Great template! Does the blog section allow users to sign up to the blog?

No, this is just a static HTML theme.

Hello, purchased your template, very nice. My client has photos for the front slider but photos are about 800×600 pixels. Can you tell me how to change the CSS code so the slideshow background wrap around this size? Thanks.

You can find all the CSS for the structure of slideshow in /layout/css/core/core.css. Look for the comment ”/* SLIDESHOW */”.

purchased this site and thoroughly love your work! I am VERY VERY new to web design and so I am having a little trouble getting everything to come out how I want it…so I have 2 quick questions for you:

1. Is the wordpress site you are working on easier to edit and update?

2. Do you make or recommend an additional page or code that I can incorporate into this Alyeska site so that I can do ecommerce where my customers can place orders online with credit cards (I already have an intuit merchant account)?

Thanks for the great work!

You’re working with a static site here, so you’re not going to get any dynamic functionality. This means any changes you want to make, you have to edit HTML code. It sounds like this really isn’t the solution for you.

WordPress is a content management system. So, you’ll be able to actually update content on your site. It’s a much more dynamic solution. If you are completely unfamiliar with how WordPress works, just do a quick youtube search on WordPress. Also, I have a lot of videos posted on my Vimeo account. I even have a theme overview video for the upcoming Alyeska, if you like:

If you’re wanting a site that’s heavy into ecommerce, you might want to not use WordPress, as there are only a few shopping cart plugins out there for WordPress. None of them are amazing or work well for handling a big online store. This might be the best one I’ve seen for a WordPress plugin:

You have SEARCH on your HTML template but it doesn’t work?

This is a static HTML theme you can do whatever you want with. People use it to integrate into all kinds of CMS systems. If someone wants to integrate the theme into a system with search functionality, there is a searchform styled for them. If not they can delete it.

Hi. First must say realy cool theme, but the Comment form looks very ugly and unfinished…

Why it uses list-style??

i mean:

1. Your Name => field 2. Your Email => field ......

and the number for the submit button is is inside the Message filed…

That is a mistake, I’m not sure how the styling got lost. This is what it should look like:

I’ll do an update.

Just wondering if the update is done, i’m waiting for…

You know I’m not sure if it got posted or not. I definitely made the fix, though. Email me through my profile page and I’ll email you the latest zip package when I get up in the morning.

I bought this theme Couple of weeks ago and very glad with the layout and the possibilities. I am also new to HTML editing, but if you think logically and have some time, you can really achieve some nice things (imho) I have however a small question, I would like to create a blog page, with linkings to single blog posts, but I would like to do this in a full width page and not with an extra column beside it. If I use the coding from a full width page and erase the sidebar from the coding I don’t get the right effect I want.

Thx for your help !

I can’t really tell you a whole lot from seeing an image, but I think you just need to go back to the full width page example, and look more closely at the markup. Not only do you have to delete the sidebar, but you also have to change #content div into #full-width-content div. I can’t say for sure looking at a picture, but that’s my first guess on what you’re doing wrong?

I did change that part also, I created other full-width pages starting from other templates and those worked out fine. I think it’s more a problem with the tags div class entry and top, would that be possible ?

Yes, try changing the class “entry” to “page”

Great product! I love it! I promise this is MY FAVORITE template! BRAVO !

Okay, now I’m not a big expert on PHP , but it seems I’m lucky that I never have any trouble with a temple’s PHP contact pages – except this one.

The server I use is PHP ready and I’ve checked all the spam folders, but none of my test emails seems to go through via this product’s contact.PHP page on the web. I’m blank here!

Is there something I’m missing, as to why the emails will not work through your contact page in this template?

The contact form simply sends through PHP ’s mail function. Nothing fancy, just real basic stuff.

