Love the theme! Think I’ll buy it! :)

Just a few questions:

1. Can the lightbox for the blog images be disabled?

2. Does this theme have social media icons for Flickr and Tumblr?

3. Can the bottom widget area easily be changed in a darker grey?

Thanks in advance! Good luck with the sales!

sevenspark

Thanks, glad you like it! :)

1. Not currently, but I will look into whether that is a possibility.

2. No, but I will add those to my to do list. The currently supported icons are Twitter, Facebook, Forrst, Dribbble, Vimeo, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest.

3. Yes, you could change the background color of the footer widget area with a simple CSS tweak.

Hope that helps! :)

Hi Henk,

Wanted to let you know that Agility 1.1 is out, and, among a variety of enhancements, I’ve included the ability to disable the lightbox (in all post loops, all single posts, or both), as well as added Flickr and Tumblr social media icons.

Hope you like the update! :)

Chris

@ JW-Photo: If you use either a custom CSS file / or custom CSS area (instead modifying the theme’s files) then your settings / layout will survive updates. The ideal way to develop WP sites is Child Themes. This can typically apply to all themes, not just this one. So, it’s your choice to make it easier on yourself or harder in the long-term. :-)

This is just one of many WordPress best practices, so it’s certainly not required. It’s perfectly acceptable to limit yourself to the capabilities of the theme or available plugins. However, the WordPress codex IS your friend, use it! As long as you’re not adverse to a little “reading” now and then, you’ll be surprised how simple it can be! You might be saying, “but..I don’t like coding.” IMO , it’s not really coding but rather closer to “copy & paste”. LOL .

Well said!

For anyone interested in learning more about customizing Agility specifically, feel free to take a look at the Customizations section of the guide. Agility has a “custom CSS ” area in the admin panel, offers BrickLayer layout configurations, and also comes with a “starter” child theme which makes getting going with your code customizations easy :)

Chris

This is super hot, like the airness and reduced look. Also Wordpress! fantastic.

Thanks very much! :)

HI sevenspark

Great theme.

Is there a shortcode generator? Is it possible to have a video in the slider?

Thanks

Default-user

HI Chris Thank you for your reply. Are there any plan to add a short code generator? Is it possible to use a plugin such as “Shortcodes Ultimate”. I do understand from your reply that you are adding video support in the slider, however is it possible to have just a video in the featured area when using BrickLayer?

Thanks again

sevenspark

Hi abentivoglio,

I am not familiar with “Shortcodes Ultimate”. I expect you could use it, but the markup it produces may not be responsive and would not be styled like the Agility UI elements most likely. I will look into the possibility of developing a shortcode generator for the Agility shortcodes.

I do not know if video support will be added to the slider, but it is something I will investigate and consider.

You could add a video to a normal Page, or to a BrickLayer custom HTML Brick, by using WordPress’s embed shortcode with YouTube or Vimeo.

Hope that helps :)

Chris

Hi abentivoglio,

Wanted to let you know that Agility 1.1 is out, which now includes a shortcode generator! Here’s a video if you’d like to see a little more about it: http://agility.sevenspark.com/shortcodes/shortcode-generator

Hope you like it! :)

Chris

Can the background color of the transparent menus be changed easily?

sevenspark

Absolutely, it would just take a very simple CSS customization that you could either apply through the admin panel or through the included child theme. (There is not a specific setting for this in the Control Panel, though, if that’s what you’re asking).

Thanks for your interest!

Chris

Hello!

Great theme! I was wondering though, is it possible to install the dummy content from the demo site? In which case – how?

Thanks!

sevenspark

Hi Joakim,

Thanks! I’ve got preparing the demo XML on my agenda for early this week. You would install it via the standard WordPress importer

Hope that helps :)

Chris

sevenspark

Hi Joakim,

Agility 1.1 is now out, which includes sample demo content and instructions on how to install it. Here’s a video if you’d like to learn more :)

Hello, i just want to ask if supports the greek characters? if i write my posts in greek is it ok? Many thanks, nice theme!

sevenspark

Hi Andreas,

Thanks!

Agility uses Google Web Fonts: Droid Serif (for headers generally) and Open Sans (for body text and some headers).

If you look at the character sets for each: http://www.google.com/webfonts#ReviewPlace:refine/Collection:Droid+Serif|Open+Sans , it looks like Open Sans supports Greek letters but Droid Serif does not. So if you wanted to use Greek letters you’d need to replace the Droid Serif font with something else – it’s not a difficult customization, but the font will not look exactly the same as the demo.

