I’m having two issues:

1. All my posts have a featured image and the theme is ignoring them on the pages that list posts. How can I get it to show the featured image so I don’t have to manually move them all into the post contents?

2. The “Continue Reading” button is showing inconsistently. On some posts it shows on a new line, left aligned with the post’s body and on others it comes immediately after the last word before the “more” tag.

How can I get it to always show on a new line, to the left so the layout is consistent?

Thanks!

ThemeBeans

Yes, or just set the more tag like so in your entry content field ( screenshot: http://thmbns.co/QcY9)

Ah I see. By default the featured images do not display in the standard post format, but they do in the image post format (screenshot: http://thmbns.co/QdFv).

You can either set them to the image post formats, or mod the content.php file with the contents from content-image.php (lines 11-40 and the “endif” on line 58 near the bottom).

If you need further assistance, I’d appreciate it if you contacted us through the Bean Support Center. It’s far easier to keep track of things and get you some help!

Thank for the reply Rich. You’re correct, putting the more tag on a new line works. I opted for using CSS so I didn’t have to update all the existing posts.

I’ll try modifying the content-image.php page so I don’t have to change the existing posts for that but it’s good to know for future posts I can change the post type to “image”.

Thanks again.

Awesome, no problem :)

Where can I change the Continue Reading text?, I have an spanish lang blog so I need to translate it for my site.

Thanks.

ThemeBeans

Hey D3NE, in the lib/content/content-(postformat).php files you will see the following:

<?php the_content( __( ‘ Continue Reading ’, ‘bean’ ) ); ?>

Just swap out the Continue Reading part in each of those and you’re golden.

I really love the Acute theme. It’s simple and clean, but I have a small problem. I want to insert a header image. Is that possible? Can you explain to me how I can change this in Header.php? It would make this template perfect for me! And if it’s not possible…......can I exchange this template and download the Spruce theme?

cheers

ThemeBeans

Hey this is most certainly possible via some CSS edits. Locate #header in the style.css file (line 490 or use the child theme) and you can add a background image to it. See the example below:

header { background: url() no-repeat fixed center center;

-webkit-background-size: cover; -moz-background-size: cover; -o-background-size: cover; background-size: cover; }

Hello there, im actually using your theme with my blog. I actually love the theme, but i found a small mistake:

It actually only appears on single Pages.

ThemeBeans

Hey Florain, glad you’re ikgin it. We’re actually not pulling that via the live demo.

It looks like something with the “Facebook Opengraph post” being pulled it externally (probably a plugin, or did you add that in yourself?)

It’s there any way to change the position of the title to be above the featured image?, I really need to do this so my visitors see the title before the image of the post.

Thank you very much.

ThemeBeans

Do you have an <?php endif; ?> anywhere in your document? You need that to close where the image is being loaded.

If that doesn’t work, please contact us via the Bean Support Center – it’s near impossible to target the code errors from a code snippet, as PHP functional errors can start/end technically anywhere throughout the file.

K Thanks!

Couple quick questions before purchase – I am looking to use this mainly for the blog post functionality and am wondering if it is possible to display several full posts on a page, rather than the shortened w/Read more link, along with displaying all photos in a post, rather than the gallery view? Thanks!

ThemeBeans

This would be a good starting point – http://snippi.com/s/ku6fzri. You’d probably need to put it in lib/content/content-image.php in lieu of the post-thumb div content.

Default-user

Excellent, thanks, I will give that a try as well. One last question, I assume it would be fairly easy to move the post images below the title and body text?

ThemeBeans

It would take a little rearranging in the image-content.php file, but nothing too difficult really.

I have a few pre purchase questions:

If I create a custom sliding panel for posts will this panel apply for all posts or do I need to set the custom sliding panel for each individual post?

You have added a Google Prettify short-code. Looking at the examples of this in the posts I notice that it only shows code examples in a black font color. Also the code examples cannot be copied. Is the short-code not working correctly or is this an artifact of the preview? Can I still create my own Google Prettify theme and replace the prettify.css file or have you integrated the prettify css rules in the theme style sheet?

I have read through the other comments and see several answers which state that this will be solved or added in the next update. I don’t see these changes in the preview. Doesn’t the preview show the latest update?

In the Theme features information it says “Hundreds of elegant short-codes”. Are there more short-codes included with the theme (the preview only shows 8 short-codes and the free short-codes plugin only contains 13).

ThemeBeans

1. We do not have a click to copy function with our code shortcodes – though it’s a neat idea and we’ve been brainstorming an extended plugin for this functionality.

2. There is only one widget area in the footer, though there are four footer layout options. Again, there are no bugs per the footer widgets as of now (most of what is posted here is either external plugin or user error issues which were resolved via our Support Center).

There is a public changelog < href=”http://www.assets.themebeans.com/changelogs/acute.txt”>here with update information.

