Hi guys,

Cam @ Sensory back again, having produced a new site for a client, and it is looking fantastic, she is already thrilled:

www.felictyfellows.com

One issue i am unable to sort out myself is the full screen images that feature on each page and the home slider. It appears as though the responsive element of the image is not being applied here, and the image is remaining too large and cropping awkwardly.

Can you advise how i might be able to resolve this, and/or a more accurate size to fit all browsers and monitor sizes.

Thanks in advance, Cam

Thank you, Cam.

The fact is that images save their ratio on the browser canvas resize. So if the image is wide – it looks good on the desktop. If tall – on the mobile device.

Also images aligned to the left-top side of the screen (it’s possible to align it right or/and bottom if you need). To make your pictures look good, try to play with it’s size (make a bit taller). Or just make image with more than 1 point of interest (as we do for our demo example). At the end it’s only the background for content.

We use only CSS (no any JS) to make fullscreen slides & backgrounds, it’s very fast for sure but have this limitation – impossibility to really “center” reduced image.

Sincerely, Alaja

p.s. unfortunately, can’t look at your site, DNS are not resolving http://internetsupervision.com/scripts/urlcheck/check.aspx?checkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.felictyfellows.com

Hello Alaja, I have a couple of questions involving ‘how to’, I think. Firstly, I need to put an image into where the Main Copy would go. The client needs to have her branding where that is but not take up the whole page. Is there a way of doing this without breaking anything? I’ve been very careful so far but have had to revert a couple of times. Secondly, how do I change the font? I tried in a couple of places and couldn’t get it to stay. Great Theme though. My client requested it and I’ve finally started getting to know it. I’m glad I got it.

Sorry. Call it a Splash Page that shows the page and logo and then fades to the Home?

I had the Font changed for about 3 hours and then it is back to Georgia or something of the like again. URL is http://www.opus77test.net/layneau/ and I’ll happily give you access to the backend if need be via personal message. It was odd.

You may only use single font for the site, just enter ‘News Cycle’ for example, then refresh the page of your site in browser to update styles cache. To have a more possibilities, just use WP plugins which suit you.

Hi guys

Got a question re a small bug I’ve found with the linkedin social button on the header: despite putting the right URL in the admin area back-end, on front-end, the URL alters, adding the URL of the page that is being displayed, eg: http://fgwc.com.au/process/au.linkedin.com/in/carolinetunnelljones http://fgwc.com.au/portfolio/au.linkedin.com/in/carolinetunnelljones which renders the button useless. It only seems to be the linkedin button that is affected. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks, Caroline

Hello Caroline, please start all your urls with ‘http://' part

A quick ‘how to’ question:

Which/where/what do I need to change to make a custom background color for the entire site. Now it’s white.

alaja

You may use Theme Options > Style > Custom CSS:
html, body, .head.top { background:yellow }

Love the theme. two questions:

how do I ensure that the home slide page has the mobile menu bar? Right now, it is just showing the plain menu bar and I’d prefer the other.

Also, you mention in other comments that you can orient how the slide reduces down to lock from the bottom or the right—instead of how it cuts down right now. Since it isn’t actually responsive, I’m looking to not just view the left side of the page.

Thank you!

Thank you,

1) Fullscreen slides is the only template in theme that don’t replace the navigation by the mobile dropdown menu and shows nicely all the menu

2) Please add to the Theme Options > Style > Custom CSS:
.slides.full img {
  right: 0;
  bottom: 0;
  top: auto;
  left: auto;
}

Thank you!

I’ve achieved what I think most of the full screen slider comments here are trying to do on past sites using css:

background-size: cover; However, I believe this will only work if the image is set via a background-image argument whereas they are html img elements here. Any ideas on how to gain this functionality?

chris3d Purchased

Answer:

Replace line 33 of template-fullscreen.core.php with
<img class="slider-bg" style="background-image: url('<?php echo $slide['img'] ?>');" alt="" />

And use the following css:

.slides.full img {
  width: 100%;
  height: 100%;
  background-position: center;
  margin: 0;
  padding: 0;
  border: none;
  -webkit-background-size: cover;
  -moz-background-size: cover;
  -o-background-size: cover;
  background-size: cover;
}

I believe the original styling for the image element is on line 1253 of style.css – this may work without any edits there, but if so just remove that line and it should work.

Thank you, yes it’s a solution. But the one caveat, that it wont work in IE8.

