Hello, I can’t figure out how to add “work” and “skills” to the sidebar. My Widgets page is not showing me such widgets. Please help. Thanks.

Can an author attribution be added to blog posts? Kind of like you have with your Premium Pixels theme?

OrmanClark

Sure, it would take a little code change but it’s small, just a single line. We can help you with that if needed.

Hi Orman, bought this theme recently. It’s quite fantastic. :) I’ve a few questions: 1. Can I change the title ‘Skills’ to something else? If so, where can I do it? 2. How do I create an image gallery like the one shown here: http://themes.premiumpixels.com/artiste/?portfolio=fauna-friends-japanimals-posters 3. How do I activate the ‘Related Projects’ function?

Sorry if these answers are found in the how-to-guide. Can’t find them…

Many thanks, M

Hi, it’s not available out of the box, however, it’s a very small change to include them which we can help with should you need it.

I’d like to know if either the Ariste theme or the Gridlocked theme can have a search input field added. I see people have asked this question on the support forum but I don’t want to make a purchase if the theme is not what I’m looking for.

OrmanClark

Hi, yep you can add a search widget to any of the sidebars.

Hi Orman,

very nice theme, I’m about to buy it! I’m pretty unexperienced with wordpress and have these two questions:

1) Would it be possible to add RSS feed functionality to the blog and portfolio to the theme? With a nice RSS button being there to be clicked?

2) Is it possible to also present sets of images in a blog or portfolio entry in a grid-based fashion, instead of the next-next-next thing? Like I photogallery where I can see an thumbnail-overview over all images and click one to enlarge it…

Cheers, Peter

OrmanClark

Hi,

1. Yes, WordPress produces RSS feeds by default.

2. Not out of the box no, the default setup is as per the demo. It is of course possible, but you would need to modify the theme files to do so.

Hallo Oman,

I would like to purchase you beautifull theme Gridlocked, but I was wondering is it possible to have a widgetized footer area with this theme. Please let me know,

Regards, Hans

OrmanClark

Hi Hans, it’s not something which is included with the theme no. With a little modification however it would be possible to add a widget area in. Perhaps an hour or so for a developer.

HI,

Is there any way to disable the right click “save picture as…” on galleries? Tkx

OrmanClark

Hi, there’s no complete solution to stopping images being downloaded no, people can still see the source of your site and hence the image URLs. You may be able to find a snippet of JS out there to disable right clicks however.

Hi,

So I’m ready with card in hand to buy this Artiste theme! Just two pre-purchase questions I have not found the answers to yet:

1.) Are the thumbnail images automatically generated from portfolio pictures? Or can I just upload a perfectly sized different picture and not ever see that picture in the portfolio “post”?

2.) As far as the pictures within a portfolio “post”, are there size restrictions?

Thanks!

OrmanClark

Hi,

1. The thumbnails are the featured image for the project, however, the featured image is not shown in the project’s slideshow. So, yes, you can create a perfectly sized thumbnail and not see it in the project page.

2. Only in width (700px), they can be any height.

Awesome! I’m definitely getting the theme first of all because it’s awesome but second of all because you’re awesome and have great customer support! Thanks!

Sounds good to us, hope you like it :)

Hi, great theme. I was wondering if social sharing buttons can be added instead of the excerpt in the gallery view? Is this hard to modify by adding facebook, twitter, & pintrest?

Hello, I really like your gridlocked theme. I just have one question…

Is there anyway to have the content centered in the right? As it is right now when you click on an item in the left column it opens up in the right column but it’s pushed to the left. I would love it if it would open up centered.

Thank you!

OrmanClark

Hi, it’s not an option as such no, however, if you’re proficient with CSS (or know somebody that is) you will be able to modify the CSS to change the alignment.

Orman,

Seriously considering buying this theme. Just a quick question….ON the main portfolio page…How do you determine WHAT will go in the main portfolio page.

I’d like to have a section for sketches , but do not WANT it on the front page of my portfolio. Was curious if ALL items get posted to the main portfolio page, or if you can sort them into pages/ sections and SET what you want to show on your main portfolio page.

Thanks!

OrmanClark

Hi, by default all your portfolio projects are shown on the homepage. If you wanted to exclude a single project, or a type/category of projects, then you would need to modify the homepage template.

Either is a fairly small change and we can give you pointers on how to do both in the support forums http://www.themezilla.com/support/ :)

Hello do you have in your works a website that could fit to a musician?

I need a discography gallery :-)

thanks Gabriella

OrmanClark

Hi, we don’t have any which are specific to musicians I’m afraid. You may however find that a portfolio theme be suitable. I would take a look through our creative themes as you may be able to bend them to suit your needs http://themeforest.net/user/OrmanClark/portfolio

Cool template. Definitely close to buying. My main concern is this: the red-colored links at the bottom of the image detail page aren’t behaving in a logical manner. For example on the demo site if I click in the main grid on the Brewwd Poster I’d expect to see ‘A Bunch of Crock’ at the bottom of the page for the ‘next’ poster and ‘Let’s Swap Poster Series’ as the ‘previous’. But instead ‘Let’s Swap Poster’ is next and ‘Housewarming’ is previous. Understand my confusion? Please let me know what the method is here and if I could work around it to be more what I’m after. Thanks for your time!

OrmanClark

Got it. The next/prev links are ordered by date. There’s no other way to order these links, WordPress doesn’t give us the opportunity to change it unfortunately. The “grid” however, is ordered by you using drag/drop positioning.

If you wanted 100% continuity you would need to order the grid by date too.

Ah. That’s pretty much what I expected and I could work with that.

But now what I’d need to know this: you’ve got one broad category of 18 projects called ‘Work’, that can be filtered down into smaller collections.

Could I have multiple large categories? So for example instead of just ‘Work’ I’d have ‘Portraits’ and ‘Posters’? If so we’d be golden!

(BTW, thanks for your super quick reply. That’s well appreciated!)

OrmanClark

Indeed it can, you can see the skills menu in the sidebar. You can categorise your portfolio by skill and link to each skill type e.g. http://demo.themezilla.com/artiste/skill-type/graphic-design/

Hi,

Is it possible to enlarge the thumbs in the home section?

And is it possible to increase the space between those thumbs?

Thanks

OrmanClark

Hi,

The thumbs and spacing come as per the demo. It is certainly possible to enlarge them, but you would need to edit the theme’s CSS to do so.
