Is your server down? All the pictures are missing.

...so I’m new at this and I may just have missed something, but I can’t get the pictures in the headers to show completely… only half of it shows. The top half of the image shows at the bottom half of the header, just below the title. Am I doing something wrong? Does it need to be a certain size?

I’d like to use it for a French customer and I need text with: éàêï characters… but all those characters are replaces by a white space (in the replaced Cufon font), any idea how to solve that?

Another question: how could I slow down the slider speed?

How can I get the drop-down menu to work without including the description for the menu item ? The menu does drop-down, but by the time I move my mouse over it, the drop-down disappears – change CSS to bring it closer to top ?

I added to items to a custom (WP v3) menu and called it Main. My menu promptly disappeared. However I seem to see a very feint menu vertically inside the slider box.

Turns out the default “About” page in the template had a huge menu item description which threw everything off. I deleted the description from te description field and all is well.

I presume I need to add the custom code that is shown in the documentation. Any idea where to add that code?

For anyone coming along new to Wordpress that would like the answer to above:

I’m big on context (I’m a writer by trade) and it took a bit to figure out there was no “Home” page template per se, but you have to make one from various pieces in the docs. Very simple, done it a million times, but the documentation left me a bit confused since it is laid out more like a reference than a tutorial.

First off, the docs explain how to add a custom link in the menu system to “home” (which at that point is a blank blog page for all practical purposes). Then later they explain how to add a static “home page”, even though you’ve already added a home link to your menu. Then lastly near the bottom, they give you the html to make a home page layout like the one in the demo.

And they never mention that the menu will have to adjusted afterwards with the custom link “home” item removed and the new home page added to the custom menu.

Like I said, it’s mostly all there, but I made the mistake of treating the docs like a tutorial – this before that – etc. . From a user’s perspective, when you buy a theme, you expect it to look like and be laid out the same as the demo, minus maybe some of the content. This isn’t the case with this theme.

However, the theme itself is fantastic. I am using it for a client. I recommend it highly.

Just if you want an “out of the box” experience that looks like the demo, make sure you almost read the docs backward. And remember, the home page layout is “built” using regular html (given in the docs), pasted into a new page you call “home”, that is then added to your wp3 custom menu (and then specified as the new static home page in the Reading settings).

Not rocket science, but it may not be entirely intuitive for WP newcomers.