Quick question for you. The small text box on process disappears on the mobile version of the site. I would like the feature text to stay—rather than have a big huge white space as it appears now.

thank you!

The nav menu is very choppy for me in Safari when in one page mode. Is there a fix coming?

alaja
alaja Author

Can we know more what you mean? Thank you.

When I’m in Safari and using the one page format of the theme, the nav menu bar skips and is very choppy as I scroll down the page. There is also a periodic flicker at the bottom of the page when scrolling up, which I assume is the previous image passing below the visible part of the page.

Do you experience it here http://wp.alaja.info/anthe ( one page http://wp.alaja.info/anthe/single-page/ ) ? If so, please let us know your Safari version and your OS (Win/Mac).

Hello :)

It´s a great theme. I love it.

I have one question. Is it possible to take away the black underline of the page title ?

Thank you for your help !

Regards :)

Thank you! Just add to Theme Options > Style > Custom CSS:
h2:after { display:none }

This may be what the post above is referring to – In Safari the navigation links on the fullscreen slider page load with a normal font-weight, then jump to bold. There also seems to be something else going on where the font-size jumps, but can’t find what’s causing that. This also affects the social links. It almost appears as if there’s a white text-shadow loading at the top of the links themselves? Odd that this only happens in Safari. Can’t reproduce it in Chrome or Firefox.

Safari v. 6.0.2

EDIT – looking at the ol element as this affects the social links as well, and I do see some -webkit- specific base style rules. Not sure if this is the culprit though.

chris3d Purchased
What do these do?
-webkit-margin-before: 1em;
-webkit-margin-after: 1em;
-webkit-margin-start: 0px;
-webkit-margin-end: 0px;
-webkit-padding-start: 40px;
They’re not being ignored by safari, but google isn’t even giving me results for what these are.

edit: nvm, found it

Sorry for so many posts – on second glance, it looks like there may be two instances of the nav loading. Any ideas?

Ah. Not using the single-page mode, but good to know! You can see it in Safari with the nav links on the demo site – http://wp.alaja.info/anthe/

After the head element fades in the nav text links seem to jump a little. I actually prefer the appearance after this jump, but the transition itself is somewhat distracting.

Oh, we see now. That’s a Safari animation glitch, you may fix that by using Theme Options > Style > CustomCSS (please let us know about the results):
ol.menu li a { -webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased }

Hello, you’re making such a wonderful themes, I was looking somethin like this for so much time. I would like to buy one, but got a question: can I add a musical player into the theme. I’m a composer, so it is important for me

alaja

Thank you, Artem. You can do this by using any plugin that suited you, http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-audio-player/ for example, or http://codecanyon.net/browse/tags/default/media%20player

I am having some problem with the Work Post. My portfolio images are in 750px in width and 1000px in height. However, the image frame cannot show in full. It only show the top part of the image. How do I make them to show in full?

Very nice and sleek theme.

alaja

Thank you. You can disable max-height of slides by adding next line to the theme options Style > Custom CSS (don’t forget then to reload you site page to refresh cached browser styles):
.slides { max-height: none }

Hi Alaja, Thank you for answering my previous question about setting an “About” page.

I have another question about the ordering of Works on my “Works” page. I would like to set the ordering (not by date nor alphabetically). Is there any way I can do that?

Also, how do I remove the numbers in front of the titles of the Work items? The 01. and 02. and so forth…

thanks so much again, alice

alaja

Hello Alice,

1) you can manually setup date to achieve the custom order http://cl.ly/PdjT

2) add these lines to Theme Options > Style > Custom CSS, save the options then visit your works and refresh the page manually to update browser styles cache:
.items .span span:first-child,
.titles .span span:first-child { display:none }

Hi there,

The image gallery for the special ABOUT page, are you able to make it auto slide? Currently it only changes when i click.

Cheers!

alaja

Please open script.js file inside theme root, and find string:

jQuery(‘ul.slides.light’).responsiveSlides

Then find below auto attribute and simply change false to true.

Hi

How do I get my contact page looking like the demo? Is it a plugin? Or is it part of theme?

Thanks

alaja
alaja Author

It’s part of the theme. Contact page use ‘Contact’ page template, and special page structure, that you can find in Shortcode Manager (the last icon of the editor).

Hi,

Really great work. Is there a possibility to use this theme as a Blog-only site? How does the Blog look like, didn’t find it in the Demo?!

Regards
