Hi there,
I’m using Widgets to add content to the sidebar of the ‘Contact ’ page…trying to add an RSS feed button using the ‘Text’ widget to add this code:<a href="<?php bloginfo('rss2_url'); ?>" title="<?php _e('Syndicate this site using RSS'); ?>"> <img src="http://www.mozilla.org/images/feed-icon-14x14.png" alt="RSS Feed" title="RSS Feed" /> </a>I get the title, but the code piece with the RSS icon and link does not show up.
I’m not sure if this widget piece is something from the theme or from Wordpress…
You won’t be able to add php code into the text widget as WordPress will just strip it out. If you put the direct link in place of that then it will work fine.
- Ed
Thanks so much, this is working.
I have one more question relating to the blog and gallery pages.
I have 8 posts showing up under the “blog” section on the one-page home view…similar set up for the “gallery”. However, when you click on the button that says “back to blog” once inside a post, it goes to a blank blog page.
I have a “page” called “blog” – which I would like to have showing the most recent post…
and similarly the link to “gallery” in the main nav goes to a 404 if you click it from inside any page other than home. I had set up a page called “gallery” – but how do I get the same gallery view that’s on the home page?
I’m confused about the structure of the theme I guess. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I cannot find the installation files in the folder or on the website. Can you please provide me with them or a link to access them?
Thank you
Hi there,
Do you mean the WordPress files? You can get these from WordPress.org, then follow the documentation to install the theme.
- Ed
Hi,
I cannot find any documentation to make the theme I installed look like your demo.
Here is my ticket on your support system: http://support.swiftpsd.com/?ticket=ability-installation#comment-266Here is my testing server that does not look like the demo: http://analyticalinternetmarketing.com/
Just replied to the ticket for you

Can I ad social icons to the top right where the menu is? Like in your kingdom theme?
Hi doodlejam,
Apologies I didn’t reply to this sooner, I managed to miss it somehow!
Unfortunately not, but it could be possible with some custom work.
Let me know if you’d like to proceed.
- Ed
Is there option to scroll sideways(horizontally) instead of vertically? Thanks!
Hi adriantee,
Apologies I didn’t reply to this sooner, I managed to miss it somehow!
There isn’t an option to do that unfortunately. I didn’t think about implementing it as it’s not too natural to scroll horizontally. It would be much more of a bespoke function

Can I add social icons to the top right where the menu is? Like in your kingdom theme?
Also, upload custom backgrounds on header and footer? Im wanting to purchase today.
Hi there,
It’s not something that is possible as standard, but could be added with some modifications. You can add custom colours to the header and footer through the theme options, and if you’d rather have an image there I can happily provide the css for you to do so.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hiya Ed, did you get my last email about changing the feature image size in the portfolio pages?
Also can you take a quick look at my site, when you click through to view one of my portfolio pages which has design work in it, it doesnt display all the images in that post? it cuts off the bottom few images ;( if you click through to the same page from the drop down nav at the top then the same page is fine and all the images display. Am i putting too many or too long images in the body of the portfolio post??
Help (again) ;)))
Cheers Ed!!!
I replied about 30 minutes ago

http://www.rekutt.co.ukThanks in advance ;0
Send me an email with a screenshot of what you mean and I’ll look into it.
- Ed
can you change backgrounds and colors of each “section” page? like features section tehn another color for blog?
It’s possible with some custom css, that I could provide for you.
- Ed
Ed,
I’d really love to purchase this current theme, but a couple of things are holding me back:
1. Do you have custom page templates where I can display only the specific categories from my blog? (http://www.shidairyproduct.com/ is my site) The dropdown menu has the four categories I presently have, and links them to a page, which houses all the posts categorized under the page’s name. Posts with multiple categories make multiple appearances.
2. Do you have plans for an HTML version? I ask because I have my smugmug site (http://photos.shidairyproduct.com/) whose header is currently broken and in a state of constant repair, due to a lack of proper documentation and decent code from the developer.
Plus, the site’s backend is very slow due to the theme. I’m hoping your theme won’t affect the backend. Load speed on my host is extremely fast for the front end, but due to the theme’s seemingly bloated nature, the dashboard has been slowing down (when I switch themes, the admin speeds are amazing).
With that said, do you think it’s doable? My end state is very simple: a photos subdomain that hosts ALL my work on smugmug (which can match its font, header, background, etc.) to my WP site, which hosts the rest of the content. If I can do this without getting professional custom work, please do let me know (this site is a hole in my pocket due to a crap theme). I’m willing to pony up an extra $15 for it, based on what I see from your high quality customer support and your amazing work. Cheers.
Hi there,
1. That is easily possible by just adding category links to the menu, and will display just like the standard blog. If you want to display these on the one page layout, then i’ll have to help you out with some custom page templates.
2. I don’t have plans for one, due to the fact that setup is made a lot easier by using WordPress.
Ability’s backend is super quick, you won’t notice any speed issues whilst using it.
What you want to do is definitely do-able, and I’m confident you’ll be very much satisfied with the quality of the product and support

