Awesome
You’re awesome
This is great.
Can this only be used purely as a blog without the portfolio pages / home screens?
Hey Mashrur, glad you like it!
It most certainty can. The portfolio section is a completely different post type. You can even hide the portfolio functionality in the WP Dashboard if you’d like. It’s only small modification, just 1 line of code.
Thats great.
I am ready to purchase if you can help me with one more question.
How hard would it be to add some kind of navigation on the single posts to go through next/previous posts, I don’t see that functionality. Right now you have to go back to the blog page to see other posts.
That’s actually a really easy fix as we decided to hide that functionality itself on those pages on line 1136 of style.css:
(.single-format-standard div.pagination { display: none; })
We decided to hide it because the alternate post formats are built to populate on the blog index pages, but not on their own single pages. Though if you opted out of using those (if that was your plan anyhow) then you can just remove that line and the pagination will display.

Very stylish theme, good luck with sales !
Appreciate it Holobest!
Wow! I like this theme!
Haha, thanks Henk!
Super clean theme! I love the boldness of your design!
Thank you Delicious Themes, we really appreciate it!
Welcome to the Forest !
Thanks Bedros!
is there a way to add a sidebar with widgets to the main blog area? I noticed that it’s probably using widgets in the footer, but I REALLY wanted to be able to add it to the side of the blog area and in a blog post.
Also, how about post thumbnails on the blog?
Hey there fm005,
With a slight modification, you could add a sidebar to the blog pages. We decided to remove post thumbnails on the blog index page (to focus on content depth through post titles), though again, it’s an easy customization to add those back in. We’d be glad to help!
I agree with fm005. I would like to see the theme have a sidebar
- as an option -for the blog. It would attract more bloggers to the theme.I think we’ll be adding that to the development list.
We’ll actually have the update posted by Saturday at the latest, did most of the building this morning.
you mean the sidebar on the blog page? Will you also show “comments” in the Meta Data area? I did not see this on the blog page? Thanks.
Add: Some posts have the comments, some don’t. Did you turn comments off of some of the posts?
Sidebar on blog as well as sidebar enabled default templates (left and right). We just didn’t add comments to every page yet, it was approved quite quickly.
Nice. Looking forward to seeing it.
FYI though. In response to @conradzoo comment on page 2 regarding featured images.
So the Featured Images in the Standard Blog post type are never displayed nor is this an option for blog posts single and/or indexed? Right?
If not, many bloggers use the WP featured image option native to Wordpress. Real bummer for those considering moving to a new theme like Aboard. Would there be any plans to make the feature image available in Standard Blog posts either showing it on the index post or even the single post or both? —Thanks.
Hey, they are not displayed in Aboard. We decided that turning them off fit better into our concept and purpose of the blog in this theme.
If you’re planning on moving a blog over, you would just need to add images in the actual post as we did in the demo, which provides a nice visual but allows the content to speak for itself and command attention, without the sometimes obtrusive featured images.
Thanks for the suggestion for the turn off/on featured images, we’ll bring it up in today’s meeting and see if we will want to add that functionality in a v1.2 update.
Cheers!
Hey guys, is making the featured image available for blog posts (discussed above) on the roadmap for 1.2? If so, when would it be expected? I just need to know for sure it’s coming before purchase. Thanks.
Hey, we’re not thinking so. We worked it in and it does not fit or flow well with the large bold headers in the theme. Our next theme will have featured images in standard posts though. It should hopefully land by early next week.
This theme fits perfectly inside a Facebook tab page. Brilliant! I will be getting it soon.
Hey! Didn’t notice that till you said something about it. Awesome!
This is really striking – love it!
In terms of homepage – we wouldn’t be using a portfolio, either – we have an existing content heavy landing template with various sections leading to internal pages – are there other homepage templates/configuration – or would stripping out the portfolio – or simply using a conventional page for home be the mod to get a more conventional style agency look on the index? (love the blog aesthetic – just wouldn’t want to use it on our main page)
Really great though – beautiful and strikingly simple!
Hey there emedia1! First off, thanks for the compliments, we really appreciate it. #nokidding
The home page in this theme is actually a separate Portfolio template. You could use the default template (seen on pages like the shortcodes page, icon buttons, contact ect.) which are just blank canvases that we added content to.
So nope, you wouldn’t have to strip out anything to use a different page as your home. Just use a default template and customize away.
Bought the theme.
Trying to sign up on your support page, but says purchase code not recognized.
Hey could you email us the code at hello@themebeans.com. We’ll check into the matter and get you squared away.
Sent.
Did you get your password changed?
Yes, I posted a support request already.
Is there a shortcut / feature in this theme, where every image I would put into a page or blog post – will be retina-ready?
For actual images included in each page/post there isn’t a standard WordPress way to upload dual images (one at normal size and one at retina), though if you upload a image 2x the size you intend, then set the pixel ratio at 50% (the original intended) then it will show up retina-fied on though type of displays.
For instance. Upload a image that is 100×100px and set it to 50×50px.
FANTASTIC TIP!
If I buy your theme, do you offer additional customizations that I would like to do to the theme, via: Freelancing / Contracted work?
We do some custom contracted work as well, though it is at a first-come-first-served basis.
What is the best way to contact you for custom work?
Hello(at)themebeans.com
Just bought this. Hopefully it will be better than the one I just spent three days trying to setup
– Nice looking theme!
Whoa! I hope so too! Let us know if you need anything Holcombpaul & we really appreciate it!
I noticed all the images in the project gallery are horizontal, does this theme support vertical images? I want to use it for my photography website.
It would just take a few lines of code to modify the cropped image sizes that are currently used in the theme demo.
So far so great!
Question – How do I get rid of the word “HOME” in the Nav – I have the homepage set to default to a page called “work” but the word ‘Home” still shows up.
Hey, (in case you didn’t) you just need to set your navigation menu in the “Menus” sidebar link in your WordPress Dashboard. When you set your menu y ou can add items and change the names of the labels.
apologies – I think I may have finally figured it out.
Good Luck with sales.
Thanks Joefrey!
Thanks for the really fast response! Question – how do I decrease the space between main container and the header title?
example – on this page http://wayzon.net/hypergenius/ – between the line under “Where ADD and… and the “It takes all types…”
Hey, did you add a page header in the entry content area?
It takes all types to create amazing.
</header>HyperGenius is a full-service product innovation consultancy. We partner with companies who care about creating meaningful relationships with their customers by developing innovative products and services built around the user.
Try making it just a header type (h3/4/5) because we use the header ID in the actual theme.
just rated 5 stars – a theme that actually works and support that’s very responsive!
Awesome! We really do appreciate it! Thank you so much!
