I did the quickstart and followed all the instructions. However, there is no sample data.
also… Going to Admin > template manager > dmt_arcturus – Default I find that it will neither save nor close. I must use the browser back button to get back to the administrator.
and… going to the control panel I get a warning: “Model class cpanelModelCpanel not found in file”
Hi,
Thanks for purchasing. When you say there was no sample data, what do you mean? Weren’t you able to select it after connecting to the database? These errors might indicate some file was corrupted. Did you try downloading the zip again? If the problem persists, can you provide admin access?
I downloaded the zip twice. I also did a re-install. Perhaps I did something wrong in the installation. In any case, I don’t need the sample data now. Thanks.
So you’re only getting the problem when trying to use the sample data. I couldn’t recreate it. If you do run into it again let us know.
I am using Arcturus with Community Builder (CB 1.9), and it looks good so far.
One issue I have is with the login module at the top. Because CB 1.9 has it’s own login modules, which integrate with K2, Kunena, and the other components on my site, I don’t use the system login.
How can I remove the default login? I’ve looked and can’t seem to determine which module it is.
That’s great. The login link is not a module but a feature. You can disable it or change its position from the template admin under the features tab.
Wow! I can’t believe I didn’t see that. I must have gone past it 6 or 7 times. Thank you so much for your reply.
Thank you very much for your support. I really appreciate you getting back to me in a timely fashion. You got to me just before I started meddling with code. Whew!
You’re welcome
Admittedly, the difference between features and modules is often not very clear.
Testing the demo on mobile before purchase and caught a few things: I noticed what is possibly an alignment issue of the main content div when viewed via mobile. The main content doesn’t center, leaving a small bit of the background visible at the top & right sides of the view port (but not on the left). This happens in both portrait & landscape view, so I’m not sure if it’s a visual asthetic you were trying to achieve with the left alignment of the main content div or if it’s a bug with gantry or something. Also, i noticed the “breaking news” ticker module at the top of the template, scrolls left to right, starting from OUTSIDE of the main content div in portrait view on a mobile device. Lastly, the links section converts to single column in portrait view on mobile causing some unsightly white space in that section. Can that be adjusted to two column in order to balance out the space & decrease the amount of necessary scrolling?
Hello,
Sorry to keep you waiting so long. Regarding the issues:
1 – Are you seeing this behavior on the frontpage or somewhere else? On what device?
2 – If I understand correctly, you mean that the featured news slider has an overflow? Do you have a screenshot? Either I’m just not seeing it or I misunderstood what you meant.
3 – This is the default behavior. In this particular case two columns would be better suited, you’re right. But these modules can hold anything so it’s better for us to keep it general. Custom modifications can be done to the CSS to change this. Nothing very complicated.
I just looked back & apparently I posted that comment under the wrong template!!! I’m so sorry! Don’t mean to waste ur time. There aren’t any alignment errors in mobile view. That was in reference to a different template, different designer. Sorry!
No problem, happens to all of us
