My site looks exactly the same as dellustrations’. White with a black area. What could be the problem?
See below
Oh, now it’s working. I was just a little too eager to see results. I followed the steps in the guide, and now it’s fine. Thank you!
No worries – thanks for the purchase
Thanks for your reply!
There’s another thing I can’t seem to get to work though—the title of my web page does not display in the web browser. Instead the URL is displayed. Is there a way to change this?
Anyway, like your theme a lot!
Hey – this has been fixed in the latest version of the theme. Updated February 8th 2013. Glad you’re enjoying it
Hello, how could I place the byline underneath the title in the single post pages?
Hey – you’ll find this is how the posts are now displayed in the latest version of the theme. Updated February 8th 2012.
thanks
Hello,
one question, i have setup the website www.meinu.fr with this nice theme really well made, but one problem remains… the custom post loop widgets do not only contain the last articles of each section but they all contain the 3 last articles… how can i correct that?
thanks!
Hey – you need to read the “Custom Widgets” section of the help file for this. There’s a paragraph for the Custom Post Loop widget which explains how to find your category ID number, and this is the number you need to enter into the widget.
silly me not reading the help file i’m sorry to be such a waste of your time just cause i can’t RTFM
(and i spend enough time telling people to do so not to do the same thing hehehe) Great theme, have a nice dayyyy!
Haha, no problem
Hi there,
I love this theme and have changed www.prcompany.org.uk using it. Please can you tell me what size the featured images in all posts need to be and can I make them fill a page when you click a single page?
Hope this makes sense and thanks
Hey – if you’re images aren’t filling the width of the post it’s most likely because they are too small to be cropped properly. If you use a larger image you’ll find that WordPress does a better job of cropping it into place. Good luck.
Hi Paul, can you help me with this question
2) Will the current layout in single pages (side bar left, then post article) affect my SEO? Can the sidebar be moved to the right so that it loads after the post article?
3) Position the bylines in single post pages on the right side of the article title and flushing the title and article content to that it lines up with the image (flushed left).
Hey – good timing. I’m submitting an update to the theme in just a few minutes that will solve both of these for you. An update usually takes 24-36 hours to be reviewed & approved, so look out for that. You’ll know when the update has gone through because I’ll also be updating the theme’s preview images. Speak soon
Just purchased the theme and am setting it up. Looking at some of the examples of other sites using this theme, I don’t see examples of advertisements. I assume this can be accommodated – any examples you can reference?
Hi there – I’ve seen a good few examples of sites using the theme with plugins to handle the ads. I can’t remember any URLs off the top of my head, though. Have a look at the free plugin directory and run a quick search – I’m sure you’ll find one or two standouts that do a good job.
Hey everyone,
We’re back up and running with Ticksy for our theme support, and there’s been a couple of updates over at Ticksy that will improve the support experience. For example – all private tickets can now be made public if the information in the ticket is useful for others. Very handy indeed.

Hello Paul,
I love this theme, I’ve purchased this theme, can you send to us the XML for use the demo?
thanks!
Hi there – no problem, feel free to shoot me an email from my profile page, or you could open a ticket on the new support forum as it’ll be useful for others to have it there.

Hey everyone,
80/20 has been updated as of February 8th 2013, to satisfy a couple of very frequent requests..
1. Many of you didn’t like the left-sidebar popping up before the main content on mobile display, so that’s been pushed out so the first thing you see when you load a post on your smartphone is the actual post itself.
2. The single-post template now pushes the post-meta information below the post, and allows the title & post content to fit the full-width of the content area. The comments now fill the full-width of the content area, also.
3. The page title in the browser tab now displays properly for the homepage template, as well.
You can grab the update by re-downloading the theme from your ‘Downloads’ area.
Cheers

