This is an awesome template with superior, reliable and lightning fast support. I am very pleased with how professional and yet how easily customizable it is

Is there any way to attach a hyperlink to a featured image on a portfolio item? I’d like for the viewer to be routed to a different page when clicking on the item OR item description.

Thanks again, the theme is working out BEAUTIFULLY !

Hi Melanie,

Thanks for the positive comments :D

You sure can make it link to another page, its real easy. So a portfolio item looks like this in the code view:

<div class="thumb"><a href="images/portfolio/portfolio_1.jpg" title="Wine Glass Bay, Tasmania" rel="prettyPhoto"><img src="images/portfolio/portfolio_thumb1.jpg" height="114" alt="Tasmania, Australia" width="292" /></a></div>

For example, If i wanted to change it so it would link to Themeforest I should:

1. remove the rel code: rel="prettyPhoto"

2. change the href=”images/portfolio/portfolio_1.jpg” to: href="http://themeforest.net"

So the final result would be like this:

<div class="thumb"><a href="http://themeforest.net" title="Wine Glass Bay, Tasmania"><img src="images/portfolio/portfolio_thumb1.jpg" height="114" alt="Tasmania, Australia" width="292" /></a></div>

Let me know how you go :)

Hi there, I love the theme, but am having difficulty with the gallery page. No next or back button or resize button are appearing. Can you help? I haven’t changed the code as far as prettyphoto goes…all else is working. Please let me know. Thanks! Shannon

Please send me a message with the contact form at: http://themeforest.net/user/timymc

It’d be great if you can include the link so I can check it out.

Thanks :D

I recently bought this template and noticed that the Contact page does not work. It seems like it is trying to load something from a server or other locations not my site folder.

How can I fix this? Thanks.

Is there a way to change the loading image for the home page slider? Right now, it is a grey box with an ugly font that says, loading first image. I want to make that my own design. Is there a way? I can’t find that image anywhere.

timymc

Hi David,

Thanks for your message. I*m not 100% sure if you can change it since its part of the piecemaker header. I’ll have a look and if I figure it out I’ll message you. If you want to have a search as well please look through their site: http://www.modularweb.net/piecemaker/

One other thing, Is there any way of adding before and next buttons to images from the portfolio page? I figured since all the iamges have a rel=”prettyPhoto”, then all the images would link and can be viewed using a next button instead of closing the window and clicking on another thumbnail.

timymc

Hi,

Yes absolutely! It’s very easy to do. You just need to add something to each link that you want to have the arrows.

1. Add [gallery1] inside the rel, so it looks like this:

Before: <a href="images/portfolio/portfolio_2.jpg" title="Melbourne, Victoria" rel="prettyPhoto">...</a>

After: <a href="images/portfolio/portfolio_2.jpg" title="Melbourne, Victoria" rel="prettyPhoto[gallery1]">...</a>

You don’t have to call it gallery1, thats just this example. You can have different galleries, so they link together with the same ones. All image links that you add [gallery1] to will then have the arrows. Let me know how you go!

:D Enjoy your weekend!

I also agree with Sandstorm, very good template. Great job!

One question though, is there a way to remove the thumbnail rollover in the portfolio section?

timymc

Hi,

Thanks for your message! Yes you can disable it by following these two steps:

Step 1. Remove the code below from inside the head of the portfolio.html page

<!-- Thumbnail Hover zoom effect --> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ //Larger thumbnail preview $(".thumb").hover(function() { $(this).css({'z-index' : '10'}); $(this).find('img').addClass("hover").stop() .animate({ marginTop: '-50px', marginLeft: '-23px', width: '316px', height: '208px', padding: '11px' }, 200); } , function() { $(this).css({'z-index' : '0'}); $(this).find('img').removeClass("hover").stop() .animate({ marginTop: '0', marginLeft: '0', width: '292px', height: '114px', padding: '0px' }, 400); }); }); </script>

Step 2: Open style.css and FIND :

.portfolio .thumb img:hover { position:relative; z-index:1; background-image: url(../images/portfolio-hov-bg.png); padding:11px }

Replace with:

.portfolio .thumb img:hover { position:relative; z-index:1; background-image: url(../images/portfolio-hov-bg.png); }

Done!

That should do the trick :D

Hi,

My question relates to the scaling down of the images in the portfolio section. The images appear to be stretched/ compressed before resizing when you hover over them – is there any way around this so the aspect ratio always stays the same or should I just disable this feature?

Thanks,

Gareth

timymc

The aspect ratio is an issue that is not easy to change, but it is possible with good jquery skills. My recommendation would be just to disable it unless you can rewrite the js and css.

I hope it serves you well. Thanks for the purchase :)

Really like the theme. My question is how can I modify the custom.js file to have the Glideslider just loop through the images one time and stop rotating once it reaches the last image? Thank you, Mary

timymc

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. You can can make the slider stop by following these two steps:

step 1.
Open this file: /js/custom.js and go to line 63, it looks like this:
if ( $active.length === 0) { //If paging reaches the end...

step 1.
Change the 0 to 10, so it will look like this:
if ( $active.length === 10) { //If paging reaches the end...

Save and you’re done :)
Enjoy! :D

Hi, Love the theme. I am a newbie to Web design. Some questions that are probably simple ones, but none the less they are causing me issues. When I download the package do I leave the files in their existing locations work on them them upload as is. Or do I need to take the html files out of the folder, so that when I upload the files my index page is visible straight ways from my public folder? I thought this might break the links to the css etc. Please help!

timymc

Hi,

Thanks for buying the theme. Basically you just need to upload all the files that are in the HTML folder to your public_html on the server. That will make it go live on your domain. You can work on the files in the HTML folder or you can move that folder and rename it to something else. But you don’t need to upload the whole folder, only what’s inside it. If you do upload the whole HTML folder then the website will be accessed by going to: YOURDOMAIN .COM/HTML

I hope that helps, if you have any more dramas drop me an email via the contact form.

Thanks again :)