3. There is a scrollable sidebar option (screenshot: http://thmbns.co/RFw1). There is not a Google font switcher. That functionality is far better off in a plugin form. There is social sharing (screenshot: http://thmbns.co/RGpr). There is not a related posts feature in Acute.

4. Demo data can be downloaded from this link here.

Hope this clears things up for you John, Cheers! Rich

1. That would be great.

2. Found it. Thanks. (there’s a typo in the link; without typo: http://www.assets.themebeans.com/changelogs/acute.txt

3. Thanks for the 2 screenshots.

See that Social sharing option only includes Facebook and Twitter. Could you add G+ or give directions on how to add that?

Surprised about the missing ‘related posts feature’. In reply to a question from dannyp45 you wrote “It’s at the top of our update list” and “We’re looking at a push later this week.”

4. Thanks.

ThemeBeans

Sometimes updates get pushed lower in priority for other updates, it’s currently listed in the dev icebox for Acute.

The Contact form has good validation and a nice gimmick.

Would be good to have something like that for the Comment form as well. (when the required email address on the comment form is not valid the visitor is directed to another page which tells him it isn’t valid. But he/she has to start all over again with filling in the contact info and the comment). Would be better if you stay on the same page and the input can be edited.

Hi, great Theme. 5 Star Rating.

Still have one minor Problem.

I use a static front page as the front page. I did the settings trough the reading panel. This static frontpage is not showing the Headline, like it does on other Pages or Posts.

Thanks, Roby

Hi, really like the theme though just wondered how you can integrate the Newsletter Widget in to Mail Chimp?

Do you have a lightbox feature for video?

ThemeBeans

Hey Araize, unfortunately not – though you can still embed them throughout the theme.

Thanks Rich. Can I use a lightbox video plugin instead?

ThemeBeans

I have not tested any personally but I would stick with more well known plugins – to mitigate any potential problems. This one looks alright.

Rich

Bean Social WordPress Plugin

The latest addition to the Bean Plugin family – Bean Social WordPress Plugin. It generates a nice widget and provides quite a few shortcode options for you to place icons anywhere and everywhere. Give it a look – oh & of course it’s free.

Cheers! Rich

Guys,

Does Acute play well with Disqus Comments system? Really like the theme.

ThemeBeans

I have not tested Disqus with it, but I do have testing Disqus on the list of todo’s for Acute (and my other themes).

Rich

Bean Pricing Tables WordPress Plugin

The latest (and arguably the greatest) addition to the Bean Plugin family – Bean Pricing Tables WordPress Plugin. Give it a look – yup, it’s free too.

Hi Guys,

This template is just awesome! I wonder if i could use it as a webapp in my iphone like adding it to my main screen.

I did already use the code below but when change pages it leads to my safari browser of course.

<meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes">
<meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-status-bar-style" content="black-translucent">

Is there a possibility to turn this possible?

Thanks in advance ;)

ThemeBeans

Hey aPinix, I have not tested changing the template to be a “web app”, or have much experience working with that. You could add it to your home page like normal, and by modifying the apple-touch-icon.png in the theme’s images folder you can have your custom icon.

Cheers, Rich

I would really buy it if it had the sidebar always in sight on the light backtground.

ThemeBeans

You can modify that via CSS if you’d like :)

Just updated from 1.2.5 to the current version, I deleted 1.2.5 before installing the newest version.

So far the only issues I have are:

1) Without using the child theme the menu navigation bar is all mucked up http://i59.tinypic.com/xcpy54.jpg

2) It seems to be difficult to select anything in a drop down menu from the navigation bar (at least on my pc, the demo site for acute works fine however).

The webpage in question is http://www.pixelizm.com

Also I cannot find where the shortcodes are, you mention a shortcode manager on the demo page but I can’t see where it is.

Any help would be much appreciated.

ThemeBeans

Hey Goro, I’m not seeing an issue with your menu navigation. Do you think it may have just been a page cacheing issue? Here’s what I’m getting: http://thmbns.co/TcqA

For your second question, you’re referring to this right? Is the error persistent, or was it only occurring when your menu looked like the above?

For your last question, I moved the shortcodes to an outside plugin (Bean Shortcodes) to abide by ThemeForest’s new standards – a couple months ago.

Rich

Thanks for the reply, I’ve just tried the site again and it all seems to be working, I could’ve swore that I cleared the cache. Thanks for the help, sorry for wasting your time.

It’s all good! :D

Rich

Hey Guys, Love your theme!

Do you support WPML? Do you support RTL languages? Also, do you have a demo available of how the theme looks when implementing the ThemeBeans Portfolio plugin?

Thanks, Jonathan

ThemeBeans

Hey Jonathan! We do indeed, and have a base RTL.css file included, though there may be extended modifications necessary. I have to set up the portfolio demo for Acute, but I should have it up this week. Thanks for the reminder :)

Can I set up two columns instead of the single column layout you are showing in the demo?

ThemeBeans

Hey Ariaize, there’s not a dual column layout in the blog/single post pages, but you can set up sidebars using the sidebar specific templates included.
