d like you could email me with details of what you need done and I’ll let you know if I’ll be able to fit it in my schedule.

internq7,

I am sorry to bother you so soon for something I must be missing.

Where do I upload the PSD folder/files to on my server? Cand I upload the PSD zip from WordPress like I did with the themes zip?

Thanks, Eugenia

AndonDesign

Please refer to the FAQ section here

Eugenia Purchased

internq7, I did the whole video thing and read everything in the FAQ ’s but unless I am totally braindead [which is possible !! ] I don’t see anything about where the PSD files get uploaded. Sorry! Thanks, Eugenia

AndonDesign

Oh, no, you don’t need to upload the PSD , the PSD stays for your reference on your computer. Open the folder Documentation that came with the zip file with my theme and then open the ‘index.html’, there you’ll see instructions with screenshots

internq7, Boy do I feel stupid!! Thanks so much for your prompt reply. Thanks ! Eugenia

To All Potential Buyers of this Theme.

I highly recommend Andon [ internq7 ] for reasonably priced freelance custom work. He is patient and reliable.

The theme itself is simply a work of art. Period !

Just wondering if Trackbacks has been left out of this theme deliberately or whether I might have a problem :) I suspect it’s been left out on purpose, but maybe it’s something I’ve installed that causes them not to show up.

I’m also wondering whether it counts the spammers as comments.. I have about 191 comments in my spam box, and on the posts, it comes up as let’s say for example.. “3 comments”, but there aren’t actually any comments, because they were all spammers, so nothing shows but the title saying “3 comments” show.

If I “allow” one of these spam comments through, their comment shows up, but it still says “3 comments”, even though there is only 1 comment..

I hope that makes sense :)

Kind Regards,

Penny

PS – This is still the best wordpress theme I’ve ever used and I’ve never been more happy with a theme or the support – ever. Kept meaning to come back and comment.. sorry that the praise came with a couple of questions attached!

AndonDesign

Hi Penny,

if you would like to include trackbacks with your comments or separate them from comments you’ll have to edit the comments.php file, in there look for this line:
<?php wp_list_comments('type=comment&callback=mytheme_comment'); ?>

If you want all, then just replace “comment” with “all”, like this : type=all

You can fine more info on this function here

Hey there, as others have posted, great theme.

Quick question: I am having difficulty locating the css for the text in the navigation bar. I have changed the background images and now the text color is too light. I am using theme style #4. Where will i find this?

Thanks in advance.

AndonDesign

Hi,

look in styles/style4/css/style.css around line #’s 1468, or starting with the id: ”#dropdown-holder”

Hi there,

I really love this theme and was thinking of purchasing it. I just have a quick question for you, is it possible and easy to make use of @font-face or cufon fonts in your theme?

Thank you very much

AndonDesign

Hi,

the theme is already using cufon fonts. You could replace the current ones with yours. The cufon fonts are mostly used for title headings.

I can give you instructions on how to replace them with your own.

Hi,

I have the same issue as Mona8.

I am trying to add my own cufon font.. I did the following but the font still did not change:

1. Generated a cufont font using: http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/

2. Placed the font in the folder under scripts/cufon

3. Modified the file script.js with the following:

Cufon.set(‘fontFamily’, ‘Space Age’);

The font did change, however, to something like Arial (which is the fall-back font I believe).

Thanks for your help!

AndonDesign

Check out the instructions on the cufon site: http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/ It might key how you refer to the font name, perhaps the name should match the cufon generated file name.

Here’s good video tutorial on implementing cufon:

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the help.

I watched the video and had actually done exactly the same steps, except for when he was editing the index.html file and adding some js code. I looked for that, but couldn’t find it.

I also tried different fonts directly from my windows\fonts folder and couldn’t get it to work by simply adding the font to the cufon folder and editing the script.js file to have it display that font for the headers.

Any help?

Thanks

AndonDesign

Please contact me through my profile page to discuss other options.

In the Widget I added a optin form from Get Response. I get ”>>” at the name, email etc. parts of the form. That is the same ”>>” that are placed before the categories in the sidebar widget. Is there a way to remove the ”>>” completely so it does not interfere with the fom?

Thanks

AndonDesign
You could always find out what the CSS control the look and feel for the form or if there are none defined, you could overwrite what’s being inherited from the theme’s CSS with adding ”!important”, e.g.:
background-image:none !important;

Hey There,

You gave this tip about excluding pages from the nave bar.

Yes, you can exclude any page(s) from the menu. You’re going to have to edit the ‘header.php’ around line # 91. Define a comma-separated list of Page IDs to be excluded (example: ‘exclude=3,7,31’)

< ?php echo pages_without_title_attribute(‘exclude=3,7,31&depth=....

don’t forget the ‘&’ at the end.”

Try as I may I cannot find this line of code in the header.php to insert the excluded pages. What am i missing?

AndonDesign

Hi,

Good question!

The piece of code was moved to functions.php now because of the new WP3 .0 menu, you should be able to find near the beginning of the functions.php file where I’ve setup the menu.

One more thing: I am having trouble getting images and videos to center on the page. Is there a particular style that i need to include?

Thanks.

Need your Help again!

Having trouble with the sidebar widgets. Seems when I insert any kind of link in the Text widget, the image or text with the hyperlink is indented about 30-40 pixels and is underlined. This is playing havoc with the Twitter widget and any other links I would like to insert.

Obviously this is something in the style.css but I cannot seem to find it.

You can see what i am talking about by visiting: http://thelocalonlinemarketingguy.com/estrategies/permission-based-marketing

Scroll down, left-hand side you’ll see what I mean. Should be the last thing I need assistance with.

Love the theme by the way.

AndonDesign

Wow,

you’ve done a great job customizing the theme!

For the twitter widget, try this:
.twtr-doc, .twtr-hd a, h3, #twtr-widget-1 h4, .twtr-popular, .twtr-ft a, .twtr-ft a:visited {
    border-bottom:none;
}

Thanks, I really appreciate that. Like I said, I love the theme. I just seem to be getting stuck in a few places.;)

I appreciate the fix for The Twitter widget. Where do you suggest I add that style? Also, what about the other images and text in the sidebar that have links associated with them, is there an easy fix for them as well?

AndonDesign

Hi,

you can always add the css to the end of the style.css.

Which other images are you talking about, I’m not sure?

Which other images are you talking about, I’m not sure?

I took the images out of the side widget, the formatting looked terrible. I’ve added some social network moyens in the sidebar so you can see what i mean. the images are indented about 30-40 pixels and underlined when they are hyperlinked. Same thing with the text. I would rater these images and text display without the indent or underline. It makes it impossible to have 2 images aligned next to each other. You can see what I mean here:

http://thelocalonlinemarketingguy.com/estrategies

Scroll down, you’ll see them under the Twitter widget.

Thanks again in advance.

P.S. That style for the twitter widget did not work. i think it’s the same issue as above that is causing the problem.

AndonDesign

Hi,

for the twitter widget, it DID work for the version of the widget you had setup a couple of days ago. I see now you’ve changed the twitter widget a bit, there was no way for me to have known all possibilities of the widget’s formatting, I suggest look at various versions of it and add the classes or id’s used by the widget to the css code I gave you previously.

Regarding the social icons in the sidebar you’ve added, I looked at the HTML behind them and they have no css formatting therefore they inherit the general sidebar formatting, you need to overwrite it. I suggest you add some css to them to format them the way you like.
