One more: If I change the Blog Page to the_excerpt(), it defaults to the excerpt length that is set in the options panel. If I increase the excerpt length in the options panel any sidebar or footer widgets I show “Recent Posts with excerpts” will be affected by this. Is there a way to override the options panel by adding an excerpt length for just the blog page?
Good looking theme – very easy to get started. I am having some difficulty, though, embedding my own forms on pages.
When I try to put a pair of fields next to each other:
Your name: inputThey always end up with the firstName input, then on the next line the lastName input.
It seems to me this is a .css issue. Am I correct? Is there something I can do to fix this?
Hi,
everything comes down to you ability to work with HTML and CSS , I suggest you go through some examples and tutorials online, which the web is abundant of, demonstrating to you how you can manipulate HTML elements, etc.
Here’s a bunch of resources that might help:Basic HTML /XHTML and CSS :

Yeah – thanks for the helpful reply.
OK – I’m going to ignore the first reply, condescending as it was, and try this again … since I paid my money a feel that I deserve a more useful answer.
I have scoured your .css for a fair amount of time last night and this morning without finding WHAT is causing my input fields to be separated by a
<br />(WHICH I DIDN ’T PUT THERE ) and why my input fields are limited to 152 px wide.
I created a DIV with a unique class … that div has a width of 100%, which by my calculations should be in the vicinity of 625px if it is placed in the regular content area of a page. Within that DIV , I have placed two fields like such:
<div class="cjrForm" id="ownerForm"> <input name="firstName" id="firstName" type="text" placeholder="First Name" /> <input name="lastName" id="lastName" type="text" placeholder="Last Name" /> </div>
But when the page is rendered the code looks like this:
<div class="cjrForm" id="ownerForm"> <input name="firstName" id="firstName" type="text" placeholder="First Name" /> <br /> <input name="lastName" id="lastName" type="text" placeholder="Last Name" /> </div>
Now it should be pretty apparent to anyone reading this … even with a basic understanding of html / css … that you have SOMETHING in your css which is overriding my desired formatting. I can’t find what that is.
All I’m asking is what that might be and how I can override it within my DIV ?
Some specific assistance would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi,
can you email me with a link to the page in question and I’ll see what the problem in this situation is. You can send me an email through my Profile page. Scroll down the page (bottom right) and you’ll see the contact form in there.
Thanks
Situation resolved. Apparently this is quite an ongoing issue with WP – NOT with THIS THEME !
My apologies – I had no idea WP could be at the core of the issue. The theme is solid … WP is entirely the culprit here.
WP has had an ongoing bad habit of inserting unwanted paragraph and line break tags in pages and posts for YEARS . One would think that I would have run in to this sooner while hosting and maintaining over 20 WP sites, but this was my first encounter of the worst kind.
The FIX is a plugin called “Disable wpautop”
http://www.urbangiraffe.com/plugins/disable-wpautopI hope this helps anyone else who may encounter the problem. And a big THANK YOU to internq7 for following up and checking my project promptly to help me nail down what was going on!
Jeff
Well I am back and ‘stuck’ on another specific relating to this theme. I set up a class for a table I’m rendering … yes, a real data table according to the intended use of tables … not a table to ‘shortcut’ layout. The table has its’ own unique class and in the .css I have been trying to force some padding for the text as it all slams right up against the 1px left border. Can’t get it to work – it seems like something in the theme css may be “forcing its’ will” on my table.
Any thoughts? I just need a couple pixels,
Thanks for whatever help you can offer!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
I’ll ask you to email me a link to the page in question where you have the table. You can send me an email through my Profile page. Scroll down the page (bottom right) and you’ll see the contact form in there.
Regards P.S. Please include the above description of the issue in that email

- Exclusive Author
- Sold between 100 and 1 000 dollars
- Bought between 1 and 9 items
Now with the launch of Wordpress 3.3 I hope all will be fine with this template…
Me ready to upgrade to WP 3 .3
and yes I have another question….
If I change to template U-Design will it be lot of work to synchronise the theme (...offf that will be lot of work
)
I am really sorry to be here again with an issue….
Since I upgraded to 3.3 I see the menu shows a little different. If you visit the home page, the “Home” as well as the “Download” button is highlighted.
Check: http://lucknowwebs.com
And some of the pages when visited do not have the menu button highlighted… 1) What I enjoy 2) Tutorials
Any help will be appreciated.
Hi,
I just double checked and the menu works fine with WP3 .3., so this must be specific to your install. Try setting up your menu from the “Appearance -> Menus” system.More here:

if this doesn’t help then I’ll need backend admin access to your site to have a look. You can send me an email through my Profile page. Scroll down the page (bottom right) and you’ll see the contact form in there.

Hi, just purchased , looking good, most is covered, but can’t seem to find how to switch styles – no doubt it will be me – but can you point me in right direction.
Many thanks
Wow – nice quick response bro – I had view set to one column and once I changed to 2 it show up – many thanks
Could also not find the point, where I could change the colorstyle. (WP 3.3.1-de_DE).
Hi, sorry I think I have flagged your answer as inappropriate, this was not my intention. I have misunderstanded the ‘report’ function. Your answer solved my problem and I am happy!
Instead I would ask, if you know any function to do a search over the comments at the themforest site.

Sorry I am a WP newby. At the BACKend at ‘Design-Menu’ I cannot remove an item, i.e. page, from an existing menu. I am not sure if this is an issue of the theme. But perhaps you can help me.
Hi,
if you use the new WordPress menu system it’s super easy to manipulate the menu items, here’s a tutorial on how to use it.

Hi, nice video – but does not answer my question how to remove an item i.e. page from an existing menu.

Hi, getting on well with putting all this together, but have 1 silly issue on home page, template is set to default, but the homepage widgets (the three for the central copy) refuse to show anything – tried plain text, calendar etc etc but nothing shows – have you any ideas where I might have lost the plot – all the best
Hi, unfortunately that only allows posts to appear on that page – nothing appears from the widgets – tried turning off plugins one by one, and then all – still no joy – any ideas?
thanks
Hey there, just bought the theme – great job
I was wondering how it would be possible to disable cufon? I’m looking to just use plain text/Arial.
Thanks
Hi,
thanks for choosing my theme!!
Please email me and I’ll give you the instructions. You can send me an email through my Profile page.

Hi, I am using the portfolio template of a page. In my post I have inserted the image as explained in your documentation.
If I select the portfolio page at fontend I see only the image, no content text, no excerpt and no excerpt link to the post.
Is this an issue of me, wordpress or theme? Can I change this behaviour?
Regards
Hi,
please refer to the Documentation that came with the theme on how to setup the Portfolio section, it should be under section “D) Portfolio Section”. In there you would find a description on how to add description to Portfolio items with the help of custom field “itemDescription”.
Regards
Thank you very much, you are all right – it runs well after this change!
My first impression about your theme is very good!
Also a commendation for the professional support .
But just another question about the portfolio template. At the top of the page there is a title “Categories:” and a link to “All”.
What can I do to remove title and link?
Regards
OK, for that I need you to email me and I’ll email you back a screenshot of the code you need to change. You can send me an email through my Profile page.
Regards

I’m afraid it’s set globally.
Why don’t you explicitly provide the Excerpt text in the dedicated “Excerpt” text box under the Post when you edit it. If you don’t see that box, you can enable it from the top right corner “Screen Options”.
