Will this theme allow you to have comments on pages as well as posts?

ThemeBlvd

There are comments on posts, yes. However, by default, there are not comments on pages, but you can easily enable this within the framework by putting this in the functions.php of your Child theme.

function activate_page_comments( $setup ) {
    $setup['comments']['pages'] = true;
    return $setup;
}
add_filter( 'themeblvd_global_config', 'activate_page_comments' );

would that get overwritten every time I update though?

Use of support forum mandatory as of January 1, 2013

We’ve recently setup a new support forum and we’re pushing all support over there. Just a heads up!

Starting January 1, 2013, we will be making it mandatory that all support given to verified buyers will be done there.

No support will be given through the ThemeForest comment system. The only exceptions will include pre-sale questions and any issues you may have accessing the support forums.

How hard would it be to make the menu a dropdown menu when viewing from a mobile phone?

ThemeBlvd

You mean like a select menu like this other theme? There is an already an option in Akita for that you can change to. ;-)

... And if you mean a button to toggle the main menu open and closed, this won’t be added as an option until the next update.

Yep that’s what I need to know, will be buying soon, keep up the great work

What is the best facebook plugin to use with this theme? I would like to add a facebook feed as a sidebar widget. Thanks!

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

I’m honestly no expert on what facebook plugins are around. The buyers usually know all the best plugins. ;-)

You can search tons of free plugins on wordpress.org, and just try them out. See which works best for you.

Does this theme have a place for the google analytics code?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

Yes it does. From your Theme Options page, you can paste in your code provided by Google Analytics.

I created a layout and chose full width but it seems to be leaving an area for a widget. Any clue what is causing this and how to correct it?

Really like this theme, thanks! One question, what is the default search page results so I can apply a sidebar item?

thnks

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

Yes. On your website, you select a sidebar layout for your entire website. This also gets applied to the search results page. By default, the entire theme (including search results page) is setup with a Right sidebar.

Ah, thanks. Been using custom sidebars for all pages but this makes sense. Much appreciated.

Pre-Sales Question: I love your themes. I’m looking for a responsive theme for a business site, but I don’t want to use a slider. Instead of your homepage no. 4, could I have just one image, item, in the slider, so it wouldn’t, slide? Also, where do most folks put their opt-in box on the homepage of your themes? I’m not seeing this so naturally. Thank you!

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

You should checkout the videos over on the Item Details page that go through how the Layout Builder works. You can put just about whatever you want in a custom layout when you build it. If you just want an image at the top you can do that. If you want a slider with one slide, you can do that also.

And if you have some sort of opt-in widget or shortcode, you could use that in a custom layout, as well. But there’s no opt-in widget or shortcode that comes with the theme, so you’d need to find a plugin.

How do you change the color of the slider’s header? The text box doesnt seem to register the inline css styles.

I recieved this templete thru a print package I bought with Theme forest but its got bugs, can I purchase an upgrade?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

This theme was actually never included in any Envato or ThemeForest bundles. So you may be getting mixed up on where you got it, or maybe what theme you’re using.

The only way you could have legally obtained this theme is if you had purchased a regular license through ThemeForest. And so assuming this is the case, you just need to figure out what account you purchased the theme with, login to that account, and you’ll be able to download the latest version for free.

Default-user

ok I will purchase the theme today :)

Hi, I just purchased a copy of Akita and am trying to upload the theme to a Word Press app on my Uk.net hosted domain. I’m not having much success and cannot access the cms to customise the theme or upload the assets I want to use. Can someone help?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

We don’t do any customer support through ThemeForest comments any more. All support requests need to be submitted through the support forum, which is here: http://support.themeblvd.com

If you’ve previously purchased Jump Start, you can login at support.themeblvd.com with that account, or you can just create a new account.

Either way, after logging into your account, you need to then go to “My Account” and then register your purchase of Akita. Then, you can post your question in the Akita forum.

Hi,

First great theme. Only one question, is it fully compatible with the latest 3.5 version of Wordpress?

Many thanks,

NP

ThemeBlvd

Yup, it is. In the future for support, please post in the support forum.

Hi ThemeBlvd, A friend asked me to build up her site, but i’m having problems in portfolio section. Is it possible to make vertical thumbnails for vertical oriented photos ? I’ll leave here my example: Example I need to have the entire image placed in the thumbnail square :S Can you help me? Btw, nice theme, hope u continue like this!!

ThemeBlvd

Hi Zeocool,

All customer support for buyers is done over at http://support.themeblvd.com—So, you’ll need to get your friend’s account and purchase information, get signed up, and post over there. And then we can get you squared away.

Hahah that’s ok, i’ll do, see ya on forum!

Got a guestion about home page…

I am using a builder on the home page. One of the builder bits is “content from an external page” and I have chosen a page called “home content”.

When I search my website on google, the “homepage content” is one of the first links that comes up. Can I make this link invisible/un-viewable without viewing the entire home page builder?

Thanks!