How do I reinstalled in wordpress to get the latest version?
The best way would be to overwrite the theme folder on your server via FTP. Alternatively, you could upload the theme to WordPress as normal and it should just overwrite the current version you have installed.
Hello,
Glad you’re enjoying the theme
My facebook like plugin code is not working in my widgets anymore, Twitter appears to be fine.
Any ideas?
Without seeing any code there’s not much I can say. Have you spoken to the plugin dev?
I absolutely love this theme! This is probably a little outside the scope of the theme, but is there any way to right justify one of the menu links at the top?
Thanks!
Glad you’re enjoying the theme. I’m sure this is possible but it’s not the type of mod I’m able to offer within the scope of my support, mate.
just a few questions (1) how can you put widgets on the category pages, (2) is it possible to put a ‘more’ link on the loop widget?
1. You’ll see the 4 sidebars available to you under Appearance > Widgets. It’s not either of the 2 homepage sidebars so that only leaves you with 2 possible answers. A couple of seconds of trial-and-error would give you the answer
2. Not at the moment. Both the thumb and the title link to the post already so you’re covered on all bases.
Hello, trying to submit a ticket via http://paulwinslow.ticksy.com/ but I get an error saying I need my envato purchase code to submit a ticket. I have the code, but can’t find where to input it?
I purchased and installed the 80/20 theme recently (http://propertywheel.co.za). I am very happy so far with the impact it appears to have had on my bounce rate (reduced) and pages per visit (increased). I have a few issues to resolve. And if these are fixed, I will be very satisfied with my purchase: 1) The wrapping of the heading / headline in the centre image feature does not wrap correctly and image disappears in Internet Explorer (for longer headings eg Pam Golding one). It does work fine in Firefox and Chrome. Unfortunately quite a few people seem to still be using Internet Explorer as I have received negative feedback – can send screen shots, but can’t get ticket system to work to do this 2) Comments don’t seem to be embedded in Pages, but are embedded in Posts. I have checked my wordpress settings, and Comments are turned on for Pages. And there are definitely active comments on Pages I have checked eg http://propertywheel.co.za/forum/tenant-reviews/. The comments used to display in the bottom section ie to the right of eg “twitter newsfeed .. “ before I changed the theme to 80/20. I have included an under construction notice until this can be resolved. 3) The site is very left aligned with a lot of white space on the right (even on a small screen). I would really like the screen to be filled with the content (fitted to size) – ideally, or if not, at least have the site content centre aligned so it does not look so odd on screen.
Many thanks, propertywheel
Hey – I’ve tweaked the Ticksy settings so that the purchase validation is opt-in, so you should be able to open a ticket now.
1a. I’ve tested the theme in IE and I don’t see any issues with the post thumbnails. There’s no reason why WordPress thumbnails wouldn’t work in IE, it’s a very standard feature.
1b. If your images aren’t cropping properly to fit the thumbnail space, it’ll be because the images aren’t an ideal size to begin with. You’ll need to use images that are a decent size and shape for WordPress to crop them properly. If an image is tall but very short in width it’s not an ideal size to be cropped into the thumbnail space. For example this image from your URL – http://propertywheel.co.za/wp-content/uploads/direct/Amanda-Stops-CEO-of-South-African-Council-of-Shopping-Centres.jpg – if this image was to be cropped to fit the space, it would need to be stretched and would look awful. It’s the same when managing any website on any platform – the images need to be ideal sizes.
2. If you’re able to leave me with your admin login in a support ticket (you can opt for the ticket to be private) I’ll be happy to jump in and add comments to your pages. (Quick tweak to the page.php file)
3. You can see quite clearly from the theme demo that the layout is already supposed to be centered. Your layout shouldn’t be left-aligned unless there’s been some modifications to the code.
-Paul
Hi Paul,
I logged a call via Ticksy a few days ago – just wanted to make sure you received it because I know there have been problems with the ticketing.
The logged call included details of: 1) screen shots explaining the IE issue further – I am quite concerned about getting this resolved as the vast majority of my website visitors unfortunately still use IE 2) my admin login for the page.php tweak you mentioned you’d be able to insert for me to make comments appear in Pages (and not just Posts) 3) further info re: point 3 (I’ve had to temporarily insert some minor modifications in style.css – right at the end (clearly commented) – but these are the only changes made
I’d really appreciate your help on this as it is a great theme, but the issues listed above are a problem for me.
Many thanks, Louise
Hi Louise – ticket replied to over in the forum.
For some reason links on the right sidebar wont open in a new tab even though the property is set to “_blank”. A bug perhaps?
Seems to do the job for me, mate. I’m testing with
<a href="http://wordpress.org" target="_blank">New window</a>inside a text widget and it does the job. Have you tested with plugins deactivated?Yup it was. WP Google Analytics was causing it. Would you recommend a good plugin for Analytics? or where to paste the code for it?
Hi all,
I’ve had a couple of you let me know that you’re having trouble entering your purchase code into the Ticksy support forum – so for now I’ve changed the settings as to make the purchase validation opt-in, so you should all now be able to open tickets even without the code.
I’ve emailed the guys at Ticksy so we’ll have the purchase validation solved for you guys asap. For now you should be able to open tickets even without it, so go nuts
Cheers,
-Paul
Hey.. I have some problems with my pagination. My webpage is: www.seriesiden.dk
Do you know whats wrong?
Hey – it’s difficult for me to say right away as I can see there’s been some modifications to the theme’s code. Did you make changes yourself or did you work with a developer? If the latter have you spoken to the dev?
Thanks for fast respons. I make the changes my self.
Which files do I have to replace to my existing theme if i want the new updates for the mobile version? mobilemenu.js?
