Is it possible to have email/phone number on the header? with Social media icons? i read something about it above, but unsure.. :)

I am having some problems with the one column portfolio.

I think it is related to the feature images but, the footer has moved to the portfolio description area. So it is now black and the other projects are no longer showing up.

Hmmm, thats is hard to visualize.

This happened to another user and it was due to errors in the content, like tags that were open and not closed. You need to check the content of your portfolio posts for any errors.

Home page 8, 9 and 10 were added after the XML was made. But we have included all that demo code in our documentation file.

You have a “documentation” folder with your package, open it and then find the “index.html” file. Double click it to open the file, that is our documentation file, it has just about everything you need.

Find the “How To Setup Your Home Pages” section and at the end is a section for each home page. Copy the one you want, and paste it into the HTML editor of a new page. Set the new page to Full Width, then paste the demo code you copied from our docs, into the HTML editor tab. Make sure you click on the HTML tab and paste the code, it will not work if you paste it in the Visual Editor tab.

And Home Page 10 is brand new (yesterday) so I will include that demo code in our next update, if you need it now just let me know and I’ll copy it here.

Home page 10 has a static image, no video slides. I assume you mean home page 8, right?

That is just the layer slider video. And you can import the sample sliders from the layer slider options. At the top is a button “import sample slides”, click it and it will give you 4 slides. THere is one called “video sample slider” That is the one.

I simply used that and changed out the video links in the sublayers.

almost forgot, on the demo home page 8, there are no play and stop buttons. the slides contineu no matter what, even if I stop the youtube video.

Hmmm, I think you are talking about autoplay.

That should already be set, go to the “global options” and make sure “auto play” is enabled for videos.

I dont know why, but I can’t change the width of the slide… its always on full width.

You probably need to put “px” after the width and height. It can take px and %’s so its probably reading the %.

Make sure your width and height have “px”, like this … 940px

I am currently designing a website based on Avada, and see that you will soon be launching various masthead layout options beyond what is currently available.

From the “never hurts to ask” department, is there any chance you could release the Photoshop file (assuming that is ready and you are only dealing with programming still pre-launch), so I can see the options and possibly incorporate one of them into my design, since I will be showing the layout before your update is released? Even via direct email if not public release?

That way, by the time I get client approval and you release the update, my design will be compatible and ready to go!

Just about to purchase, but I thought I’d ask: Will I have any problems getting ‘under the hood’ and making some changes to the layout?

I’d like to make some minor CSS adjustments, and also add some contact details to the header. Also I want to use a single static image (no slider), and this image may not be as tall as the example slider.

I have plenty of web dev and WP experience so I’m guessing it shouldn’t be a problem but I thought I’d double check….

I’m having trouble setting up the recent works slider. What goes between the tags in order to get a nice set of images?

Nothing goes inbetween it, the shortcode works with your portfolio posts. So you have to have portfolio posts setup and a featured image set for each one. The recent work shortcode grabs the featured images from your posts.

If you leave cat_id=’’’ blank then it grabs all your posts. If you insert a category slug, then it will only grab posts in that category.

For example, if you have a category called “photography” and you only want that category to show, then it looks like this.

[recent_works cat_id="photography"][/recent_works]

I just purchased Avada and it’s amazing! I was just dropping my widgets into the footer to emulate your test layout here on TF but I’m noticing my font size in my footer is larger and doesn’t look as nice as the TF version… can you tell me what font or size you’re using for the footer?

Yes I would love to tell you that is possible, but right now its not. The thumbnails that are generated for the listing page are auto generated from the featured image you insert for the post. There is not a separate field to insert a separate thumbnails image.

But we are working on adding that as a new feature so users can set a separate thumbnail, and/or we’re going to allow the thumbnail images on the listing page to change in size or provide a new listing page layout for vertical images.

Its on our update list and will be added in the future, which would you prefer to do … be able to set a separate thumbnail image for the listing page, or be able to change the thumbnail size on the listing page?

Thanks for the reply! Ultimately, having both options would be best, because even though the dimensions of design work vary, it might in some cases build a coherent-looking whole. However, my work put together in such a way would just look chaotic, so I’d prefer being able to use separate images for the thumbnails.

Hi, I have just purchased the Avada Responsive theme yesterday and I have 3 questions to ask.

