The best vcard on themeforest, congratz.

Things I would change : Color – use other colors to quickly identify external profiles, date type on timeline, sections etc. Download link – I would add the download resume button on the top bar and on the mini card at first sight.

Otherwise, it’s a really really good vcard. Bravo !

Thanks for the great feedback :) I think I might make another colour scheme so the user has the choice

Best vCard template I’ve seen! Brilliant work!

Just a question, how do I link my resume PDF to the download button provided? Can’t seem to figure it out for some reason..

Hello, thanks for the great feedback! I’m glad you’re enjoying the template.

To link the download button to your PDF resume do the following:

My mistake, the HTML I pasted is obviously being rendered by the themeforest comments! I will send you the instructions and in an email and add this to the User Guide for any other users who have the same question :)

medium_rare

So I’ll just get you to email me at: craiggarner800@gmail.com as Themeforest won’t let me message you directly

Really great design Craig. Quick question, how can I get the bullet text to align on the second line (e.g. for ‘icon-caret-right’). Ive tried playing with firebug and using ‘list-style-position: outside;’ but I cant seem to get it to work

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

medium_rare

Hi op01, thanks for purchasing the template, glad you like it!
Here is a solution:
- Replace the ‘timeline-section li’ item in style.css with this:

list-style-type: none; margin-left: 10px; list-style-position: inside; padding: 5px 0 10px 20px; text-indent: -1.2em;

Let me know if you have any issues with this :)

Sorry – hopefully last question! I’m also having a slight issue getting the ‘View projects’ to work for different projects. Ive copied the project1 block of code from the index.html and renamed everything to project2, but im unsure how to get it to work. How do I add additional projects that can be clicked and viewed?

Many thanks

Did you make sure to change the data-reveal attribute? If you’d like to email me at craiggarner800@gmail.com, I’d be more than happy to take a look at your code so I can better assist :)

Can the color be changed in the CSS? (Not a huge fan of the salmon, but love the layout!)

medium_rare

Yes it can: and easily, you just need to find and replace the current hex value: #ff3e36 with your own.

Hi, great job on the design. Clean and VERY easy to read!!

How can I make the a link color change? I noticed you had it setup at #fff for white to get the social media buttons to appear; however, I want my email address to be linkable, but whenever I set to mailto it also turns all my links to white.

I’m pretty sure I can create a separate email link css, but not quite sure how i can do that within the foundation.css without overriding the previous css for the social buttons.

medium_rare

Hey shiloharts, thanks for purchasing! Just give your email link a class and then give your class a rule: .myclass a{ color: #####};

Figured it out! :)

I created a span and a email id within the foundation css . I attached my color to an “a” tag … if this makes any sense.

Again…good job! :)

BTW, any thoughts about creating an Awards or Publication section?

Ok… last question: How do I make the timeline smaller to fit two more items?

  • Bought between 10 and 49 items

ok…I was able to figure out my last question. The timeline servers as the Awards section…I just needed to create a title for it and restructure the columns to fit more bullets.

The one serious request I do have though is to create an arrow key to bring viewers back to top whenever they scroll down…other than that…PERFECT! :)

medium_rare

Thanks Shiloharts, it seems you were able to fix all your own questions! Well done! :D let me sort out a solution to the ‘back to top’ arrow for you…

Default-user

Hi Craig! Any luck with the “back to top” arrow? I just check the live site demo and noticed it’s not there. I can build one, but was wondering if you had a solution. Thanks! :)

Hi Shiloharts, could you please email me at craiggarner800@gmail.com so I can let you know what you need to add? Thanks:)

Hello, great theme – any way to change the color?

Thanks

medium_rare

Yes you can – just open both style.css and foundation.css and do a ‘find and replace’ on the colour code #ff3e36. Replace that with your own colour :)

Hi, the template is awesome! But I found an issue with some screen resolutions (iphone), the employment and education stuff does not appear aligned like it should, even using the untouched template. Can you help me?

medium_rare

Strange – both of these sections look fine on my iphone… let me check with some friends phones and get back to this.

How do i get more icons for social media such as youtube and facebook.

medium_rare

The template uses font-awesome, you can see a list of the icons here:http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ .. just use the tag as per the font awesome website instructions :)

Also, how do i make more columns on the timeline section?

year

Position

medium_rare

The columns work like so: ‘div class = X columns ’ content ’ /div ’. Where x is any number between 1 and twelve. Twelve being the full width of the page. So just make more divs and give them a column class :)

Hi Craig,

I’ve tried to install your theme, but I have the error..

“Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.”

medium_rare

Hi mccu, unfortunately Adept is not a Wordpress theme, rather it is an HTML template. This means that it requires basic knowledge of HTML and CSS in order to customize and implement.

I’m sorry if this isn’t the answer you were after..

Love the template, looks great! What are the dimensions I should use for my images? My “home-photo” isn’t displaying correctly – sized at 300×195. Should the images follow the dimensions specified in the stand-ins? Thanks

medium_rare

Hi Davemo, thanks for purchasing the theme, glad you like it! Yes your images should be the size of the placeholders :)

Hi Craig, Love the template! Just wondering how I can integrate a blog icon onto the top nav and what the easiest approach to incorporating a blog into the site would be? Thanks!

medium_rare

Hi Lance, You will see in the code that the menu is generated using an unordered list. I would recommend copy and pasting one of the list items and then changing the details (title, icon, id etc) to say Blog.

As for creating the blog section, I would suggest replicating an existing section, such as the profile, and then changing the content inside that section to reflect a blog. This won’t however, reflect a dynamic blog such as wordpress as this is an HTML template and isn’t connected to any CMS

Hi, one more question… I’m trying to add another section in the resume area titled “Certification” I have copied the Education section and but would like to use another icon instead of the ... where do I go about changing this? Can I upload my own icon or access more icons that are this same style? I can’t seem to find it in the code… Thanks!

medium_rare

Hi Lance, thanks for purchasing Adept! The template uses the Font Awesome icon set: Go Here
There are tons of icons you can use from there! Hope this helps :)

Hi Craig how do insert my larger image in the project section (not the thumbnail preview) and change the size of the preview which by default is 730 X 420 pixels that pops up? I need the preview for the work I’m trying to showcase to be larger and sized differently. Thanks!

medium_rare

Hi Lance, you can make the pop-up bigger by adjusting the size of the ‘expand modale’ class in css, foundation.css line 594. You might have to play around a bit to get the results you want :)

Default-user

Hi Craig, how do I make it so that the popups for each individual project are not the same? I want to showcase different projects, but each time I click “View Project” it is the same default project that pops up? I tried copying and changing the div id from project1 to project2 as a means to differentiate the popups but to no avail… any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

medium_rare

You could adjust one of the ‘expand’ classes and just give each different project a class such as expand-large, expand-xlarge to use them individually :)

Default-user

Hi Craig, for some reason I can not figure out how to pull this off… can you by any chance elaborate on exactly what I have to do, which lines I need to change? I copied and pasted

I think I might benefit from seeing your code. Could you please email at craiggarner800@gmail.com with a link to your site :)

Hi Craig,

Great theme! Really love it!

Just one question – I’m not able to get the ‘View projects’ to work for different projects. I’ve copied the project1 block of code from the index.html and renamed it to project2 and changed the data-reveal attribute, but I can’t figure out how to get the pop-up to come up. Can you help? Thanks so much!
