I have what may seem a “stupid” question. Can I use this email template to create and send emails within Mozilla Thunderbird (POP) or do I need to host it out on a web server and use some type of email marketing software there?

Mozilla Thunderbird makes it possible to insert the HTML Code that the Template requires and send it to your customers/visitors. However, you do need to upload the Images on your own server. Also, to ‘create or edit’ the Template, you obviously need a Text Editor such as Dreamweaver, Coda, TextMate or even Notepad.
Basically, this is what you need in order to send the Template successfully to your customers/visitors:
- E-mail program such as Thunderbird/Mail OS - Text Editor - Own server where you can host the Images

Thanks for the quick response. I do use Dreamweaver and/or Notepad++ for HTML /CSS coding. Prior to purchasing I have just one question for clarification. I run Thunderbird from a home office. When you say “host images on my own server” would that also apply for a shared hosting server such as GoDaddy or HostGator running Linux? In other words I don’t have a dedicated server but I could FTP a folder with the images to one of my sites running in a shared environment.

A shared hosting server is just as good. This is how it works:
You upload the images in a folder let say ‘Images’. Now you need to connect the path to these images, as example:
http://www.yoursite.com/images/myimage01.jpgBasically, every person who reads your email pulls images from your server. It’s that easy actually

The Template is build with valid HTML and inline css and should be compatible with any Mail service.
More designers/developers should follow PremiumStuff’s detailed and clean format, seriously a GREAT job on the ease of setup and use.

Very possible. You do need knowledge of table coding. However, the grain would disappear as we cannot use Background images in e-mail. I suggest to keep it this way to prevent breaking it.