My understanding is that most serifed fonts would not support Greek characters, due to their shapes. So your best option may be to simply make all fonts Open Sans in place of Droid Serif.

Hope that helps! :)

Chris

Hey Seven,

Great Theme. On the homepage where the 3 featured articles are (Fully Responsive, Back to Basics, Beautiful Design)... is it possible to make them scrollable? i.e. say if I had 6 of these blocks, can they be horizontally be scrolling back and forth?

Thanks!

sevenspark

Hi Joe,

Thanks, glad you like the theme! That’s not something that Agility is currently capable of, sorry. I am considering adding a feature like that down the road, but it will depend on demand.

Best,

Chris

Chris

Is it possible to vary the size of the slider. I’d like to make it not so tall.

Thanks

sevenspark

Hi Bodie,

The slider will automatically adjust to the height of the largest image that you place inside it – so just use images with the dimensions you’d like to have displayed and you’ll be all set. You also have the option to set an aspect ratio which the slides can be cropped to (you can choose whether or not to crop the slides to the same size on a per-slider basis).

Hope that helps! :)

Chris

Chris, You’ve done amazing work and I’m very impressed with this theme. I love how thorough and solid this theme seems to be and your support process seems second to none. I have a couple of pre-sale questions however:

1. The Bricklayer function sounds awesome. Does it work for laying out the homepage as well?

2. I see under Shortcodes under Tabs you have the ability to create tabbed sections of information. Can tabbed info be placed on the homepage? Can tabbed info be placed in the sidebar too?

Thanks, Michele

sevenspark

Thanks so much for your kind words, Michele!

1. Yes, that will likely be it’s most common usage. BrickLayer can be applied to any Page – so if you’re using a static home page, its layout can be dictated by BrickLayer. Here’s an example: http://agility.sevenspark.com/home-page-custom-layout (that’s just meant to show a bunch of possibilities; not that you’d necessarily want that much on your home page).

The other 4 home page templates (demoed in the “Home” dropdown) can also be used, and do not require BrickLayer (so it’s optional).

2. You can add tabs anywhere that you can add custom HTML or shortcodes. If you’re using a home page template, you could add tabs either via the widget area or directly into the Post Content (which can optionally be displayed between the Featured Items and the widgets). If you’re using BrickLayer, you could add them to a custom HTML brick. You could also place them in a sidebar via a text widget.

Hope that helps! :)

Awesome! Thanks so much :)

sevenspark

You’re welcome! :)

Love this theme. I’m building a WP site for my first client who is a small marketing company. Few questions:

1. Is it easy to add a landing page for this theme? The marketing company has two branches: corporate & leisure. So the landing page would direct to one of the two sites. I would use the theme to do both the corporate & leisure parts.

2. I love the example theme which is perfect for the corporate part, but they’ve asked for the leisure part to be dark. Is this theme easily customizable to have a darker/black background?

Thanks !

sevenspark

Hi mcranston,

Thanks! Glad you like the theme :)

1. I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for. There is no specific landing page template, however:

  • you could use the Full-Width page template to build your landing page
  • you could create your own custom Page template in a child theme
  • you could use BrickLayer to create a custom Landing Page layout (you’d still have the standard header and footer)
  • you could upload an independent HTML template and use that to link to the WordPres site if you prefer

So I guess I’d say that there’s nothing in Agility that prevents you from creating a landing page certainly, but there’s also nothing geared specifically toward that end.

2. This will really depend on your CSS skills – it’s as easy as changing the background and text colors, and as difficult as tracking down the selectors to do so and adding them to the child theme (changing the background is simple, but there will be a variety of font colors to adjust).

Hope that helps!

Chris

Hi, Really nice work ! Can you include psd file? I’d like to change some graphics… Thanks in advance. Cheers

sevenspark

Hi manv83,

Thanks for your kind words and your purchase! Unfortunately there is no PSD , because the theme was designed in-browser. However, if you’d like to send me an email from my contact form or pop over to the forum and let me know what you’re looking for, I’ll be happy to share whatever I’ve got. :)

Really nice theme. I love the portfolio part that is far most useful for displaying different galleries than many other theme (and i need it). My only concern before buying this theme is the translation aspect of it. I read that you plan to make it internationalized, but what is the timeframe?

Thank you and great work! YEAH .