1. How does the license work? Do I need to synchronize the theme with the license? Since there is no guide, I think.

2. I have installed the theme in my website. But it gave me an error. Here is what it said.

Server error The website encountered an error while retrieving http://clubs.ntu.edu.sg/cec/wp-admin/themes.php?activated=true. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions: Reload this webpage later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

Is it caused by the down by the server? Do you have any suggestion for that?

3. I could not install the theme in my localhost. Here is what it said.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 45 bytes) in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\themes\Avada\framework\plugins\tf-flexslider\widgets\widget-wooslider-base.php on line 61

or

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 261904 bytes) in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-includes\plugin.php on line 69

I have attempted to change the memory limit. First, I tried to change in wp-config.php, then I configured the ini.php for the second attempt. But neither path can make it work. (the guide that I used http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/ ). I have attempted to change the limit into 128M, 256M, and 512M. They only gave me different number of bytes in the error notification.

No need to sync the license. Your license is just your proof that you have purchased the theme. Its also used for singing up at our support forum, you need to provide the purchase code during sign up to prove you bought the theme.

That first error is server related, you should contact your host about that and let them know what the error was. I imagine they can fix that quickly.

The second error, is strange since you said you were on a local host. Did that happen during the install? Or during the XML import?

Have you installed other themes on the local host? It could be a bad WP install.

Hi, thank you for the reply. I see. I was afraid that I cannot install my theme locally.

Huff. Do you have any idea why it is? Because I am installing it for my school website and I need to use school server. Btw, for the Wordpress, I use Wordpress version 3.1.4 for both online website and my localhost since my school server only allow Wordpress that version (above than that version will not support the database they said).

Btw, I have installed successfully (maybe?) the theme via FTP. I got these errors when I tried to activate the theme. Yepp, I have already installed many themes in my Wordpress. But this is the first time I use the premium one. Anyway, for the XML import, do you need to activate the theme first before doing it?

Yes you need to activate the theme first before importing the XML.

The errors you listed in your original post are server errors that your host needs to fix before the theme can be installed. I did not see the other errors you mention that you get when you try to activate the theme. They did not come through.

Avada will work with WP 3.1.4 so that is not the issue.

Are you able to contact your host about this? Or do you have an IT dept at your school?

Or can you email us your WP and FTP info so we can take a look?

Definitely contact them with that server error, they will certainly be able to correct it.

For the local host, our developer said he would try to reinstall Wordpress on your local host.

Feel free to email me with any more details about this, it will be easier to go bak and forth there with these type of issues. And if you are able, send us your login info or make us a new account on your school server and we can look into the other issue to see if there is anything ewe can do, but most likely they will need to adjust it.

Hmmm, that would require some custom CSS since our theme options allow you to repeat, repeat x, repeat y and 100%.

Thanks for the comments! Go to the general tab and turn off the “allow comments on all pages”. By default the blog will allow comments, so just turn that option off and it wont show on all pages.

This is a setting elsewhere. There could be a couple of settings for that problem.

The best place to look is under “settings > discussion”

Make sure allow comments is checked under default article settings.

Make sure you are following all the steps on the signup page. Two important steps, one is to use the same Themeforest username that you bought Avada with, two is to use the purchase code that came with it.

Right now your “chalany” username does not show that you bought Avada. There is no “purchase” tag next to your name. So if you are using that username or any other that did not buy the theme, it will not work.

Make sure you use the same Themeforest username that you bought the theme with. The purchase has to be verified that way.

I am doing it for my client (as he was not successful with registration to the help forum), that is why here I am using here my login. So his user name aarege is correct but is showing that: No valid purchase codes where found. Purchase code is starting 4e4a302… (he bought theme 2 weeks ago). So my client have followed all steps, me to but we where not successful. So pls check on your side why aarege’s purchase code do not appear in your system.

i can assure you it works, I just checked and we do not have an account setup for that name.

Can you please have aarege email me from our profile page? You need to be logged into their account, then send me an email from our profile page, the link is below and the email box is on the right hand side of that page. The reason why I ask you to do this is because if you email me from that location while signed into their account, Themeforest will automatically show me when the theme was purchased. That is the only way they give us to verify a purchase.

If you are using “aarege” as the username, then the purchase code in the license certificate then it will work if they bought the theme here.

