Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

Wait what? It says that the theme is missing a stylesheet when I try to install it?


Simply upload the actual theme zipped files.

When you download one of our themes from ThemeForest, you will receive a package folder – aka Acute-Package (V1.0). This package contains a documentation folder, PSD sources, Licensing stuffs a un-zipped folder of the theme and a zipped theme folder.

This zipped folder – inside the package – contains the set of files that you would use to upload through the WordPress Dashboard.

Note: If you’re uploading via FTP, straight to your wp-content/themes/ folder, you’ll upload the unzipped folder.