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

Come on over to the support forum. This is where we’re handling all buyer support.

http://support.themeblvd.com

BTW, I asked you a while ago and you responded but now I can’t find it…

I asked if you can change the thumbnail/image size on the portfolip/post grid page.

I’d just like the image preview to be a little larger to show more of my posters.

Thanks!

Pre-sales question:

I LOVE your themes, Jason! They are truly responsive, which is one of the things I’m looking for.

I have a few questions:

- By “Translation Ready” does it mean some languages have already been translated and ready? - Is there an option to make the sidebar collapsable, meaning the sidebar would be on every page, but if I only want to see the major pages, that the 2nd and 3rd level ones would be hidden until the user clicks on it to expand? - Is it compatible with a WP multi-site set-up?

Thank you!

Eva

ThemeBlvd

Hello Eva,

By “Translation Ready” does it mean some languages have already been translated and ready?

No, it just means that the theme has been created to be localization-ready to WordPress specs. Basically what this means is that all text strings outputted that the user sees are outputted in a way that WordPress can filter in the translation process. Unfortunately I do not keep any already translated versions.

Is there an option to make the sidebar collapsable, meaning the sidebar would be on every page, but if I only want to see the major pages, that the 2nd and 3rd level ones would be hidden until the user clicks on it to expand?

No, apologies, there is no feature for this.

Is it compatible with a WP multi-site set-up?

Yes, it is. If you have any kind of problem with multisite and my theme, please let me know in the support forums.

Jason, I bought Akita here at Themeforest. I noticed the post about the change of location for the Support System, so I created an account over at http://support.themeblvd.com however, even though I am logged in I am still unable to browse/see answers. Help?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

I saw your question over on the support forums when I ran through there this morning. So, I guess you figured it out. ;-)

For anyone else that reads this—After signing up for the support forum, you need to go to My Account > Licenses and register your ThemeForest purchases.

You do this with the purchase codes found on your ThemeForest downloads page. (See screenshot)

I want to start by saying thank you for all of the videos! I am new to Wordpress and watching the videos have given me the confidence and general understanding to develop my website – especially love the layout builder as I have a very specific vision of my website design and from what I can tell, you allow the flexibility I want. So I am definitely going to purchase one of your themes. I have a couple of questions first though. I just want to make sure that I can do everything I plan to do first. In addition to having a blog, I plan to sell products (less than 100) and e-books on my website with the WooCommerce plugin, and I plan to also offer fee-based classes (looking at Woo’s new Sensei plugin). I know that you developed the WooCommerce patch – as the products, e-books, and online classes will be a big focus of my website, am I overreaching with your themes or is my vision doable (I really hope so!)? Also, I am debating whether I should purchase either Akita, Alyeska, or the framework with JumpStart (keep in mind I am not a developer – just want the options to customize as much as I want in the future as needed). What are the big differences between Akita and Alyeska? It seems that you have allowed for enough customization that you can actually get all style differences – is this true? Or should I get Jumpstart even though I am not a developer, just someone who wants a specific, complicated website or do I need it for that reason? Finally, is it a good practice to work from the included child theme right from the get-go, even if I initially do not plan to make css or php changes (although I may in the future if I learn how). As you can guess, my main concerns are having something that is flexible enough to be able to do exactly what I want to do now and in the future as I learn more. Sorry so long! Thanks.

Default-user

Thank you so much for your response! You said “keep in mind that these kinds of third-party plugins are styled very generically. So, when you throw it into any random theme, it’s not always going to look perfect or as professional as it could if someone were to style the plugin to work specifically with your theme.” So, does this mean that in order to make the “shop” pages look like the other pages stylistically, I will need to make code customizations?

Default-user

I just took a closer like at the style options for the two themes. It seems a little limited, or maybe I am missing something? For example, it seems that the only change one can make to the content area is light or dark? And, is it posible to use a background image? I played around with the live demos for both and was able to change the header color and menu bar color, but the only options for the content area was light or dark, and they both just didn’t look right with the colors I chose. I so love your intuitive layout builder and floating widgets stuff (genius and awesome!), I just wish there was that much flexibility for customization with the styling. Other themes offer unlimited styling options – color and font options for every section – but seemingly very little flexibility in the way of how the layout will be. I want it all without having to learn coding. It makes my head hurt :-)

ThemeBlvd

“So, does this mean that in order to make the “shop” pages look like the other pages stylistically, I will need to make code customizations?”

No, it just means it’s not going to look as nice as maybe someone that hired someone to style their WooCommerce plugin to match a little more with the theme. This will be the case for any theme you use. Another option for you might be to get one of the themes that WooThemes makes specifically for their plugin if this is going to be the biggest aspect of your site.

“Other themes offer unlimited styling options – color and font options for every section”

If you want a theme that has hundreds of style options to sift through and unlimited everything, my themes might not be for you. I honestly will never make themes like this because it’s not what I believe in. But there are plenty of other authors out there making themes that put in every option under the sun. So, there are many out there to pick from.

The style options are exactly what you see there. So, anything outside of that would customizations you’d need to make.