Huge thank you! It’s a winner theme for me to get next week!

You’re welcome! :)

sevenspark

Hi lpday,

Just wanted to let you know that Agility 1.1 has just been released, and it is now translation-ready! (internationalized and includes a .pot file)

Thanks for your interest, and enjoy! :)

Chris

Hey Seven,

OK, so with the purchase of the WP theme, is it possible also to receive an HTML layout of the theme? I tend to do quick mockups to show clients how the site would look like.

Thanks!

sevenspark

Hey Joe,

Can you shoot me an email through my contact form? :)http://themeforest.net/user/sevenspark#from

Could you add some comments to your first post? Just curious how comments and nested comments look like with your theme.

And does this theme have shortcodes for columns? :) Thanks! ;)

sevenspark

Hi Henk,

Here’s a post with nested comments: http://agility.sevenspark.com/adventure/moby-dick

I haven’t included column shortcodes because I think they are a bad thing – defining layout-level elements with shortcodes makes for a mess if you ever decide to switch themes (to one with a different set of shortcodes) – and I think locking customers in is unfair. The grid system is very simple to use, so instead of a shortcode like

[one-third]content[/one-third]

you would write

<div class="one-third column">content</div>

Which is slightly longer, but will not break your site in the future.

However, I am considering writing a plugin that will provide these shortcodes as a convenience – which would allow you to “take the shortcodes with you” if you were ever to switch themes.

Does that sound like something that would work for you (a plugin), or would you rather just see them included in the theme? I’m definitely interested to hear your opinion as a potential customer :)

Also, I wanted to let you know that I’ve added Flickr and Tumblr social media icons, and the ability to disable the lightbox on all posts and portfolio items – these updates should be available by early next week.

All the best,

Chris

Default-user

Hi Seven!

Thank you for your support! And I’m not even a customer yet! :P

http://agility.sevenspark.com/help/

I must say, your support guide looks very extensive. I’m impressed! :)

About the shortcodes. I think all three the options would work for me. The plugin would work, but I’m always a bit hesitant when installing plugins. Don’t want to many, and I’m not always certain if I can trust them, but if it comes from a developer like you, I’ll bet it’s safe. If the shortcodes come with the theme, it will be fine too. Since I will only use columns on full width product pages and maybe the frontpage, I think I will have to adjust those pages anyway if I switch themes in the future. And the final option, html codes, would also work for me. But I’m not a web developer and I will need some examples to work from.

So if I understand it correctly: when I want one one-third column and one two-third column, I would write:

<div class="one-third column">content</div>
<div class="two-third column">content</div>

and four one-fourth columns would be:

<div class="one-fourth column">content</div>
<div class="one-fourth column">content</div>
<div class="one-fourth column">content</div>
<div class="one-fourth column">content</div>

If it’s so, or if you can give the right code, I won’t need the plugin. ;)

Regards, Henk.

sevenspark

Thanks for your feedback, Henk!

I hear what you’re saying. I think I will include them in the theme, and perhaps consider offering a plugin as well at some point down the road. I just want to make people aware of potential pitfalls so there aren’t surprises later.

You are correct that that is how the HTML would work (except “two-thirds” not “two-third”.

Working on finalizing this stuff today, hopefully have it released soon! :)

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris I just noticed your previous reply and I think that the plugin could be a great idea, however even if the shortcodes are going to be part of the theme would be ok, I will ke checking The item detail page to see when this will be ready and then I will definitely buy you great theme. Thanks

sevenspark

Thanks for your input! :)

Thanks again for your feedback on this, Agility 1.1 now includes both a shortcode generator and column shortcodes :)

Hope you enjoy it!

Chris

Hi Chris

Re column shortcode: I’m happy with shortcodes, but I think the column shortcode plugin is a good idea too.

On another note… do you have plans to add video into the slider at all?

Wayne

sevenspark

Thanks for the input! Working on them as we speak :)

As for the video slider, that’s something I plan to look into, but I can’t say whether it will come to fruition or not at this point.

Chris

Hi Chris,

After much searching, I can’t figure out where to add the copy for the “secret stash.” Thanks in advance for your help!

Kelly

sevenspark

Hi Kelly,

The “secret stash” content is controlled by the “Drop Panel” widget area – in the demo it’s a Text Widget containing custom HTML . Here’s the demo code for your reference: Widgets: Drop Container

If you have any further questions, please head over to the support forum – thanks! :)
