Thanks!

Wonderful ! A preloader for the home page would be welcomed !

Actually, there is an preloader there – it just happens to be set to delay a second at the moment, which helps make the transitions smooth when you’re flipping through the slides quickly. :)

Thanks attic!

Great WP theme! Again an exelent work :)

Heck yeah, this is sweet!

I feel it to be a bit jumpy on Chrome, Windows 7. But I guess that’s the price you pay for such a smart UI (eg. thumbnails with lightbox or permalink options, max/minimize + navigation, etc.).

Either way, great work!

Thanks crozer! Yep – every browser is going to be a little bit different in how the jQuery stuff is dished out (that’s just the nature of jQuery and browsers). I thought it felt “snappy” and even more responsive in Chrome, but I suppose that could totally be “jumpy” to someone else, lol :P

The good news is that all of the major animations are 100% configurable. So if you want slow, smooth animations, you can get those easily.

Cheers! B

Hi,

I really appreciate your theme and I seriously would consider buying it. I have few questions about it:

- It is possible to disable the “maximize” function ? (in order to have my vertical pictures showing up not cropped)

- I read that the theme support video but after clicking all the “gallery” thumbnails I didn’t see any exemple. I missed something ? Do you have an exemple of how videos appears after clicking a thumbnail ?

- Do your theme support sub-menus ?

Thanks for your answers and keep the good job !

Aevin!

Great questions!

1. Yes. A single line of CSS should do the trick. I might also just build this into the admin panel for people to toggle it on and off. Great idea ;)

Side note: You can actually even set the default to either size as well if you wanted to keep the maximize button but start out on the unscaled version

2. Videos will launch from the lightbox – I’ll have top make this one a bit more clear on the demo.

Click on the “Launch in Lghtbox” icon for the 2nd thumbnail from the left to see it in action. In the future I’ll be making this a bit more obvious with a Play button overlay ;)

3. Yep. Submenus are supported down to 5 levels.

Cheers! Brandon

Well done on a truely excellent theme, firstly, and thanks.

Unfortunate problem, however. After uploading the theme via FTP , and attemping to activate from WP-admin, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_option_tree() in domain.com/wp-content/themes/artboard_v1.0/header.php on line 43

The corresponding line of code (43) is…

<?php if (get_option_tree(‘favicon’)) : ?> <?php endif; ?>

...and I’m stuck there.

Site is running lWordpress Version 3.2.1. All plugins have been disabled.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Heya Sam – You just need to install the OptionTree plugin first, as the instructions suggest :) The theme uses that plugin to run all of the admin options, so hook that up and you’ll be good to go.

Hi Epicera,

Great job on this theme dude!

I have one questions:

Checking the demo I notice that, on the first page the image displayed does not change unless I click on another image. Is it possible to have a fullscreen slideshow to start automatically? It would be specially nice for those viewing the site on an iPad, this would allow a visitor to have a good overview of the website owner work just by entering the site URL .

Cheers, Xavier Donat

Heya Xavier – Great question! I’m actually working on an auto-play feature this week. I can’t promise whether or not it’ll make it into the next update, but it’s definitely on my agenda!

Keep in mind all buyers will have access to future updates – so you can always add the new feature later on when it’s available.

Cheers!

Thanks for the quick reply. Problem solved just after posting!

:) I figured you’d sort it out quickly – there’s also an auto message built in to let theme-users know they need the plugin.

The reason for this is pretty simple – OptionTree is an awesome, open source options manager that is supported and maintained by Envato. When they release new features, you’ll be able to grab them quicker than I can even integrate them into the theme… which makes it the perfect solution for long term theme use.

That all makes sense.

Question:

Is there a way – when using the ‘Traditional Blog’ template for a Page – to view the entire contents of each post rather than having just the “read more” link and some text?

My blog Posts tend to be primarily one single image taking up the full post width. This “read more” link takes away the impact and ease of navigation for the visitor, in my opinion. Is there a way to show everything?

In the Reading settings on WP-admin dashboard I have the option selected “For each article in a feed, show: Full text” which I would have thought controls this.

Apologies if I’m overlooking something simple.

Yep! Inside the template-vertblog.php file, switch “the_excerpt();” with “the_content();” – line 109. ;)

Thank you for your fast answer ! :-)

Thanks – I’ll give that a go.

Just another question Brandon.

It is possible to disable the “launch in lightbox” and the “open full post” buttons located in the bottom corner of the thumbnails ? I wouldn’t like my visitors viewing pictures on a normal post page, better to keep them on the main slider.

Thanks for your time.

A

P.S. It would be soooo great to be able to play full screen videos like the pics by just clicking the thumbnail ;-)

Heya Aevin,

Yes – the lightbox and full post links are 100% optional – there is a simple “on/off” toggle inside the admin panel for them to show up or not. Check out the link inside “Screenshots” to see the full list of options in 1.0 – http://themeforest.net/theme_previews/479212-artboard-fullscreen-portfolio-blog?index=8

As for fullscreen play on the videos – I’ll need to check that out actually. I’m not entirely sure if it’ll work, but I’m game to give it a try using some HTML5 .

Cheers!

Thinking about another purchase to my major ThemeForest addiction but had one question before purchase.

My client has nothing but 28” iMacs in their offices and the backgrounds don’t resize, etc. Is that possible so that you don’t have backgrounds tiling everywhere?

Thanks! Beautiful theme btw. -Mark

That’s probably because the images in the demo are all wallpaper sized… so you may just happen to have the exact same size/rez monitor as the images, which would mean that resizing them does very little in terms of what you see on the screen. Try opening up some of the images inside the “Photography” gallery to see some different aspect ratios ;)

Cheers! Brandon

Hey there! Please can you let me know if I can create multiple galleries (e.g. landscape, people, commercial, etc.) as an extensive portfolio. Love the theme otherwise and really want to buy it but need to make sure I can create those galleries. Thanks a million!

MDNW
MDNW Author

Yes, absolutely. That’s actually what I created the theme for… so you can add as many galleries as you would like. There’s actually 3 different gallery styles to pick from as well – the “Artboard”, the standard gallery, and the full width thumbnail gallery. Each one can be found in the demo under the main navigation.

Cheers! Brandon

Hello, I just bought your super wordpress theme.

Heya Power! The categories and tags are listed already in the blog list page, although I need to make a small update to the single blog post page to include those as they seem to have been omitted. I’ll add it later on today :)

Brandon

Hi Brandon.

I just bought your theme on recommendation from Nathalie Boucry above. Here’s to new great website thanks to you!

You must have just checked the link when I was pushing the update on the demo ;) The new file has been submitted (check the single blog page for the meta inclusion at the bottom) and should be available for download in a few hours when the reviewers approve it.

Cheers! Brandon

I am considering purchasing this template but I have one question that I need to know an answer to. I am a photographer and would like to have a template that I can easily update. Key for me is the Gallery/Portfolio feature. I am wanting to know if I can have multiple galleries where each gallery page contains different photos that are not posted in all the galleries together. For example, one gallery page maybe portraits and an other might be landscapes. Hopefully I am making sense.

Hi PM,

Yes, you can have multiple galleries that are super easy to update. Each slide image is simply connected to a post using the default “set post thumbnail” feature in WP, and you can have additional images for each post nested inside the standard post gallery.

Portfolios are separated by category, so yes, you could have a portfolio for “Portraits”, another for “Weddings”, and another for “Landscapes” or “Black and White” or anything else you can think up. You can even have a super-gallery that could combine images from each one of your other portfolios.

Hope that helps – holler if you have another question.

Cheers! Brandon