Send me that info and I will gladly check and get the account setup. All purchase codes work as long as its used with the account that bought it. That is how the forum works, we dont have control over changing that. But it does work.

Email me the purchase code, and preferably email me from “aarege” account so we can verify the purchase.

Hi, Suddenly all slideshows on our website stop working.
In JS console the errors are:[object Object] has no method ‘cycle’ wherewisemenshoot.com:117
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method ‘isotope’ main.js:228

I have deactivated all plugins, then re install the theme, but still sliders are not working.
I have seen that limpisei user post the similar problem 2 months ago, where can be the problem?

Do you recall anything that has changed? Nothing in the theme would cause that to suddenly stop working so something changed on your server side maybe. The other user was an issue with their install and reinstalled and it was fine.

But I just checked your site in Safari, Chrome and Firefox and the sliders show up.

Hello, I have installed AVADA on my homepage www.inographics.de. It works really fine, but I have one problem with the AVADA-contact form. Always when I try to send an email, I receive the message “Please check if you’ve filled all the fields with valid information. Thank you.” (German Message: Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob Sie alle Felder mit gültigen Informationen ausgefüllt haben. Vielen Dank!) I have filled out all fields, where could be the fault ? In the meantime I use the plugin “Contact Form 7”, which works properly, but looks not as good as the AVADA

Are you using the reCaptcha spam protection? If so, make sure you have the keys inserted in theme options.

Secondly, do you have any other spam or contact plugins that are active? If so, deactivate all your other plugins, then check to make sure the contact form works. Also, double check that the email address you have inserted is a working address.

My guess is its a plugin conflict, disable your pluigns then check it. Then you can reenable them one by one to see which one it is. If you have an anti-spam plugin, that will probably be the issue. You wont need that, we use reCaptcha spam protection and its built in. Just set up the keys, the steps to do so are in our documentation file.

Hi Guys, Ive lost my login details and i can’t seem to login.. In any case I having a bit of trouble with the theme.

Ive watched the videos posted on your youtube channel ( very nicely done and put together) but you dont seem to cover this issue.

I only have ONE (1) Feature Image when trying to create my portfolio. In the video you have 5. You even go on to say that 5 feature images are set by default. I have just one.

I have version 1.1.2

If my version, how do I Update it because when I try to update it comes back saying the most current one available.

Hi Rolen!

Oh no, lost login details! You should be able to click the “lost password” on the login screen and have it emailed to you. Your username will always be your Themeforest name, which is rolenchetty”.

For your issue, that is a new feature in v2.0 and higher. The theme does not have an auto-updater so it wont tell you it needs to be updated, You need to download the latest version from your downloads tab on Themeforest and then install it via FTP, or delete the current one from your admin and install the zip via wordpress.

Please make sure to take note of the READ ME FIRST file you get with your new download, a lot of stuff has changed, including a brand new theme options panel. All the details you need are in the read me first file.

once you upgrade, you can switch the post slideshow to the new method which uses the multiple featured image boxes. The old method in v1.x does not have that feature.

How to create collapsable FAQs?

The FAQ’s will act like accordions automatically. You nee to create a new page and assign the FAQ as the page template. Then click on the FAQ in the left sidebar of your admin and create new FAQ’s by making a new post.

Where are you doing this?

And what blog layout are you using? Are you trying to make them larger or smaller? Blog large and blog medium will not take larger featured images due to the sidebar. You would need to use full width layout.

Make sure you are putting “px” after the width and height as well, a number by itself will not work.

Hi, my website needs to be in two languages. i read some comments and about wpml or qtranslate. do you have any recommendations or advice? i can’t understand if qtranslate will allow me to have two revolution sliders, one in italian and the other in english. if so, can you help me out and explain to me the exact procedure? thanks.

We have not done this with our demo so I dont have specific instructions. But I do know that users use WPML, I’m not sure about qTranslate for multi-languages at the same time, but that could work. Check the description of the plugin to verify.

Your best bet is to post this on our support forum, I would put “USER HELP NEEDED” in the title so users who have done this can share their advice. Our support can possibly shed some light on it there as well.

We’re planning on adding this feature i a future release, and when we do we will certainly include specific instructions for users and are also planning o including multiple new languages that are already translated. But that wont be done until a future release.