Can I see a link to your site? I can use Firebug to see if your server is sending the message at all or not.

i seem to have a problem with IE8 the toggles are showing white when i have the dark skin selected in the css any ideas

You can find the CSS for the toggles in:

its the same in your demo in IE

.toggle-fancy .trigger {
    background: #1a1a1a;

And voila.

it already has a background declaration

.toggle-fancy .trigger { background-color: #f5f5f5; background: -moz-linear-gradient(bottom, #F2F2F2 0px, #ffffff 100%); background: -webkit-gradient(linear,left bottom,left top, color-stop(0, #f2f2f2),color-stop(1, #ffffff)); filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr=’#ffffff’, endColorstr=’#f2f2f2’); border: 1px solid #dddddd; border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; box-shadow: 0 1px 3px rgba(0, 0, 0, .2); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px rgba(0, 0, 0, .2); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px rgba(0, 0, 0, .2); color: #666666; display: block; padding: 12px 12px 12px 40px; position: relative; }

fixe it seems the code in shortcode.css was set to FFF so changed it to

background-color: #1a1a1a; background: -moz-linear-gradient(bottom, #1a1a1a 0px, #1a1a1a 100%); background: -webkit-gradient(linear,left bottom,left top, color-stop(0, #1a1a1a),color-stop(1, #1a1a1a)); filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr=’#1a1a1a’, endColorstr=’#1a1a1a’);

Hi ThemeBlvd

the sendmail.php file refers to a page that isn’t included in the zip file:

Line 57: //If you add any fields manually to tempate_contact.php, this will grab them and send them in the email.

if i want to include additional fields [ie address, business] and have them appear in the email what should be done. I tried adding fields into sendmail.php but I just received the default ones.

The reason that message is in the sendmail.php file is because I use that same file for all of my WordPress themes. Sorry for the confusion there.

The way sendmail.php works, is I’ve tried to set it up so you don’t have to actually touch it. Whatever HTML form elements are in the contact page, should get passed along to the sendmail.php file.

The quote you pulled should read more like this:

//If you add any fields manually to to your contact page, this will grab them and send them in the email.

So by default, the theme has a contact.html file. If that’s the file you’re still using, then that is where you would just add more fields in the HTML in a similar format to the other fields.

Excellent template all the way! Superb, Top notch and then some! Is there any one else who has an issue with what appears to be the ‘search box’ over the top main menu on the ‘gallery full width’ page?

I can not seem to get rid of it or put it in place where it needs to be!

I see the bug, let me see why it’s happening.

I had changed that search popup throughout the entire theme at one point, and I guess I missed that page.

In gallery-fullwidth.html, find this:

<a href="#" title="" id="search-trigger">Search</a>

<div class="search-popup">
    <div class="search-popup-inner">
        <form method="get" action="#">
                <input name="s" class="search-input" value="Search" type="text" onfocus="if(this.value == 'Search') {this.value = '';}" onblur="if (this.value == '') {this.value = 'Search';}" />
                <input class="submit" value="" type="submit" />
    </div><!-- .search-popup-inner (end) -->
</div><!-- .search-popup (end) -->

And change to this, so it matches the other files:

<div id="search-popup-wrapper">

    <a href="#" title="" id="search-trigger">Search</a>

    <div class="search-popup-outer">
        <div class="search-popup">
            <div class="search-popup-inner">
                <form method="get" action="">
                        <input name="s" class="search-input" value="Search" type="text" onfocus="if(this.value == 'Search') {this.value = '';}" onblur="if (this.value == '') {this.value = 'Search';}" />
                        <input class="submit" value="" type="submit" />
            </div><!-- .search-popup-inner (end) -->
        </div><!-- .search-popup (end) -->
    </div><!-- .search-popup-outer (end) -->

</div><!-- #search-popup-wrapper (end) -->

Hi. Love the theme!

One small problem: I’ve got the contact form up and running, and I do receive the emails when I test it, but once the submit button is pushed, I just end up on a page that says “mail sent” and no menu or formatting to take the user back to the main site. I can’t seem to figure out how to make a custom success page. Can you help?

Thanks for the prompt response! Here’s the link:

I have not knowingly added any plugins or edited the Javascript, but I’ve unknowingly done stupid things before…

The form doesn’t work because it uses javascript located in layout/js.custom.js to send the form with through sendmail.php through ajax so the user never actually leaves the page. However, you’ve changed the ID of the form in contact.html to “ajtooley-contact”. The javascript is linked up to a form with id “jaybich-contact”... So obviously it won’t work now.

So, in layout/js/custom.js, find the comment “Contact Form” and change all the “jaybich-contact” to what you changed the form id to.

