Try this, go to wp-content/themes/abrax/ and open template-homepage.php

var slideshow=new TINY.slider.slide('slideshow',{
                id:'slider',
                auto:3,
                resume:true,
                vertical:true,
                navid:'slider-pagination',
                activeclass:'current',
                position:0
            });

Set auto:3 to auto:6 for example. It should really slow down.

You could also find some interesting documentaion here http://www.scriptiny.com/2011/01/javascript-slider/ if you;re interested in developing it more.