Hi Ed,
first a big thank you for the great theme.
Nonetheless I have a little trouble with the navigation. It doesn´t scroll down the site, it instantly directs to the linked page (e.g. /about-us). Did I miss something in the options?
Thanks.
Hi there,
Thanks for the purchase
It’s explained in the documentation, and tells you what title you need to add for each menu item in order to scroll to the correct section.
Hope that helps!
- Ed
Ups, I missed that in the doku.
Thanks and have a nice weekend.
I have a question about the showcase options in the Ability theme I just bought. I like to add more than one videolink in my showcase. It seems to be that the showcase silder does not stop if I start playing a video from the showcase. Which gives a very annoying effect of seeing the showcase items slide by while you should see the video you started. Am I doing something wrong here?
Hi there,
If you’re using videos in the slider, I’d recommend that you set the autoplay to false, as I have yet to find a solution to stop the videos.
You can set this by opening /js/functions.js.php and editing line 547:
Hope that helps!
- Ed
Thanks Ed,
I was under the impression that the slider would react on playing video by the preview example on Themeforest. In the preview it looked like the slider stopped when the video in the last slide (the only slide with video) started playing… Good luck with finding a solutions and keep me informed. Next to this you did a great job on this theme! Thanks!
The slider does stop if you use the navigation, but will continue if you don’t. Thanks, I will keep looking and provide an update when possible.

Hey Ed – I wrote but never got a reply.
I’m loving the theme and customizing it a bit. I’m having the same problem the Uberagency ‘fella’ is having with the portfolio being cut short on image heavy portfolio posts.
I think it’s loading the page before all the images are loaded – and so it doesn’t know that there are 8 images in the stack and it doesn’t make room for them. If I reload the page it works. But always on the first try it’s cut off and looks sad.
Any ideas for a quick fix? Thanks!
Hi there,
Apologies for that, where did you write to me?
Have you set the image height attribute for the image? If not can you try that.
Let me know.
- Ed
Thanks for the quick reply – it was to support@swiftpsd.com May 16th. I’ve solved a few things – a lot of your code snippets on these replies really helped me out so thanks for those.
As far as I can tell the width and height are set for each image. If I go into html view for the portfolio post each image has “width=”840” height=”456”” in the img tag.
Is there somewhere else to set it? Thanks!
I’ve just replied to your email, apologies for the delay.
If you could reply to that with a login them I’ll investigate it for you.
- Ed
Hiya Ed, did you get my email regarding the cropping and responsive images in the posts fella? Looks like some else is having the same problems as me, some of my post can have up to 8 images and its not recognizing that, you mentioned setting the image height attribute for the image? Where do i set this? When you any image it auto adds the height and width in the visual editor anyway? Will it make a difference if i stitch all the images together in Photoshop so its just one long image instead of 8 images??
Cheers Ricky
Yep I got your email, and have been trying to investigate before getting back to you. I’ll get back to you sometime this evening.
- Ed
Cheers Ed, if you need to see what im talking about in action then you can look at the design work section on my site
www.rekutt.co.uk
Thanks in advance Ricky
A friend/client of mine purchased this theme for me to install for him. I had no difficulty installing Wordpress and this theme to test on my local machine because I found documentation elsewhere which helped me do so, but I have the same question as Abbring, pasted below. Is there some reason you didn’t post the answer here for everyone else to see?
Abbring says PurchasedHi,
I cannot find any documentation to make the theme I installed look like your demo.
Hi there,
The documentation can be found within the main download folder, within the documentation folder.
There wasn’t any reason why I didn’t post it here, just he’d already logged a support ticket so I posted the message there
- Ed
Thanks for your reply, however, there isn’t a documentation folder in my ability folder. Shall I open a ticket and send you a screen shot?
Are you sure that you’ve downloaded the main zip to find it? It won’t be in the separate WordPress theme download.
If you send in a ticket I’ll happily send you the web link to the documentation if you need.
- Ed
I’m looking in ability.zip that was downloaded upon purchase. Entering a ticket now.
ability.zip is the WordPress theme download, there is also a main zip download which includes the documentation & PSD . This can be found under the downloads tab of your dashboard.
- Ed
Thanks. Looks like my friend only sent me part of what he downloaded then.
Hiya Ed, removing that code worked fella! No more cropping
But when you resize the browser window smaller i squashes all the images and they look pants ;( So it looks like its something to do with that at least.
Gutted, thought we sorted it for a minute too, ive emailed you my login details for you to have a tinker with the back end mate.
Ricky
Investigating this, will reply to your email with a fix!
- Ed
Dear Ed,
I have some issues with the Ability theme. If I click on a portfolio item it does not open up totally. It gets stuck somewhere halfway. Next on my iPad the showcase shrinks down to the right corner. Very strange for a responsive theme like this. Check my site to see what I mean: http://studio-ic.com Hope you can help me out.
Regards,
Pieter
Hi Pieter,
Could you file a support ticket here – http://support.swiftpsd.com/ regarding the first issue please. The second issue can be fixed by adding the following the custom css within theme options:
#main-container { clear: both; }Hope that helps!
- Ed
I’ve got a fix for your first issue. If you log a ticket I’ll provide the replacement files to fix the issue.
