To update this erro it is to do with lofarticles, as if i turn off that module the error goes away. Still need fix for this though.

I am trying to put jreviews into that position, and it works if I disable lof article slideshow.

However site doesnt look very good without lof article slideshow

maskeenan

Oh yea yea…, I’ve read here. jReview and lofarticleslideshow couldn’t be used at same page. I’m sorry, this time I can’t help much, but I think, if jreview is more important than lofarticleslideshow and it couldn’‘t replace with another extention, So maybe you could please try to find another slideshow module, DJ Image slider I think can be considered…

Some people have mentioned this problem twice fo you have a solution?

“I have set up the News Show Pro GK4 module only on user1 and I set this module to have 3 columns and row. But, when I click on an article link it opens in the Home page and not on a separate article page like it should.”

I have same problem?

Hello Gary,

Sorry for my late reply. To solve this problem you need to create a menu item which is pointing to this article. For example : your “A” article are in “Category One”, you need to create a new menu item (it could be single article or blog category type) which is pointing to “Category One” (If you choose blog category type) or directly pointing to “A” article. I think it will help.

Please can you give me a clear step by step on how I can upload the arapah_quickstart.zip into joomla. I am new to Joomla and your template. And I have tried to follow your instructions but it didn’t work for me. I was able to upload the template zip files but not the arapah_quickstart.zip

Thanks

maskeenan

Hello George,

Thank you very much for purchasing my Arapah. Here, I’m trying to explain the step by step installing this joomla.
  • upload arapah_quickstart.zip to your live site directory, then extract it
  • Create new Database using a MySQL utility such as phpMyAdmin on your server, remember the Database name, database user and also the password
  • Then call your website on your browser for example http://yoursite.com (if you place the arapah in your root) or maybe http://yoursite.com/folder (if you place the arapah in the subdirectory)
  • Then you should have the installation wizard from Akeeba. You then only need to follow the wizard, but please keep in mind that you need to fill new administration password
I think that’s all you need to do then, please let me know how it will be.

Thanks Keenan

Hello Keenan, thanks for the quick respond. I have another question, it’s not really about your template. But my question is, I downloaded FileZilla and want to use it to ftp the arapah_quickstart.zip and it’s asking me for Host, Username and Password. Please can you let me know what I can use for my Host, Username and Password. Other than the Joomla platform that I installed in my computer I don’t currently have any webhost. Thanks a lot

maskeenan

hello…

Thank you very much for purchasing my template. Could you please install using our quickstart file? it will save much of your time than you install the template and the extention separately…! Or do you have your existing data?

thanks

How do you set the default template to be Byzantium?

Thank you.

maskeenan

Hello Leonard,

Thank you very much for purchasing my template. To set the byzantiium as your default skin. Please go to template Manager > Arapah > Profile Tab (on your right side) > Theme Setting. Please assign to the byzantium skin then. And onwards, please do not forget to hit save.

Good Luck, Keenan

Unfortunately, this did not work. Would you know why?

I don’t think the “Save” button is working properly. Or is this a file permissions issue?

Respectfully, Leonard Michael

One more question, whenever I replace the images in the GKNewsModule it doesn’t show when I refresh the page. I left the path the same as in the article, but just changed the image name, but it doesn’t show. What directory do I upload these images into? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance!

maskeenan

Hello Leonard,

it happens because I choose to enable “create thumbnail” option in News Show Pro GK module. To solve this small problem, you could please go to Site > Maintenance > Clear cache on your administration page. then check all cache group there then click delete. I do hope it works.

Regards, Keenan

Joomla 1.7 Bug…

Running Joomla 1.7 and JA T3 1 .3Beta with Arapah Theme, we found that the screen that you use to ‘checkbox’ the specific site pages to which the template is applied appears to ‘fly by’ so you can’t check or uncheck which pages the theme should apply to.

Needlessly Complicated Installation

While the theme itself is great, the way this theme is packaged is not. The main “zip” file contains multiple smaller zip files. As such, this theme is not Joomla “installer ready” out of the box and requires a bit of reading and fiddling to figure out how to install it. Newbies beware.

On inspection we found an entire outdated copy of Joomla 1.6 with the Arapah theme pre-installed located in one zip file.

There was another zip file with copies of other plugins like “Akeeba Backup” in another zip file. Presumably these are or will be out of date shortly as well. It’s not clear which of these are “required” and which are simply suggested.

It would be more helpful to include just the template and documentation in one main zip file and include just links to the other required or suggested plugins in the install documentation, making clear which are which.

hi I just installed your template: http://georgenwador.com/osa2 where do I go to find this line of code: “src=\”images/sampledata/ice-cream2.jpg”? so I can change the “ice-cream2.jpg” to my own jpeg image

maskeenan

Hello George,

Do you mean the image on a slider position? on lof article slideshow module? actually these images are taken from article image, So, you then just need to replace the images on those article items. And Please be in mind that you need to check lofarticleslideshow’s data source, because I’m worried your articles item/category is not selected on this module.

Good Luck

With regard to above…I tried changing few things at mega.class.php and mega.js but didn’t work…maybe I didn’t do it right.

So this is want I am trying to do:

1. Sub menus to drop down on mouse click 2. Sub menu drop down to roll back when I move the mouse out of its area.

Can u just instruct me what to change and where?

Thanks.

Hello Maverick,

I’d also tried to find the way, but it same, I couldn’t find proper way to solve it. Maybe we could try to find the right answer on forum joomla.org. I’m so sorry.

How do you set the default template to be Byzantium?

I tried doing what you suggested above, but for some reason it doesn’t save the changes I make.

Is this a permissions issue? If so, can you tell me what folders/files need to be set to what?

Thank you in advance! LMW1
