SO I bought this theme to get my portfolio website up and running, but I get a lot of errors when I want to change the color of the theme or change the background. Can’t seem to get this solved and haven’t heard anything from the authors. I need it fixed soon otherwise I would have to get another theme and I would want to get my money back.

And I also had a strange thing yesterday, when I wanted to delete the theme from my server. I couldn’t delete it because it had a weird symbol in the name. It’s really buggy and I am really dissappointed.

This isn’t a big error, this happens because your server don’t allow the script to write inside /css folder.
To solve it apply a CHMOD 775 or even 776 / 777 inside the /css folder and ALL your files, specially base.css. Do the same inside /js folder. Then go to Dashboard – ATOM – Colors. Click in Save All Changes.

However, the SIDEBAR is STILL not extending the full height of the page.

I think you are correct. This is one of those themes that installs much better using the Wordpress uploader rather than a self install via FTP .
Self install damages the sidebar and the request a quote page, but Wordpress upload seems to resolve those issues.
So again, thank you for the update, everything seems to be working correctly with my install.

Then change the fields: “Site Title” and “Tagline” to what you want.

I was able to add a title, but it just added it to the words “Page Array.” Is there a way to remove those words?

yeah, click would be better for now. And I would like it to have the submenu automatically open if you are in the parent or child in that menu tree

Hi. Great theme. I need help figuring out how to:
1. Getting blog posts to publish under the blog menu. Don’t see any option where to point posts. 2. Geting blog post pictures and selected text on the homepage slider. This was supposed to be an update. 3. Help with the url. My homepage is www.bluehookstudios.com/homepage. It should just be www.bluehookstudios.com. 4. I need four columns under “service icons” on the homepage. Can’t quite figure out the short codes for this.

Let’s go:
1. I think almost of this issues you can solve just going to Dashboard – Settings – Reading
Now set the option “Front page displays” to “A static page (select below)”. Now, select a page to be your front page (homepage) and set “Posts page” with your blog page.
This way you can add the page to menu, have a homepage.
2. About the slider, you need just add few attributes more and done.
3. We can help you with the shortcodes.

- Since I am adding it to the actual image, would you happen to know which font was used for the text “Responsive Friendly?”
- For the social media piece, will you guys be adding icons for LinkedIn and YouTube since they are both pretty popular social media outlets? Or is this something available that you can send upon request?

The “Responsive Friendly” is part of the logo, so you need write it directly at your logo.
- Nevis, that you can get here – http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/nevis (It’s free!)
- Linkedin is already added, just add this to your widget where you display the social icons:
[social_widget icon=”linkedin” href=”#” class=”no-margin”]
PS.: Remove the class=”no-margin” if this one isn’t at last line of icons.

I solved all the issues I was having except a big one:
I can’t get text on the homepage slider image. I’m using the shortcode sliders/flex item and nothing happens when I put a caption in. This is extremely important.
In other words, I want text to be displayed on images from blog posts. Like this: www.breakingthelaw.tv.
Otherwise, the shortcodes are great. All sorts of stuff you can do with them once you learn how to use them.
I have opened a ticket up. Thanks in advance for fixing this problem.

About your question, here is a sample of slider using caption with link:
In this example, you need add your content normally but inside [flex_item] ... YOUR CONTENT HERE … [/flex_item]
Inside it you can use a H4 to make the title and put a link in this to your post for example.
You can use normal text to add the text.

Thanks, slider text works perfectly.
The theme looks great. Back-end seems solid so far, at least to a non developer/designer.
My bit of advice: Make posting content to the homepage slider easier. For people expecting to be writing blog posts frequently, I feel there are some additional steps that may not be necessary all the time.
In my other WP site, I have the option of posting to the homepage slider right in the Posts section. It saves a lot of work compared to this.
Other than that, nice piece of work!