See? I did something unknowingly stupid! And yet, I should have known better.

Thanks for your help!

I always compliment on how much these authors put into a template.

I will honestly admit it…. This is by far the most outstanding and desirable template even created by an author that I am impressed with.

Though.. I wish there was a login feature you just can not help loving this template.

NOTICE : – For self hosted videos in FLV or MP4 …..

if you recently updated your flash player this may cause an issue on the server side as I have found out… Make sure to check your Adobe flash player settings to ensure no errors.

This is not an author related issue. This is a flash issue.

Again… Thank you so very, very much for a truly outstanding and amazing template!!!! This one will be hard to beat in my opinion.

WOW :)

Loving it!!!

Sounds like you love the theme almost as much as I love your screenname – flashyflash. If anyone would know about this flash stuff, it’d be you! Thanks for the kind words.

I solved my earlier PHP error from last week, and it was a fault of my own.

I now have a another PHP error and this might be my fault as well, but I can not seem to track it down. I’m not a PHP expert.

The server PHP Error.log records this om every time I test the contact form from the live server:

PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/nosite/public_html/test/sendmail.php on line 38

any idea what is wrong with line 38? (below)

foreach ($user_fields as $key => $field) {

Have you made edits to the file? That warning really shouldn’t effect if the email goes through or not. I can’t tell from looking at one line. Can I see link to the site where it’s happening? And I can tell you if it’s actually sending the email or not.

mz_ Purchased

Purchased this template a few weeks ago, very nice. Loving it so far.

Question though. I’d like to change the lightbox popup from light-squared to dark-rounded. Where/how can I change this?

You can find the prettyPhoto function in layout/js/custom.js

Wonderful template. I’ll be using the entire thing in a future project. Right now I am trying to integrate just the Anything Slider into an existing site. In order to prevent css and js conflicts with my existing page I need to find out just what the required files are to make this work and if I can strip it down to just the

The theme just uses the Cycle jQuery plugin. There’s a lot of documentation and usage examples on the Cycle plugin homepage.

Hi ThemeBlvd,

In the Contact Page, how do I replace the value “This field is required.” with “Dato obbligatorio” (Italian) ?

I do not know the answer off the top of my head to your question. The validation is handled in the theme with this plugin. I do know there’s a way to customize the validate() javascript function that I’ve placed in layout/js/custom.js in order to customize those messages. You can find a lot of demos and documentation on working with that validation plugin on their website.

Jason, I’ve been having a problem with the Cycle Slider on Alyeska and Stealth on mobile Safari on the iPhone and iPad. When a YouTube video comes up in a slide you can click it and it starts to play, but the slider just advances stopping the video. Of course this doesn’t happen on a regular browser. Any idea how to get Slider to stop for iOS devices.

The slideshow plugin will stop when the mouse is hovered over it, but since that doesn’t work the same in mobile safari obviously, it won’t stop. Unfortunately I’m not aware of a way to remedy this.

Dear Jason,

Fantastic work! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into the design, structure and documentation. I am learning a lot from the way you organized the files and your strategic separation of the components that make up the site.

How can I gain access to the Demo options pop up? I like this functionality a lot. If it is an additional purchase I would still like to know how I can gain access to it.

Once again congratulations on the fantastic job. You should put a donation button on your website as people with as much excitement as I have may wish to give you more $$$ for your hard work.

Best Wishes,

Hello Todd,

Sorry, but the Demo Options popup is for my personal use only. It’s not something that I distribute to people.

Dear Jason,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a question about the anything slider. If you press the play button for the video, it does not stop the slide show.

So it starts the video and then after a few seconds it goes to the next slide even though I selected the play button. How do we stop the slide show from going forward automatically when a video is selected?

Also, after you press the play button, every time the slide show goes back to the video it automatically starts playing the video.

Is there a bug in the anything slide show? I did not change any code this is straight from your demo website using FF 3 .6.17

There’s no way that I’m aware of for the slider to know that a video is playing. The slider will stop when the user puts the mouse over the slideshow. So, in theory, if the user clicks play and doesn’t move their mouse outside of the slideshow, they can watch the video without the slider moving forward.
