Hi, I want to import The Demo Data – XML file – but I am working on local host and do not have the ftp info needed. Is it possible to import the demo to local host? Best, ML

Yes its possible and will actually go faster. You dont need FTP for that. Check out our docs under the “E. Importing The Demo Data” section, it gives instructions and also shows a video tutorial .Follow those steps

If you have further questions, post this up on our support forum where we can assist you further. There is also a troubleshooting section in our docs for importing XML if issues rise.

can not find anything elswhere … I was following E. under your docs, but I only get the ftp possibility when I follow – Tools – Import – Wordpress – Install.

Do you have the wordpress importer installed? Is it asking you for FTP info to install a plugin? If so then its most likely a security measure by your host.

@titospinola: of course you can do it! There are million ways to do it! You could just link it from any page or article (just like the example you provided), you can manage you PDFs using any wordpress plugin and/or you can upload them to your website using any FTP client…

Hi :)

Themeforest recently changed how you can download files. They now allow you to download the “Installable Wordpress File” which is just the wordpress zip, or you can download the “Main Files”. You need to download the main files to get the full package, which has the XML file.

Hi :)

Your data will easily move from theme to theme, but every theme has different features, shortcodes, styles so our shortocdes will not show up in a different theme, and vice versa. But that is normal and expected behavior for all WP themes.

I would recommend this thread below in our FAQ section of our forum :)

It gives you the CSS you need, make sure to enter any custom CSS in the CSS field in theme options, that will not be overwritten when you update.

We try to ad al kinds of requests like this to our fAQ section so its easy for our users to get it. We are also adding lots of new theme options, one of which will be to control the width of the dropdown menu ;) But for now, just follow the CSS in this thread.

“High Resolution ; Yes”

This means “Portfolio Thumbnail Resolution ; High”?

It means the theme is retina ready, but for images like portfolio its up to the user to upload large enough images to display at high res. There is no way to make a low res image high res, the original that is uploaded needs to be large enough to display.

Check out the “T: Retina Ready Feature” section of our documentation, it explains the process and has a video tutorial.

All of the included images, like icons, boxes, etc are already retina ready. Any images that the user uploads need to be large enough to display in high res.

Hello, Is it possible to change the porfolio to only open a lightbox when the image is clicked? example, remove the link to view item details and remove the rollover—just have the simple lightbox gallery.

Yes that is possible. Although right now with 2.1.3 version it requires you to manually remove them, but we do have the steps on our forum and we can assist you with that. In our upcoming version you will be ablto easily remove them via page/post options :) That update is coming in the next few weeks. All updates are free once you buy the theme too!

Upon the most recent upgrade, all of my sliders, my footers (all widgets) were all erased. Can you tell me what happened? I’m beyond accepting that the work is lost – just trying to figure out why it was erased.

Also, the sliders have changed appearance – I think they are broken. I am assuming I overlooked something in the update file, although my update file was broken when I tried viewing it.

Please advise.

Hmmm, well the widgets will become “inactive” when updating to v2.1.3. That is normal for this update as it fixed a sidebar bug that was needed. The result of that is it removes your widgets, but ehy are all still in tact. They will be listed in the “inactive” area of your widget section. Just drag them back over.

Also, be sure to read the READ ME FIRST file that comes with the download, its in the “main files” so make sure to download the full package to get it. It outlines that change above. And that iwll only happen this one update as it was a bug fix.

For the sliders, Im not sure and would need to see your site. Sometimes the developes change the “skin” of the slider so it may appear as looking different, but all your sliders should still be there.

To help with this issue, please psot up on our support forum os we can get further info and help.

Create a new topic with the above info, then post a second reply with your username/password and mark it as a “private” reply so only we will see those credentials and will be able to login and check the issue. Be sure to include as much info as you can about the slider issue.

Is there a way to change the icon for the [checklist] from the arrow bullet to a custom icon?

I’ve been sifting through the style sheets and haven’t found a solution yet. Maybe I haven’t looked in the correct area yet.

Hello, your theme looks amazing :-) I´m thinking of buying for a project I am working on. One question before purchase: I need a widget area in the header to put the translation flags (i’m not sure if i’m gonna use ‘wpml’ plugin or ‘qtranslate’). Is this option available in Avada?

Hi :)

Yes this can be done. And in our new update (coming in a couple weeks) the header areas will have several theme options to select waht you want to use in them. They are not widgets in the widget section, but you are able to mix and match content in them. For the flags, we recommend using WPML as we have worked directly with their developers to ensure Avada is compatible. THey give you an option to insert the flags in either the main menu or the top menu with just a click of the button.

hi themefusion! how to disable the “hover feature” of flexslider navigation arrow? and replace with own button design. please advice. thanks

Hmmm, that’s a larger customization. Those nav boxes are CSS, the arrows are an image. So you could replace the arrow just by replacing that image. Its called “arrow-bullet.png” and is in te images folder.

As for the hover effect, you would need to modify the CSS for that as well. That snot something that is a theme option or anything.

There is a “Latest From The Blog” feature on the front page. Is it possible to use it multiple times for different categories?

For example: “Latest News” “Latest Podcasts”

Hi there,

I bought your theme and really like it a lot. I am having a small issue though. I would like to change the color of the links. I changed the css (both in css file and when that wasn’t working also in the advanced css customizations options you supplied) to: a:hover { color: #336699; text-decoration: underline; }. However, the links remain green. What is it that i am doing wrong?

Hi :)

The link colors are all controlled in theme options on the styling tab. You can change the color there. If you want to add decoration like underlines, then add the custom CSS to the CSS field in theme options. Its best to leave the css files alone as those will be overwritten when you update.

Most likely if your CSS was not working then the target was probably wrong. You coudl also try using !important tag.
